  1. cool I like the color scheme keep up the good work.
  2. O.K. first you have to get footage of the competition, next no need to worry about aerodynamics the cars don't get going fast enough for that to come into play weight is the most important thing, check the official rules as some don't allow the use of the precut kits you get at the hobby stores. just have fun .I felt really bad building my sons pinewood derby car all by myself, but hey I .... We won. Just kidding ,well not really, it's not about winning so come up with a cool design as that's what I remember from my scouting days was the cool styling that showed up especially that metallic blue streamlined job. good luck
  3. this is kinda neat to see other peoples inspirations and who they look up to or learned from it seams that maybe alot of us have learned from alot of the same people via the magazines that cover our hobby.I didn't join a club until 3 years ago so naturally the mags are where you learn from and all in all I think maybe I need to include them as my heros as well.

nice work I like the top one. keep it up, hopefully you didn't lose a step in the last ten years got any of old old cars?
  5. nice work looks like it was fun to build. now how about a traler and tow vehicle to haul it or another modified to race it
  6. In no particular order and just off the top of my head these names come to mind I apologize but this could easily become a top 100 list 1)Mark Gustavson has taught me how to do all those things I thought I never would with his articles on customizing also he's pretty dedicated to the hobby 2)Ken Hamilton if I had a nickel for the helpful tips and inspiring builds, also he likes to poke fun at Gustavson.3)Juha Airio totally clean builds, where does he get his reference material?his builds are what I want mine to end up like.4)Terry Jessee his light commercial articles were always inspiring and informative 5)Tim Boyd 'nuff said 6)Dean Milano 7)Bill Geary he's like Elvis just arriving to the building(as opposed to having left the building)
  7. not that I have a problem with it but I think the top of list would have to include vintage ferrari's
  8. nice job you obviously have great insight because whenever I look at that kit I come up with nothing . you on the other hand didn't seem to have that problem bravo sir bravo.
  9. you're doing a great job nice clean builds ,I checked out your other builds too. they all are really good . I think you should give bare metal foil a shot,it takes some practice but the results are worth it. keep up the great work
  10. looks like it's going to be sweet. let's hope the front quarters go on ok.
  11. really nice work it didn't even occur to me that it was that small 'til I got to the last picture,I must read faster.great job
  12. great build ! what kit did you start with and where did the wheels and tires come from?thanks R
  13. Inspiring, nice interior and I love the flames.
  14. novas are one of my all time faves. I have one that I built when I was about 15 that held it's own until my kids discovered it. So I too am restoring an old nova I'm just gluing the stuff back on and leaving it for posterity.this nova is kind of the starting point when I started taking the hobby seriously.keep us posted on the progress.
  15. what kind of body are you chopping?for cutting purposes I use the back of a #11 xacto blade,a jewelers saw ,hobby saw, dremel moto tool or whatever tool is best suited for the job.the most important thing to remember is take your time and work slowly. also I'm sure there is link somewhere in this forum explaining top chops. hope this helps good luck
  16. just kidding on that last post, nice work. it's funny how you come to these kind of conclusions in the modeling world,I've been trying to get a first gen vette to go with a first gen mustang, vette front mustang rear but the middle is always the hard part glad to see an amalgam underglass top notch .
  17. you are insane.everybody knows this car doesn't come in that color.also I think you put the front hood scoop on backwards.
  18. looks pretty sweet,it's nice when you have the real car available to you for reference.
  19. it just looks right, great work.
  20. looks pretty good to me.the only thing missing is dirt.seriously though I always felt that his passing was way too soon.are those the decals that came with the kit or did you have to do some mixing and matching?
  21. great job and execution,looks fabulous.what's next?
  22. great list,I think 87 sums it up.
  23. Nice work . keep it up.my kids are experts at creating junkyards too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. I'm such a boobs. how'd I miss that.
  25. I totally couldn't find the non kid friendly ones ,however, there are lots of great pics.also the dodge is a great van to customize I wish more people would build them.As for my own excuse I don't finish anything so suffice it to say I have several started.
