I was thinking to myself the other day that the UK didn't really have a customising scene in the 50's to anywhere near the extent of the one in the States at that time. That got me thinking what if there was a budding Barris in the UK in the 50's who decided to build a leadsled using traditonal techniques on a British car of the period. Not many cars to choose from in kit form but I thought that the Tamiya Jaguar MkII might fit the bill an set to work.with the "torch" & "lead". The body's been converted to 2 door chopped hardtop and the the front & rear ends have been "tidied up" to make them a little less "busy". The fender skirts are from evergreen plastic sheet. Thanks for looking.

Hi all, picked this one up on E-Bay (from Poland !). Just went for a mild custom look - only body mods were removal of door handles, emblems etc and a lowering job. Colours are HOK Violette & Zero Ford Diamond White. Wheels are Pegasus Sovereigns. As ever, thanks for looking Andy

Hi all This is the Jigoro Jigorou version with the addition of the engine from the stock kit. The only changes I made were the wheels which are Aoshima 18 inch WedsSport SA-70'S deepened with trim rings from a set of BBS wheels and c/f decal on the hood. Color is Peugeot Blaze Yellow Metallic from Zero Paints. Thanks for looking Andy

Thanks Dante, Don't think I've experienced any problems with the recent Aoshima kits that I've built - occasionally the front/rear bumpers might need a bit of "tweaking" but not on this particular kit. It all went together with no problems. One plus is that you get front & rear window masks for painting the window trim - that's one job I hate doing "manually". The panel lines were painted with thinned matt black enamel paint. Cheers Andy PS/ thanks for the replies guys - appreciate it

Hi all Not much to tell you about this one - OOB build with just a change to BBS rims. colour is Zero Paints Brilliant Orange. Thanks for looking Cheers Andy

Thanks James, I haven'y got any pictures I'm afraid, I ditched the kit supplied suspension and used metal axles - not very sophisiticated I admit, but it got the look I wanted. Cheers Andy ps/ Thanks for the other replies guys - much appreciated.

Hi all I've got a bit of a thing for Jo-Han at the moment & the reasons for building this one were 1) I was looking for something a little different in terms of subject matter and 2) I haven't got the inclination to build full detail kits at the moment. It's basically out of the box apart fom the side trim & door handles being removed plus the addition of a tube grille made from Evergreen plastic rod. The tyres are from the Revell Mercury kit plus 5 spokes from the spares box.. Colour is Honda Fresh Lime Metallic from Zero Paints.Unfortunately some of the chrome rubbed off the bumpers so I've had to re-do them in Alclad. Next up is the Jo-Han 63 Olds starfire. Thanks for looking Andy

Hi all Made some progress on this one, I've polished out the clearcot & added the Bare Metal Foil to the trim.. I've also painted the front & rear bumpers with Alclad 2 chrome - not perfect but slightly brighter in real life than in the pictures. Thanks for looking Andy

Hi Joe Replicas & Minatures do a set in their Rik Hoving line (RH-306)- the frame & bezel come as seperate parts with clear lenses. You get two styles of bezel one with the small light included and a custom ribbed one with just the headlight http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr63/Andymjones/Purplemerc3.jpg Hope that helps Cheers Andy

Pleasure John - hope it helped. Managed to spray the basecoat this morning, Zero paints dry matt so just giving the paint time to gas out then I'll spray the clear. Thanks for looking Andy

Thanks John, I made the tube grill from Evergreen .040" rod, I started by tapeing the 3 vertical supports to a cutting mat (the lines on the cutting mat were helpful in ensuring that the strips were vertical) then I cut the horizontal bars over-sized and glued them to the supports. I tried to ensure that the gap between each rod was constant by sliding a X-Acto blade between the rods and making any adjustments while the glue was still setting. Once it had all dried I bent the grille slightly in the middle to form a vee shape and put the grille over the stock opening & marked out the basic shape of the grille. Then it was just a case of cutting the rod and some gentle sanding of the ends to get them to fit inside the opening Hope that makes sense !. Cheers Andy PS/ Thanks for the interest guys
