  1. your obviously having way to much fun .
  2. well the bubble windows would be a nice appetizer and useful for scratch building my own design but also for vent caps on vans and other seventies custom applications. and if the toppers stayed at 15.00 u.s. I would find a use for a couple eventually.I like the idea of a universal size .
  3. I really like this car you did a great job.
  4. I dig it man that is far out .
  5. looks great as usual .like the colors and the design
  6. dull coat ,brushes, reference pictures, art chalks, various dull paints. alot of weathering can be accomplished by varying the sheen of your paint for a car that has been well cared for for twenty years somewhere between gloss and semi gloss should do it .as for the chalks it's cheaper to get them from a craft store than a hobby store ,and with these you basically just grind some off the chalk apply with a dry brush but you should plan on sealing it with some sort of clear coat so it doesn't wipe off. as for colors it just depends, this is where the reference comes in , some time the weathering calls for contrasting colors like tan mud on a white car but in your example maybe adding some chalk close to the body color mixed with dark gray or a light brown would give you that not so new look around the wheel wells and window posts or anywhere else that dirt will accumulate. practice is the main thing and there are dozens of ways to skin this cat. hope this is enough to point you in a direction that is helpful.mostly though experiment and use what works for you good luck
  7. sounds great and not cheap.I would like to get my hands on the bubble windows.I really like the designs you have come up with.
  8. Jairus,I have the gullwing doors hinged already and they need to extend a bit further than these hinges would allow.however thanks for the refresher I had forgotten about that tip.

  16. Thanks Cal, that starts the wheeels turning like maybe I could use metal tube and plastic rod heat swage the plastic rod inside the metal tube to provide friction. that might work but it also might not last very long.
  17. I like the aurora 34 ford boxart, for the most part palmer had wonderful boxart even though their kits were turds, and hubley had neat art too
  18. One of my current projects has stalled because I just can't figure out how to get the gullwings to stay open .I want to make them work and not have to use a prop rod .I thought of using a hinge like on cup car hoods but I don't want the hinge to stick out. and also considered using a tube inside a tube but can't figure how to get it to lock and unlock. any help would be appreciated.
