looks sweet, what did you use for the chrome strip on the hood?I was watchin' hollywood knights and there is a really cool 40 ford yellow chopped sectioned I think I might try something similar seeing yours is just further inspiration!
great builds and welcome back . you've got a nice clean builds there I would just suggest tryout a new technique that interests you but don't go to crazy trying 4 or 5 new techniques at once .
you make it sound like it just fell together ,so is this a slammer or is there more detail underneath?if there is your sick and should seek help or write a book. Seriously though fantastic work .
I found it on ebay I didn't even know that one existed I just got lucky.it is much easier to find than the dirt hauler because of the north american part I found 2 within a month but have still only seen the dirt hauler twice in a year.I paid abot 30.00 for mine .and thank you for narrowing down the date of manufacture nobody seemed to know exactly when these trucks came out .
my holy grails tend to change as I discover kits that I hadn't heard of previously the latest is the amt dirt hauler but mostly I like discovering stuff I never heard of before recently I found a custom hard top by a company called monte'. early sixties radical cutoms aren't my usual fare but since I have the top I'll give it a go .
dry brushing is done by getting paint on your brush then brushing off most of the paint on a paper towel and then lightly going across a raised surface such as lettering on a tire or dash board details and even trim takes a little practice but should be relativly easy . a black wash is simply black paint thinned way down so that it does not stick to the raised parts but does darken the low spots usually used on grilles almost the opposite of dry brushing because you are wiping off the raised parts during this exercise hope this helps
thanks for your input . I am always amazed at what was coming out that early when you consider the ###### that was being pushed out in the seventies.I also appreciate the fact that you old guys still have the ability to recall such facts J/K. seriously though thanks again I love learning about the history of models.
I have a car mag from aug 1960 and I swear there is a pic of a forty ford coupe it looks like the model but I didn't think this kit came out until later any one know with any certainty when?
that is pretty sweet .I used to not like these kits but now I love them especially the ones that haven't been around for a long time . I'm working on a stingaree that I think with a little tweaking will look pretty good .I would love to see more of these kits built especially ones not built "stock"
I haven't seen many that I like as much as yours .thanks this is a good kit but has always been a stumper as to how to build it. now that I see it can be done perhaps I'll give it a shot thanks for the shot in the arm .
