Has anyone bought Donn Yost’s DVD?
Roncla replied to Irish Murphy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I bought the painting DVD years ago and I've found it to be an excellent resource particularly for some one new to airbrushing. Donn presents things in a straight forward and easy to understand manner. I reckon its well worth the price of admission. -
New Photobucket style disaster?
Roncla replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd agree with this sentiment too. I was wasting too much time on too many forums so I've found Photobucket did me a favour by pulling the pin. -

Problem with Password
Roncla replied to Evil Appetite's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm doing as Casey does on this site and have never had an issue of any kind. My password keeper has always been a pen and note pad. -
How important are panel lines to you?
Roncla replied to edward smith's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Its surprising how many times I've seen that too spoiling an other wise decent effort. -

Revell 1/16 '34 Ford - who's built them?
Roncla replied to Jantrix's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I did buy the 34 Coupe back in the day when they were released but never did build it and sold it as I wasn't that impressed with what was in the box. Being 1/16 there was little available from the aftermarket to make it in to what I envisioned back in then -
Someone say "D" Type ?
Roncla replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Fisher Model and Pattern have had a resin D type in their catalogue for years. I've got one here and its a very nice kit. http://www.fishermodels.com/product/d-type-jaguar-1955-124?tid=2 Profil 24 also make a more advanced kit. i've never seen one in person so couldn't comment on its quality. http://www.profil24-models.com/model-kits-modeles-reduits/en/gamme-au-1-24e/257-jaguar-type-d-le-mans-1957.html -
I knew it!, 1/12 Caterham is coming back!
Roncla replied to The Creative Explorer's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Spot Model and Hiroboy are both showing it available as preorder. No sign of it yet at the Japan retailers http://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=51349 https://www.hiroboy.com/112_Caterham_Super_Seven_BDR_2017--product--11948.html -
I can only agree with what every one else has said. Thats one to be deservedly proud of.

I'll third that.

I got a squashed 50 Austin gasser. It was actually shipped in a decent box but somewhere in the postal service from America it has had excessive pressure exerted on the bottom of the package forcing the body upwards. Nothing else in the box was damaged and I'm hopeful I can get it back in to shape with hot water and manipulation.

Thats a very good point to raise Michael. Gravity have posted an explanation on their new Facebook page for the delays in processing orders which they say was them getting swamped with orders. Mate states he has hired new employees to help with the work load and a couple of people I know have all now received their orders. I'm just about to place another order so we'll see what happens.

I followed the Italianhorses tutorial when I built this contraption. i just brushed white glue over the teflon once I'd made the hose and then painted as usual.

Moebius kits are really a lucky dip as to whether you get a good body or a bad one from my experience. There is no shortage of disgruntled buyers out there on other forums and Youtube who have similar issues with the bodies. Its a shame because I think they are making some great kits but are being let down with a lack of commitment to quality control.

Thats really disappointing when you pay the big bucks to import a new kit and find a warped body or missing parts for that matter. I've just got the California Flash and the body is perfect but my earlier Belvedere is all out of shape. There is no real option of getting replacement parts either when you are in another country as I've found the manufactures deafen you with their silence.

Ukrainian Scale Cars Production (USCP)
Roncla replied to Junkman's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
C1 Models closed their web store for new orders early last year when they got snowed under with back orders. The web store reopened but they stopped selling wheels shortly after. It may be they are a victim of their own success. -
Best way for a durable aluminum finish?
Roncla replied to Ben's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Tamiya TS-17 Gloss Aluminium is the most durable finish of all the hobby paints I've come across. I've never had any issues with it finger printing or rubbing off.
