  1. I do love that car and the paint really works on it.
  2. The wheels are kit supplied. I'm looking foreword to seeing your wrecker.
  3. This is my latest project. I started with a 61 Ford 2 door hardtop, and made a couple of minor alterations. 1961 Ford Galaxie 4 door sedan.
  4. I've never tried it, but one thing to remember is to always experiment on scrap pieces first. Let us know what you think of it.
  5. The side mirrors were built by placing the top bars on first and letting them dry completely, and then building down from there; one piece at a time. The stacks are very well known to everybody. They are simply cut down Ford L series, stuck in the Western Star's muffler. They sure look better than the stock Ford units.
  6. Sean I just put up a White Western Star in the Under Glass section. I made a couple of minor changes to it, but maybe it will help to inspire you.
  7. That would rock. I made the engine in it look more like a 340 6pack, but more muscle would really be cool. Doobie you did a very nice job on yours.
  8. This is my latest creation; a White Western Star. It's built mostly box stock except for lengthening the chassis, extending and altering the sleeper, adding fuel and plumbing lines, adding interior detail, changing to duel exhaust, adding rear fenders, and adding rear loading lights. Paint is Champagne Gold and Flat Black with a three coat overspray of Florida Roadstar Orange over both colors.
  9. Here's one that I use in my avatar. It's just your basic truck repair shop wrecker.
  10. This is where I'd come to look for it. I hardly ever go over to the "big boys". I don't have anything against them; I just don't have room for them, so I never think about them.
  11. Dave you got it. I missed those when I was looking, because every time I go to Hank's site, I forget what I'm looking for, and spend hours just looking at all the cool truck pictures. That old Mack L crane is "spot on" to what I'm remembering. There are several other pictures on that page that will also be helpful. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate your help.
  12. Casey, that's very close. What I remember would be much older as I think it was even old when I saw it. The big difference that I remember is that the control cabin, or whatever it was called, was more of a box and covered the engine area as well. Where tht crane "tower" is solid except the round holes, the one I remember was an open series of triangles. Thanks for sharing that picture. It will help me to get a start.
  13. I remember a truck that ran around my hometown in Iowa that was a standard conventional daycab truck, but mounted on the rear was a large crane, but this one had a rotating box type cab with a motor of some sort contained within it. The boom was a narrowing series of triangles. I was a teenager when I saw it, so this memory is from many years ago, and I'm not sure that I'm describing it well. I've never seen one since either. Does anybody have any idea what this was called or have any pictures of such a rig? I'd like to build a model of it.
  14. The steps and elevator ready for the outside, and a portable monitor fresh from the paintbooth. Checking out positioning for the steps and elevator. The elevator will be displayed in the lowered position so as to not block the interior view. Final positioning will wait until it enters the display case.
  15. I hope you ahd a happy Birthday, and that the Plastic Gods were very good to you.
  16. I agree that this will be a cool subject for a build.
  17. This one looks like a fun build, and yes, I'm waiting for updates too.
  18. It's starting to actually look like a trailer. Te generator unit on the front may not look very impressive, but it sure took a lot of work to get it right,
  19. It has a very natural look to it, so much so that it could be the real thing. Did you also include the smell?
  20. I sem to remember reading someplace or hearing something about natural gas lines causing earthquakes. I wonder how true that is, and if some of these could then be related to that cause?
  21. That is impressive for only your second model.
  22. This is more real than real. You have excellent workmanship.
  23. Thanks Larry. That would have been too easy. I googled tank trailers, and never thought of adding milk to it. I tried Hanks truck pictures, but we all know what happens when we go there. LOL
