at first I thought it was pricey for just a wing and mufflers and I couldn't tell if it was P E or not .well it is all plastic however you get two complete wings, two seats four steering wheels and three different designs of mufflers you get two of each so you can apply these to dual exhaust systems if you desire .I'm not up on the import scene so I can't say what the prototypes are but everything here is pretty decent. the wings are probably as good as you can get in plastic and when you consider that a photo etch wing set with only one wing is 12.00 this set becomes a relative bargain .I'm glad I took the risk and made the purchase I wish the foreign companies would do a better job showing what is in the box, just putting the number of pieces would help me determine if a kit might be worth it .also the decals are well done and I apologize for the poor photos (someone messed with the settings, who me?and I don't know how to fix it) I hope this helps people that have seen this and thought about it but just couldn't decide based on the lack of info on the box.

hey that is really cool I always forget how sweet those rear fenders are. this looks like it was extremely fun .

I really like these kits, after I built these for the review I took them apart and left them out when I got up in the morning they were put together and being fought over.quick tip if you have more than one interested kid get 2 mach 5s.glad you liked it and watch the language.

pretty cool.what are you going to use for wheels.?these old classics are hard to customize but you seem to be on the right track . good luck.

I don't have all the answers but perhaps I can help if you let us know what kind of car and which model kit as there are probably numerous ways to accomplish this. there are several factors that are important like where the front is cut how much over hang in the front. off the top of my head I don't recall any articles done on this subject .but maybe someone else does .

to be honest this was something my wife found, but I noticed a group of 4 snap togehers hiding in the back row at target too. I am however glad to be of service.

this is some of mine. something is wrong with me i should build more and buy less. -
thank you guys so much for the info I got enough to at least get the ball rollin. In three responses I got a brief history ,perfect pictures of stock and hot rodded engine and even some inspiration on other subjects. now thats what I call efficacious. I am refering to the long ram ,am I correct in assuming I can put these on the 426 in the lindberg dodge 330 kit?because I have three sets of the long rams and need to find the correct block to put them on. or at least close enough to fake it . I am by no means a rivet counter but I do like to keep it close.is the engine in the ala cart kit the same engine? what about the 58 belvedere or the 57 300 c,or can you think of any other kits like didn't the 50 ford have a chrysler in it or is that the merc I seem to have forgotten what came with what.also I assume that these pieces that I do have came from the revell 62 kits. perhaps I will dig the rams out and get some pics. one more thing this looks like a fun engine to detail as it looks like a little will go a long way plus most of the visible detail is right on top of the engine instead of being hidden by a huge air cleaner.

My kindly and loving wife called me from a local car show tell me about some models that were for sale.as she read the models off she said 70 baldwin motion chevelle,I scanned my memory banks and realized I hadn't heard of this one I asked what scale she said 1/25. my reply was really that sounds like all new tooling then(the snap kit is pretty decent)I would have figured it was a retool of the heavy chevy but since it clearly stated 1/25 I was willing to pay msrp .when it arrived in my hot little hands the jig was up the instruction sheet says 1/24 so it is a retool.it is a decent kit with the right parts mostly but this is the only situation I would have paid the asking price,I just thought well there's a new 1/25 nova coming out so why not a chevelle oh well I'm not disappointed with the kit just that it wasn't what I thought based on what the box told my wife.

9.99 at target, same 25 piece format as the mach 5. basiclally an unassembled toy it doesn't go together as easily as the mach 5 but still pretty simple.my kids love it because they can play with it. it is pretty sturdy. the sticker on the hood is kind of tricky adult help will be necessary. I like the lines of the mach 5 better but this has potential .

I believe this was available in the early 60's ,and I think it looks cool and would like to incorporate into a project or 2 . how are these plumbed and where would the throttle cable go /be routed to the firewall?could you realisticly put this type of setup on a later style engine like a hemi,or what engine block would be appropriate that has a little more detail than original kits?what years was this setup available and in what cars, also how many different model kits came with this set up?could they be set up with different carbs like newer or race carbs?I saw a this set up on a street rod once and thought it was cool and different but I didn't take any pics. any help info or ideas for this setup will be appreciated. oh yeah I have one complete engine with this set up but it is kind of a glue bomb. I also have a couple extra of the cross rams themselves but have no idea what carbs go on them or how they really look in the stock configuration . I really want to put them to good use

nice work. I like the sharpie idea, and those wheels look better than I thought they would, stickin in the 440 is also a nice addition.over all it looks like it was a fun build keep it up!

hey, me too please. what kind of monster have you created ? randx0@yahoo.com

this is one of those models that just looks so right it is just plain fun to look at and is what I like about the hobby great job
-
it comes with stickers the m on the hood and 2 #5s it really is just an unassembled toy but one that I had to have there is also a mach 6 which isn't quite as flowing in design but I could see some kind of crazy kit bashing possibilities waiting to be exploited. I like these because my kids really like to build models but are a little to rough with the finished product and that is not an issue with these my two year old is capable of repairing any parts that may fall off.and my 5 year old as capable of building it without any assistance after I had built it and took it apart leaving the smaller parts still attached so there ya go.

Pinewood Derby "racer'

I just remembered a tip which I think actually works once the wheels are on, spin the wheels to get them "seated" on each axle. it's kind of like custom fitting each wheel to it's axle. you can't spin them to much I know it sounds like an april fools joke but it really isn't. -
looks pretty sweet to me I didn't even notice the mold marks 'til you said something. I really do like the color on that truck it does have the look.
-
welcome aboard. have fun and don't get to ambitious right away take your time and try out a new technique or two as you progress try not to do it all the first time out. have fun, peace!

Now I can say I finished something in the last 5 years
-
This is basically a unassembled toy but it's right around 1/24th scale .it's unimpressive 25 piece parts count is not a challenge at all and it's made out of a softer plastic. not alot of detail at all. if you have kids that like to bug you while you model here is your answer for 10 bucks at target you have a durable model that should keep the younger ones at bay for a while . I put mine together in less than 10 minutes. also there is a Mach 6 available I'll be picking that one up tomorrow .
-
I think you should talk your boss into changing the wheels on his car instead because for some reason I like the ones you picked better. if you don't do it I will .(well I'll start to but then not finish it )
-
fablueous color what brand is it? please don't say custom mixed. I dig it did that decal come with the kit ? I haven't seen one of these at my lhs yet. hopefully mine will turn out half as nice as yours.
-
well if I squint it looks like you did a pretty good job.did you paint the window trim or use bare metal foil?I like the use of kit parts especially the wheelie bars and parachute I like that pic the best . hope you had fun with this one and I look forward to seeing the next one keep it up and if you have questions just ask.
-
nice color choice do you have plans for decals or lettering?
-
holy mother of all that's stock! the restraint you must have exercised to not put aftermarket wheels or a rare engine/color combination hats off to you sir I know I couldn't do it. nice work and consistent detailing
