  1. Going thru all the posts now. Found a couple that caught my interest. AND IT WILL BE ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT!
  2. All those items are now being sent for auction. Sitting at the shelf caused a lot of damage.
  3. If you become addicted to it I will deny all the way to the electric chair being the instigator...
  4. Goodwill is a chain of stores that sell items that people donate. Probably there is something like it over there.
  5. Now I am into Goodwill... until it gets destroyed also. Saw an item with a reserve price. Everything they auction off is donated, so it is pure greed. BTW they don't ship outside the US.
  6. Been working on it solving issues that I created myself. No visible progress so far. Suicidal I guess...
  7. There I go into another rabbit hole... and crazy ideas...
  8. I was into ebay from the beginning (late 90s) when you could get very nice deals on strange/old stuff, but then it got turned into a mess of dealers and scalpers. So no more...
  9. Thanks!. Right now is on the WIP pile...
  10. I am having a similar problem with a diecast hood that had an opening that I filled: after filing the gap between the hood and filler piece running a nail on the joint and looking at it unpainted looks and feels great, but after painting there is a pesky line that keels showing up no matter what.
  11. There are also soldering materials that melt at different temperatures that allow to solder things on top of previous assemblies without disturbing them.
  12. Very nice!. Probably an unexpected benefit of the exhausts pointing up was an increase in downforce.
  13. A conundrum I have is with the body - the chrome detail around the windows and wheel arches is very fine and I am frightened that the separation line for the foiling will be lost. Has anyone scribed along these lines and to what success. I read somewhere about putting chrome foil before the color paint. The chrome would show up when polishing.
  14. Did not shorten the front, just a new flat grille.
  15. Inspired by actual utes but not an exact model of any, more like a plausible one.
  16. My problem is that I start something at full steam, then run into a problem that I can't figure out right on, so I start another thing, same happens, and so on. Eventually I find a solution for what stalled me and keep going. Last time I counted I have like 20 projects on stand-by.... not counting the ones still cooking in my mind. Other times I start something and then keep adding "features" that vastly complicate and delay the original project. Life...
  17. Too late I figured out that I should have glued the walls to the floor instead to the roof. Now working inside is something I would wish to my enemies.
  18. Slightly??
  19. I, being retired, follow the old sage advice: 1. Don't do today what you can leave for tomorrow 2. When you feel like working stay in bed until it's over.
  20. There is an old story from when NASCAR was known as "cheaters paradise". The Sunoco Camaro was said to have been acid-dipped so much that they got holes in the roof so they put vinyl. It was the only NASCAR ever with vinyl roof AFAIK, so there should be some true on that.
  21. Today I figured out that I should had attached the walls to the floor instead to the roof. Now everything is harder. Live, learn, forget and do the same stupid thing again and again. Older but not wiser...
  22. I saw at least 3 different Toros, and the roofless also.
  23. Don't hold your breath: has been like that for at least 10 years...
  24. Thanks. Body color is Custom Green Metallic Flake Testors 1630T. Now pondering about the interior. Will be 2 tone same green and Moon White from Home Depot, but have to decide how to do the door panels and dash: green on white or white on green. Decisions, decisions...
  25. A few weeks ago I found 2 1904 Mercedes for around $7 at Goodwill, both damaged. Made one good one and had enough parts to make a racer version... that is started and sitting in the WIP growing pile. BTW Goodwill has an auction page. Interesting finds there both in diecasts and kits, but BUYERS BEWARE has to be kept in mind. The people that lists the items usually don't have the foggiest idea about what they are posting.
