Hi Craig Thanks for the comments. I must admit the cf tank was something I hadn't considered  . I've had a quick search and it appears that in the 1:1 world cf tanks do exist - apparently they need to have an epoxy fuel proofer applied to the inside of the tank. Cheers Andy

This one's based on the "Torch" kit . As my previous chopper was old school style I thought I'd try something a bit more up to date. I recently built a Vertex Ridge Silvia in Orange with a c/f hood and liked the colour combination so I thought why not a "tuner" chopper ?. The frame is Peugeot Seville Orange and the tank, tins, belt cover & grips have been treated to some Scale Motorsport twill weave CF decal. The seat was narrowed & covered in Model Factory Hiro self adhesive leather cloth. I had a go at adding the various fuel, oil, brake lines etc which were made from various bits of braided hose etc that I had lying around. The Carb came from Replicas & Minatures and the aircleaner is a machined aluminium one. Thanks for looking

Just a quick update - I've decided to have a go at detailing this one with plug/brake/fuel/oil lines etc. I've cleared the cf decal & added it to the chain cover, oil tank & handlebar grips. (CF sends my camera loopy !). The seat has been covered with self adhesive leather from Model Factory Hiro - shouldn't be too long before it's finished. Thanks for looking Andy

Couldn't decide on what direction to go with my 2nd chopper (based on the Torch kit) - I recently completed an orange Nissan S15 Silvia with a c/f hood & liked the colour combination so I thought why not build a "tuner" chopper. The mudguards & tank have been cf'd using Scale Motorsport 1/12th carbon fibre twill weave (bit of a nightmare) & the frame is VW Brilliant Orange. Sorry the pics aren't the best quality. Thanks for looking Andy

Just a quick update on where I am with the front bumper. It's taking a bit more time than I anticipated as it's fairly complicated - nearly there - just needs some final filling & sanding. Hope you all had a good Xmas - thanks for looking Andy

As the weathers stopping me from doing any spraying I thought I'd make a start on this one - it's the recent Aoshima release with engine. It's slightly disappointing as it's only a 1/2 engine but what there is is nicely detailed and should look ok. So far I've roughed out the bodykit with plastic sheet & Tamiya epoxy putty -the front will need lot more work but the general shape is there. Thanks for looking Andy

Here's my first bike build : Cheers Andy
-
Thanks Chris The matt black was automotive paint from Halfords (UK auto parts store) & the green is Tamiya Candy Lime Green Cheers Andy

My idea of an old school/newstalgia chopper based on the R-M Crusader kit with some parts swapping from the Aces wild plus a resin Cadillac aircleaner from Replicas & Minatures. As it's my first bike build I haven't gone in for any extra detailing but I hope you like it -thanks for looking. Cheers Andy

Just a quick update with the scallops sprayed up. Thanks for looking Andy
-
Just a small update - masked up the scallops on the tank using Tamiya masking tape - hope to be able to spray the green on Saturday. Thanks for looking Andy

I'm a dyed in the wool car man but having seen all the RM chopper builds I got the itch - as this is my 1st bike build I'll be keeping things simple but it makes a change from car builds. I'm going for a "retro" look - the frames been sprayed matt black & the wires have been de-chromed and sprayed with Tamiya Candy Lime Green. The air filter is a Replicas & Minatures 1/25 cadillac one. I plan to add some green scallops to the tank. Sorry the pics not the best Thanks for looking Andy

Thanks Bobby - the kit is by Aoshima http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS32596 I think it's a re-issue of an old Doyusha motorised kit - it's pretty basic but builds up ok. Cheers Andy

Another old Japanese build - this is the type of look I based it on: I'm not sure of the correct term for the style in Japan - old school/nostalgia/old car ? Anyway here's the completed pics: Paint is actually pearlescent but no sign of the sun today  Thanks for looking Andy

Thanks for the feeback on this one & the others I've posted recently - much appreciated Regards Andy

Ah nostalgia - I remember seeing these on the road as a kid & have always had a soft spot for 'em. Anyway here's the pics: Thanks for looking Cheers Andy

Thanks Craig - I remember the article - it was a light blue Fleetline from memory - & I've got the mag somewhere so I'll dig it out. Here's two Galaxy kits I built awhile back - the pics are not the best as I was still getting used to taking photos - if you'd like me to get some better pics for your album let me know. Regards Andy
-
I started this one awhile back - it's the Galaxie kit plus a Replicas & Minatures resin body, I originally sprayed it flat black and intended to use steelies & whitewalls but to me the look somehow didn't gel so I've decided to go for a more contemporary look. I've cleared the black with Mr Hobby super gloss & the rims are Aoshima LDX's with trim rings from their Junction Scara rims. At the moment it's only thrown together which is why nothing lines up very well - it'll be kerbside as I'll have to take liberties with the suspension etc to get the wider rims to fit. I'll post more progress as I make it. Thanks for looking Andy

Managed to finish this one off and get some pics - Thanks for looking Andy

Made a start on this one which is the Hasegawa kit - it's going to be OOB except for Aoshima SSR Mk 3 rims & Stretchwall tyres with lowered suspension. Because of the width of the rear tyres I've had to cut out the rear wheelarches which means I've lost the rear suspension attaching points - it won't be a problem as I'll be using brass rod for the rear axle. Paint is Citroen Posidion Blue metallic. Thanks for looking. ps/ sorry the pics are a bit dark Cheers Andy
