A good friend that used to build gave my this kit some time ago. I just finished it today. The decals were badly yellowed so I didn't use them. I'll need to find some others. Built box stock except: 1. I added some styrene tubing over the metal trailer axle to make it a larger diameter, 2. added lights and licence plate to trailer, 3. added some weight to the front of the boat to prevent it from tipping the trailer back and off the hitch, 4. added plug wires to the engine, 5. added a gauge cluster decal from the parts bin, 6. added 1/16" wide chrome strip to the truck bed and 7. added a rear panel to the boat interior (which prevented me from orienting the "stuffing box tiller" correctly). Painted Tamiya Coral Green and Pure White. Thanks to Stu111 for tips on detailing the truck bed!

I raided a set of Torq Thrusts from an AMT '61 Impala SS kit to use on a '66 Chevelle that I built for a friend a few years ago. He had a 1:1 Chevelle with Torq Thrust in this blue color back in the day. -
1968 McLaren M8A
tahiti7 replied to Charger Funny Car's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Very nice Charger! It's the perfect color for this McLaren IMHO. I built this Tamiya kit 4 years ago. I bought it from Hobbylinc when they had it in stock. I used Tamiya TS-56 brilliant orange. I closed up all the small openings on the bottom where the details for the battery operated motor originally was. Are you going to leave the driver out? -
Like others have said, great job on he weathering! And all the little details in the bed bring it to the next level.

Nice job Michelle, I like copper rims and the hood decal. The Jeep looks good in white. And nice job on Daisy too! -

I've always liked the classic Cragars. But I like these also, Rota RBs (a Minilite style wheel). The BBSs are awesome also, I would just hate to have to clean them though. -
Thanks Ragtop Man! Glad I could scratch that itch for ya!

Thanks for letting me know John. I'll check out my Home Depot next time I'm there! -
How do I remove "blemishes" from windshields?
tahiti7 replied to tahiti7's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Well my local hobby store was out of all Novus compounds but I found some Mcguires scratch x at the auto parts store. Rubbing that in for about 10 minutes with a microfiber cloth removed all the blemishes. Thanks for everyone’s suggestions! -

Nice work on the two tone paint job Mario! I'm currently building a '65 Chevy pickup with two tone paint. Hope it turns out as nice as yours! -
Milsbo glass door cabinet-extra shelves??
tahiti7 replied to Safire6's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I did not know that fordpickup. So tire melt would not happen if the tires are resting on glass? -

I think I may have some Mcguires plastic polish in the garage, if not I'll get some Novus polish and give it a try. Thanks everyone for your input! -
Milsbo glass door cabinet-extra shelves??
tahiti7 replied to Safire6's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the dimensions Kristof! A couple days ago I had some leftover .090" (2.5mm) thick plexiglass that I cut the same size as the glass panels in the Milsbo cabinet. (And very close to your dimensions.) I wanted to see how much the plexiglass would bow in the middle when supporting just itself. It bowed quite a lot. I like shoopdogs idea to support the plexiglass with glass bottles. At this point in time I don't need the extra shelves but I will soon as I complete more builds. When that time arrives, I'll decide to have some glass cut or use plexiglass. -
Beautiful, especially that flawless paint job!

+1 on what everyone has said. Amazing work! -
Wow, that is beautiful! The trim details especially around all the glass is amazing.

Sweet! Nice color and stance.

Lovin' the paint and wheels also! And the engine detailing! Can I ask what the color is?

I had a diecast one (an 1800 GT) as a kid, a Corgi Toy. I don't remember mine having a driver figure though. Hoping that one in 1/24 or 1/25 would be available.

Cool car Trevor! I've never seen that car before. Here is an article about Frank and the 1600: https://silodrome.com/marcos-gt-plywood-chassis/ Before the Marcos 1600,Frank was involved in the development and design of the de Havilland Mosquito airplane, also known as the “Wooden Wonder.”
