I did my 14 1/2 years of time in the Army Reserves,Combat engineer combat heavy equipment. We built roads and airstrips, almost any thing with bulldozers and heavy construction equipment. At the same time I worked for a construction company.I was the groundman at one of their asphalt plants for about 5 years. I now work for Utility Trailer MFG.We build refridgerated semi trailers.Been with them since '98.I'm classified as a material handler now.(tow-motor driver)It will freeze you to death in the winter and burn you up in the summer though.I can still pick up a dime off the floor with my forklift too.Every bit of this has been nightshift also.3:30pm till 2:00 am.Three day weekends rule. On the side I'm a yard care technician. I've got 5 yards that I mow on weekends for extra spending money, plus it gets me out of the house for a few hours. Now the people at Social Security are telling me that my retirement age is 67 now.Don't know what the next 25 years might bring. Ya'll think of me when you see a Utility Trailer on interstate, ours have the 3 D.O.T. lights offset to the left above the rear doors. Later bigtim.

Don't forget to have the wiggle pin checked where it holds the wobble shaft in place.

Mopar cars that should be cast!
timc replied to Green Duster's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dodge Aries K-car.2 door -4 door or wagon.YES I'm serious......but they would get the rear wheel drive treatment with a nasty V8 up front. I can wish can't I.bigtim -
This is just simply the most awesome-est thing that I have ever had the pleasure of viewing.I have done some free-hand mill work myself but it was with an Industrial size mill. So I know to do it in this scale is a great feat. I wonder if the mini mills from micro-mark could or would give the same results? I could sourse the aluminum stock from the scrap we throw out at work.We will find out come income tax time. BILL YOU RULE!!!! Can't wait to see what you do with the chassis.bigtim

Revell / Monogram '32 ford kits
timc replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I voted other because I like them all and have multiples of each one.I think parts count wise the 5 window is at the top of the list. -
I say real but with caution.

Casey I couldn't find Sandpebble beige but I got real close with tamiya light tan.As for the white walls I won't be using them, the wheels wouldn't fit in them.Instead I'm using the kits goodyear polygasses.should have more progress later. Thanks for all comments.

Does Anyone Stash Paint?
timc replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I too have the bug when it comes to stashing paint. After 16 years it still works ....wellsome of it does.I've been using the same bottle of stop light red for over 14 years now. but I only use it once in a blue moon though. The same goes for the turn signal amber. -
How Many Here Profit From Your Model Car Hobby?
timc replied to Johnny K's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My boss asked me thursday night ,how much would I charge him to build a replica of his 66 Mustang? He want's to set it on a turntable on the air cleaner during car shows. My reply was, If you pay for the kit and the body color spray paint..nothing.And that price included engine wiring and detailing and all the other little goodies. If he can cover the kit and the main color paint I already have the rest of the paints and detailing supplies. So why charge him for something that I already got and enjoy doing? Just my 2 cents.bigtim -
Anyone remember American Satco? If somebody could get their hands on those molds we would be happy again. What about Alan at MA'S resin? When you stop to think about it........After you pay $5-6 per set of aftermarket,$1 more per kit doesn't seem that bad. Now on the other hand.... Tire details should be there already. AMT is doing wonderful with their approach on all this, why can't revellogram? What about the Cooper brand or Cyclone, whitch is made by Cooper? Let's hope they get the tires right in the upcoming ratroaster, and I think those are Coker tires anyway. When ya'll figure this one out let me know would ya?

I've never really been politically correct. It is what it is... history is history.... you see it how you want to see it... and every one has an opinion... It's history not hatred. -

I'll be following this. I have a couple of questions. 1. Could this be done using the Tamiya Focus rally kit? 2. Where to get the Ken Block decals and the set you have to change the numbers? Thanks and keep up the excellent work.
