I would definitely be buying the kit if your serious about critiquing its shape. Having the kits shell sitting on my bench and looking at my IPhones screen at the same time its surprising how the shape can appear subtly different on the screen. The one thing I will critique myself is the sill and door line on the kit appears to have a more accentuated raise from front to rear than my images of the real cars.

Looking at my shell and comparing it to the top photo I think it comes back to camera angles and lenses changing perception.. I'd say mine is the same shell but I can't see the slightly award shape in that photo in my own shell. My shell looks to be an accurate enough representation when comparing it to photos I've download though I have never seen one of these cars in person. Looking at all the photos I have downloaded you can see the cars were changing from race to race and car to car so I won't be the one to be saying what's right or wrong. When taking the photos of the K2 and K3 below it was easy to make one or the other look different from reality just by moving the camera in and out/ up and down/around.

The courier just rolled up with half a dozen bottles of paint from Gravity Colors Spain. Ordered and shipped on Thursday and at my door in New Zealand on Monday. Thats pretty good going considering its Xmas but that's the normal service I receive from Gravity Spain.

I don't have any Meng kits here myself but I've read that their military models are to a high standard. Their Facebook page is saying this new GT 40 kit will be pre- coloured and snap fit which hopefully doesn't mean this is just going to a quick to market toy to cash in on the recently released movie.

That sounds like some pretty serious shaking going on there Randy. I have heard of Zero Paints bottles which come with a ball bearing included actually breaking when they are given a good shake up. The resulting mess can only be imagined so I always follow the advice of putting the bottle in a zip lock plastic bag before proceeding.

That is an excellent idea and if its something like a Model Factory Hiro kit state what scale it is too as they can make the same kit in different scales.

Getting the wheels on straight
Roncla replied to rob1957's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
A couple of combination squares together and used in conjunction with a grid lined cutting mat like John is using is another simple method of getting things lined up. -
Meng had a stand at the Scale Model Challenge in the Netherlands and had the prototype on display. From the photos I've seen it looks a bit strange to my eyes though being only in the development stage the shape could be refined.

Another option for the Dunlop Wheels is USCP. I don't have those particular Dunlop rims here but I have several sets of other styles of rims from them. The quality is excellent and my orders have always arrived down here within a couple of weeks. http://uscp-ua.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=62&product_id=637

A steal at $1.8m ? I only came across this one today but Singer had premiered it a year ago. https://www.carscoops.com/2018/08/singer-bringing-jaw-dropping-dls-porsche-911-pebble-beach-na-debut/ -

I've got a couple of those V dubs here and the only the only item included is that tiny metal transfer sheet in with the clear parts. -
I'm happy with my purchase of the DVD. I first started buying the mag in 1986 so its given me access to the earlier issues I would never have gotten to otherwise see. The only issue I have is that I followed the instructions and downloaded the DVD to my new iMac running the latest OS Mojave 10.14.5 and whenever I open it I'm getting a message saying the app is not optimised for my Mac and needs to be updated Its currently working fine but worryingly its saying the app won't work with future versions of Mac OS.

Both of those are probably more likely to appear in resin from some one like Alpha Model.

Italeri have a new tool 1/12 scale Alfa Monza coming later this year. Hopefully other versions like the Spider will follow.

Thats very nice work James. Having fought the Monza Muletto version together I can appreciate the amount of work thats gone in to your build and all of the extra effort that would be required to get the full body assembled and everything lining up. Well done.

What everyone has said. I remove the paint bottle if I'm going to leave it for 5 minutes or so and flush the airbrush with thinners so its good to go when I return.
