  1. lakeville just south of burnsville. most of my time growing up was spent in minneapolis.I first saw that dio in the 89 contest annual which was about when I got "serious" about models and discovered the magazines which opened up a whole new world.for some reason that particular dio captured my attention it's always been one of those that I wanted to emulate.btw I wasn't sure where exactly the picture was but I found it in the first book I looked in and boy at that contest there were alot of heavy hitters. at least alot of guys that were doing top notch work.well keep up the good work talk to you later
  2. kinda strange...I usually sell or give away most of the models I have built, but still have the origional instruction sheets for'em all
  3. thank you very much ,now I can move on with my life.well maybe..... now I need to find another one to build perhaps as an auto transporter like the european race teams used in the 50's and 60's or a tow truck or a camper or a missle launcher or or or dang maybe I need more than 1 more.oh I forgot the obvious choice box stock you know for posterity. thanks again for your help. btw the racers wedge fits on the back almost perfectly.
  4. See this is what I'm talking about it looks like a gm or maybe a dodge or aaarggghh if you have to guess about what year would this truck be my initial guess was mid 60's but then I think maybe earlier .
  5. the first thing I do is figure out a way to make the model so complicated that it will never be completed .or I just start with the major sub assembilies which allows me options of working on whichever area suits my fancy. I save the painting for last if it requires alot of bodywork if it is a straight forward build painting the body early on helps keep the motivation up.
  6. <img src="http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii123/randx0/models031-1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> can any one tell me what this truck is .the kit is pretty basic I just want to see or at least know what the prototype looks like thanks in advance for your help
  7. I think it's brilliant. sure beats moving a wire hanger around and despite your best efforts have the piece fall off .
