  2. I have the Custom version and since it doesn't come with a bonnet any sink mark issues don't effect this version. The front and rear seats do have matching upholstery patterns and the front seats are made of a flexible vinyl. To my eye the front seats have an unrealistic amount of recline.
  3. Tamiya market a Flat Base in three different versions to suit their Enamel/ Acrylic and Lacquer range of paints. It's like a paste you mix in to the paint and allows you to vary what level of shine the paint will exhibit. https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/acrylic-paint-23ml/acrylic-x-21-flat-base/
  4. It was a surprise to have this arrive today from Hearns Hobbies. Since i had no record of a shipping notice and its stock level went to sold out a couple of days after i placed my order I had been watching their website for a restock but although its now being shown as being on sale its still listed as sold out. The documents on the box show Hearns' shipped this the same day I placed my order so that is an excellent turn around. This was my first order with Hearns and I had checked out as a guest so next time I order I will sign up and hopefully be able to follow the orders status by logging in. SMS are adding to their Automotive colours range with a lot of Holden colours that many from down under will recognise as what was available on the HQ. https://www.scalemodeller.com.au/collections/automotive
  5. At least it appears these new Holden kits are selling well which bodes well for future releases. Hopefully the distributor has more in stock to replenish Hearn Hobbies stock levels.
  6. I ordered a blown one of Hearns' Hobbies on the 16 March and despite them saying they ship within 24/ 48 hrs I have yet to hear anything other than an automatic email acknowledging the order. When I placed the order their site was saying High Stock but a couple of days later it changed to Low Stock and is currently saying Sold Out. This is the first time I've dealt with Hearns and their lack of communication now makes any repeat orders unlikely. I've always dealt with another Australian business called BNA Model World who are excellent but at this stage they aren't listing DDA in their catalogue.
  7. I'm just giving a quick shout out here to Charles at 3D Customs after receiving my first order from him yesterday. Communication was excellent and my order was shipped with tracking within a week. The quality of everything in my order is excellent with everything printed so crisp it makes injection moulding look very ordinary. It is a revelation to me to see how far 3D printing has now advanced.
  8. I wasn't offered any WELCOME10 when I placed my order. Maybe its location specific or because us kiwis are the poor cousins.
  9. For any New Zealanders watching I have just placed an order for one example of the blown Holden off Hearns Hobbies paying with PayPal and Ive been charged NZ$78.43 plus NZ$30.26 for DHL shipping
  10. Hobby Design make a resin kit of the Singer and the Singer DLS. I only have the DLS version and it is exceptional.
  11. This is video coverage of DDAs stand at the 2023 Melbourne Toy Fair which was held earlier this week. Their new range of plastic kits is covered along with info on future releases...
  12. This new series of the Australian GM Holdens are now coming to market. There is a number of different cars and while they are appear to be a quick builder kit in the video they are sure to be of interest to those of us down under who grew up with these cars. https://www.hearnshobbies.com/products/dda-collectibles-1-24-hq-holden-slammed-blown-4-door-sealed-body-opening-bonnet-with-engine
  13. I subscribed to that channel a while back. It can be unnerving to think you could encounter these vehicles while out on the road.
  14. I've got this kit in my stash and am following along closely to see if there are any issues so I will be forewarned. I've been buying direct from MFH website and found they are quick and efficient with my purchases arriving in sturdy packaging. I've earmarked my one to be painted Verde Pino.
  15. Italeri have announced another all new tool kit to add to their expanding big scale range
  16. Thats a good point Craig. Eyeballing isn't the most accurate of ways to check fit. Since it was such a quick and easy job I used Rep +Mins supplied template and drilled the required three pin holes and have found their part fits perfect and is actually a better fit than my Revell one which will require some fettling to get it to sit properly. I've had to stick it down with carpet tape in the photo so its sitting properly. The modifications Rep + Min say to perform to the body to make their screen fit the old 32 have already been performed on the new 32 shell by Revell. The shape of the screens are noticeably different with Rep + Min screen being noticeably more laid back in appearance.
  17. At least my windshield has no issues. I do have a Replicas & Miniatures Duvall resin windscreen here and it appears to fit the new revised 32 Roadster when eyeballing it. The shape is a little different and it has pins on the underside to make it easier to mount. It appears to me to be a viable alternative if Revell aren't forthcoming with replacements for their dodgy ones.
  18. I saved this article as a pdf back when it was posted but the article wont attach here as pdf. Is there a work around or if anyone is interested I can just screen shot the pages and attach them as jpg
  19. I've always found his videos to be an excellent source for seeing what's in the box and how it assembles. The state of his spray booth and filter usually raises my eye.
  20. I've yet to see any difference in the Molotow parts I have cleared and not cleared over time. They still look as good as new. The only issue i have encountered is a Molowtow refill that was about half fill went off. Its appears the unused Molotow has a shelf life
  21. I've always understood it to be early cadillac. It doesn't say anywhere on the box or instruction what it is.
  22. Tamiya make a decal adhesive which may help. I've got some here and found it effective. https://www.tamiya.com/english/products/87176/index.htm
  23. I've got the last release here and its got the slicks and only the drivers seat. At some point in the past Tamiya was offering the treaded tires separately. The missing Dunlop and Shell decals in the latest release are available from Tabu Design
  24. I was just at Gravity Colors USA website and saw this notification....
