  1. She did some very nice building on that Vette. Hopefully this will not be her last.
  2. My 60 Cadillac was some sort of a dusty pink color. My 60 Chevy was yellow.
  3. I'm not real familiar with Canadian versions of American cars, but I am familiar with the amount of work it takes to change a 2 door into a 4 door, and George, you did a fine job on this one.
  4. Your hope has been successful. I like it.
  5. The only thing that keeps me from thinking you've got a shrink ray, is that this model is even better than the real thing. That is one beautiful work of art.
  6. This one has the look of having been through a flood. That's some very good weathering.
  7. Mercy sakes alive!!! Now I know how come Ma made such fast grocery store runs.
  8. I like your decals. The whole rig is just dripping with class.
  9. WOW, what a cool looking ride! Chevy should have made it. Welcome back to the hobby.
  10. Other than your back wing windows being a little small, it came out very nice. 4 door conversions are not as easy as they look.
  11. This one is a very basic Impala, much as would have been purchased by a grandparent type person.
  12. I don't concern myself with whether something will be around in the future. Times change, and with them, so do interests. I just enjoy what is available now, and thank the Plastic Gods that it is available. I do what I can to promote the hobby, and steer clear of any talk or actions that might lead others to thinking that this is a "nowhere bound" hobby. The best way to encourage others to enter the hobby, and therefore, assure a future for it, is to refer to it in a positive manner. I thank the model companies for not giving up on us, and for their renewed vigor, I also thank those that supply forums for us to share our work, which is probably one of the biggest assets in the revival of the hobby. I appreciate those that not only share their models with us, but share the build process, allowing us to learn new techniques. You see, it takes everybody working together to keep a hobby alive. We have that now. Enjoy it while it's here.
  13. Since we're complaining about added detail parts, might I toss in emblems. These things can be a real pain to BMF.
  14. Welcome Larry. It's good to have you.
  15. The cab does have some issues. I make sure that my cab sections fit as tight as possible by sanding them on a flat surface. Any fill that I do, is done from the rear to minimize the amount of front sanding. The instructions indicate attaching the grill to the body in the body assembly stage, and then connecting it to the chassis. This can be troublesome. I attach the grill to the chassis in the chassis assembly. I then slide the body onto the grill in the body assembly stage.
  16. Thanks. I'm also saving the information and drawings for this one, for a future build. Please do post more drawings. Thanks
  17. I'm no expert, but I noticed that you didn't get any responses, and I didn't want you to think that nobody cared. There's a Mack museum in or around Pennsylvania someplace. I only visited it once, and that was like 20 years ago, and I was visiting several other museums at the same time, so my memory is fuzzy. You might try contacting them. The people that operated it were very nice to my group, and we were able to get some good detail shots of trucks. There should also be a Mack club that might be able to give you information on people with trucks that might be attending truck shows in areas around you. I know this isn't much help, but it's all that I have to offer. Good luck.
  18. Back in the 90s, somebody in Knoxville Iowa built an early 70s Camaro into a wagon. Thank goodness I only saw it a few times, because they didn't do as good of a job as the renderings here.
  19. I like the way you got clean lines around the sleeper doors. Those things always give me fits.
  20. The vehicle looks good, and the rest is coming along fine.
  21. How many remember these from the early AMT Peterbilt kits? I've had a lot of people who've never seen them, ask about them, so I thought I'd share with you.
  22. Oh, well, so now it's from Iowa! I was born and raised in Iowa, and I can assure you that I saw many rigs just like this one. You nailed it.
  23. Someplace I've got a picture taken at a late-nineties car show in Des Moines Iowa, of this car. The great part about it, was that my daughter was allowed to pose with it.
