  1. Thanks for the interest guys. Spent some time yesterday polishing out the Zero Clear with various grades of micromesh & then Tamiya fine/finish polishing compound. Steve - the wheel centres are sprayed with Zero silver basecoat (although doesn't show too well in the earlier pics) - I'm undecided whether they'd look better with gold centres. Cheers Andy
  2. As the weathers got a bit warmer & drier (plus I have a couple of extra days days off work) I've managed to make a bit of progress - body's been sprayed with Zero Paints Lamborghini Candy Blue basecoat (it's not actually a candy colour - more pearl). I've decided to cop out on the stripes and just keep it a single colour as the front & rear have complicated shapes to mask & I don't want paint creep. Actually managed to get the clearcoat on as well but too late in the day to take any pictures. Wheels are just placed in wheelwells for the time being -sorry for the poor quality pics. Cheers Andy
  3. Hi Brian I have a Revell BRE 240Z kit and that one's LHD (the interior has a racing seat & roll bar) - I'm not sure if the stock version comes with the same interior or a more stock one. The BRE kit doesn't include wing/door mirrors though. Hope above helps a little. Cheers Andy
  4. Hi Brendan The only other Hasegawa kit I've built was their Celica - I was impressed with that one so I think this will be much the same. Cheers Andy
  5. Had this kit lying around for while as I couldn't decide what to do with it. While I was browsing the web I came across this 1:1 : which gave me the impetus a to make a start on it. So far I've added the front spoiler using the one from the Aoshima Jun Prelude kit as a start ing point (still needs a bt of work) & swapped the stock wheels for Aoshima BBS ones - they're only placed under the arches for pic purposes so the rear looks a bit off the vertical. Haven't really thought too much about colour but initially I thought blue with silver racing stripes - I'll post more progress when I'm able to make any- either too wet or too cold for spraying over here @ the moment. Thanks for looking Andy
  6. This is the recent Aoshima ki of the Impul 630R Cedric that I ordered simply because it was something a bit different. TBH it's a bit of a disappointment as it's obviously an older ex-motorised kit with the addition of an engine bay insert with half VG30ET engine and some Recaro front seats thrown in. After trying various types of rims under it I decided to go a slightly different route & build it as a lowrider. Thanks for looking Andy
  7. Thanks for the replies guys regards Andy
  8. Thanks for the replies guys Nick - the CF decal's Scale Motorsports Twill Weave Black on Pewter (SKU: 1024) Brendan - I took the easy way out ! - the kit includes hood, sideskirts, front/rear bumpers http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03986 Cheers Andy
  9. Didn't post any in progress pics of this one through sheer laziness ! & I appreciate it won't be too everybodies taste - it's the Aoshima Car Boutique Club kit with the following additions : AE101 engine from their Initial D kit C/F hood & dash Tamiya racing seat plus harness Aoshima Longchamp XR-4's with stretchwall tyres. Fujimi metal exhaust The colour is Zero pearl white although you wouldn't guess it due to the dull weather. Thanks for looking Andy
  10. This one's a recent Aoshima release in their Super VIP series - it's OOB except for changing the wheels to Leonhardritt 20" Ordens. The colour is Nissan Carbon Grey Metallic from Zero Paints. Thanks for looking Andy
  11. Thanks for the replies guys Cheers Andy
  12. This is the recent Aoshima release of the S13 with a Vertex bodykit. The kit comes kerbside so I decided to use the engine bay from the earlier stock release. It's pretty much OOB except for Fujimi BBS rims & metal exhaust plus Scale Auto Style resin drivers seat. The colour is Ford Radiant Red plus Zero paints pre-thinned clear. All in all a nice kit that went together without any problems. Thanks for looking Andy

    Nissan 350Z

Thanks Craig I'd say that they're pretty similar - I'm working from memory here as my Tamiya build up is in the loft !The one thing I've found with the few Tamiya kits that I've built is that sometimes their clearence's are a bit tight after painting ending up in chipped paint round head'tailights etc (perhaps it's me applying too much paint !). Cheers Andy

    Nissan 350Z

Hi Brendan - in my experience the Zero paint are excellent - one of the best paints that I've tried - the base coat dries very quickly (around 15 minutes) to a matt finish & I find their 1 pack clear easier to apply & polish out than some other paints I've used in the past. Thanks for the reply Regards Andy

    Nissan 350Z

This is the recent Aoshima release as opposed to the Tamiya one - OOB except for swapping the kit supplied TE37 rims for GT-C's. The colour is Zero Paints Nissan Magnetic Black although the the pearl doesn't show in the pics as it's cloudy here . Thanks for looking Andy
  16. Thanks for the positive coments guys - I've got round to finishing the engine bay (still needs a couple of things tidying up). Cheers Andy
  17. Thanks Gray - it's nice to find somebody in favor of my wheel choice - incidentally, although it's an S14, this was the general look I was aiming for. Cheers Andy
  18. Just a couple of pics of the interior - pretty much oob except for SAS recaro drivers seat, steering wheel from my spares box & Mr Model p/e pedals. The main colour is a mix of matt black & white primer with the inserts & seat in Humbrol matt enamel no.60. Needs a bit of tidying up in places. Thanks for looking Andy
  19. Thanks Bill Just a couple of pics with the suspension built up (in the earlier pics the rims were just resting on the inner wheelarches). Thanks for looking Andy
  20. As I have a soft spot for Japanese cars thought I'd make a start on this one - it's the recent Aoshima release which comes kerbside - http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03977 so I plan to use the SR20DET engine from the earlier "stock" release in due course. http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03873 Colour is Ford Radiant Red topped off with Zero pre-thinned clear and rims are Fujimi BBS LM's. I'll post more progress as I make it - thanks for looking Cheers Andy

    Revell 49 Mercury

Thanks James It's the new Revell kit - the louvred hood is an option included in the kit. Regards Andy
  22. I was aiming for a traditional look with this build so it's basically OOB with just some small changes : Replicas & Minatures Caddy air cleaner & valve covers from Monogram 59 Cadillac convertible kit, tyres from the Galaxie 48 Fleetline with kit supplied steelies & Modelhaus (?) single bar flipper hubcaps. The suspension was lowered & colour is Nissan Magnetic Black from Zero Paints (green/purple flecks which doesn't show up too well in the pics) with their pre-thinned clear. Hope you like it & thanks for looking..
  23. Very, very nice Tom Regards Andy
  24. Just a couple of pics of the completed suspension & interior. Thanks for looking Andy
  25. Turned my attention to lowering the suspension as imo the "stock" suspension provided in the kit sits too high. To lower the ride height the mounting points for the metal axles have been moved up into the arches by cutting the front & rear suspension peices and adding styrene. Hopefully pics will explain better: Front Rear Dry run with the revised front & rear suspension pieces in place. Much better imo Thanks for looking Andy
