been messing with this.It was a cab that had a failed paint job and got striped ,then modified for a flat top vit, then put in a box and forgotten.Decided to do something with it a few months ago for a group build elsewhere.Changed plans about the sleeper. This time around it will have a crawl through 36 from an old amt kit.stretched it out and now have the interior done ,paint is next.Interior has Camaro pace car seats with matching door panels.Scratch built diamond tuft headliner and rear wall Retro glitter steering wheel as well

mistermodel replied to Superpeterbilt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got it from a guy you know....Ray. We've been computer chatting, trading ,swapping, and meeting for a long time now. Not as long as you though. Had to jump on it.It was opened, the box has some wear, but I don't collect boxes. -

Ive seen a few of the different trucks.one with funky looking tanks and another had a bunk with the kit rear frame mods. The thing is that this kit has a 72 inch spread and I'm from Ontario where there was lots of them, they are still used some what .I like the chassis and a few of the custom features more than that its a pete.it will be a heavy hauler for sure.spoke wheels?? -

I just got a bill signs pete last week.Great deal $50.00.Just proves you don't have to pay the huge money people think these things are worth. No need for a picture everyone knows what they are.Not sure what to do with it yet, seeing that its not true to the prototype it wont be a bill signs replica. -
I myself wouldnt worry about it cause you cant see the suspension in the photo, unless you buy the book or movie and maybe find out who would know.I would say that truck was an owner operator not a company fleet truck because its fancier than the group photo.Notice the straight pipe , slightly shorter tanks , and wheelbase than the kit.ust enough room the fit the reefer in between the cab and trailer .I say build it Jim

I've been working on one for a couple days.I've built lots of the old amt,but this has got to be the worst one in terms of flash, and miss aligned molds. Just getting the differentials lined up was a massive chalange.I know they can be built nice and from looking at some build ups I notice the exhaust, intake and the rad give people issues.I think I'll need to mock up the stacks, with supports, intake pipes with air cleaner, and turbo and intake manifold all at one to get every thing lined up.I could see this kit discouraging a beginner so bad it would go in the trash

in your case the front (shutters) ,sides, top and bottom tanks would be silver or alum. color. The fins on the back side would be black.Kenworth used a lot of fiberglass including the fan shroud. These were unpainted, some brochures show a greenish almost Detroit diesel color, but I think a tannish cured fiberglass color would be better.

Front hubs chassis colour and for the rearI'd go white spokes and rims myself with a grey spacer ring because the front rim is white.A little detail work on the bolts and lugs ,good to go.Seeing the chassis is blackk .black spokes would also work well, again a little detailing goes a long way
