  1. Where's my new kit? I've been good. Put me down for a Phantom van kit.
  2. OK ,thanks Frank. But are they out on shelves now?
  3. Whoa now, wait a minute..... Is the AMT Phantom van out now?I gotta have just one of those.I built one 20 some odd years ago.Does it have the six wheeler option in it still?bigtim
  4. I say real. The fins on the wheels are to hard to get right in small scale.
  5. Can I have the spare practice body? This is awesome.
  6. Thanks for your reply Mike. The paints were stored inside the house, in shoe boxes in the closet. Might just have to de-cant and air brush them if they won't spray. Thanks, bigtim.
  7. I was wondering if there is a shelf life for spray paints.I have some that are almost 20 years old, never opened or used. Most of them are testors enamels and the old Tru-Match racing colors. Also a few laquers that are nearing 7-8 years old. Can it or will it go bad? Will it lose it's fizz like a soda pop? Thanks for any information on this.bigtim
  8. I have over 350 kits in my stash. 2 works in progress. 4-5 started and back in the box. 150 cans of assorted spray paints.(does it go bad?) 200+ little bottles of paints. Close to 100 pieces of after-market stuff(read as wheel sets count as 1 piece). Eight different airbrushes and one compressor. One priceless jewelers saw, made in germany, that was given to me by my friend who is a jeweler. $300-$400 worth of tools and other supplies. All of this I have aquired over the past twenty or so years. Value of replacement for home owners insurance $10K.(remember the stuff was cheaper 20 years ago,the $10K covers inflation) Time that I have to actually build is about 2 hours per month right now. My wife does not or will not complain because in her words"There's a lot of other bad stuff he could do with the money" and also I have something to show for it.I don't do drugs but "there's nothing like a good glue buzz early in the morning".LOL just kidding guys my workspace is well ventilated. now for the addmitance. I am addicted to models and I am happy. thanks bigtim.
  9. I've got the same one as the top picture. L700,flatbed and 40 ford. All parts still on trees and sealed bags.It could be had for the right three kits.bigtim.
  10. I say real. There is just too much detail.
  11. Thanks Michael. After checking it today. The paint is really smooth but not glossy or flat.Kind of semi glossy lookin. Geuss I'll be clear coating this one later. Thanks guys for the help.bigtim.
  12. Thanks Jonathan. Does the paint normally do this?I'm new to tamiya paints,I use mostly testors model masters or one coats.Never had any problems with them.Tamiya had the color for the low buck sleeper look that I'm after. It laid down really smooth though, just not glossy. Thanks bigtim.
  13. I have a question about the tamiya paint.I painted my 69 dart with Tamiya TS-48 Light sand color.10 minutes after I got done the paint has no signs of gloss. Was this supossed to be a glossy paint? Or will it require a clear coat? I have a can of their clear coat but it has the same TS designation. Will this be a glossy clear or should I use the testors one coat wet look clear? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I am not too familiar with Tamiya paints having only used the flat or matt colors twice before. Sorry if I put this in the wrong place, but I need some answers badly.Thanks,bigtim.
  14. Looks like Casey's work.I have a set of the larger diameter wheels that I goy from him.bigtim

  16. I grew up in Indian Trail NC.Was a small town south of Charlotte. I hear now that you can't tell where Charlotte stops and Matthews and Indian Trail start. Was just 5 mins north of Monroe. We moved to Virginia when I was 15.I've been to the old neighborhood one time since, but have travelled through Charlotte many times over the years.East Independance Boulivard was only two lanes each direction when we left,I hear now it has six each way. Might be a good road trip one day.bigtim.
