  1. Just a quick progress update, I've painted the interior Tamiya flat blue & flat white with a touch of deck tan to tone down the white a bit - I'll post a pic of the interior once it's all together. Also been playing around with the suspension to get it to sit lower. The modifications aren't very elegant but after "C ing" the rear frame and some sanding of the front spring this is how she sits :- Thanks for looking Andy
  2. Thanks Bryan, Yeah I'm planning on a white interior with blue inserts (just to break up the white a bit). Hopefully I'll get a bit more done over ther weekend. Cheers Andy
  3. Thanks for the comemnts guys - much appreciated.
  4. Managed to get the paint done and polished out - the color is Zero Paints Saburu World Rally Blue basecoat plus clear. Thanks for looking
  5. Thanks Stephen If I recall correctly the Caddy hubcaps were from SJS Details (they've been in my spares box a long time !) Cheers Andy.
  6. This is another one I've been playing around with so while I was shooting the Hornet I thought I'd take a couple of pics. I've robbed the fade away fenders from the 48 Coupe kit but the thing I didn't like about them was how high they joined the rear fender. so I took out a "vee" section to reduce the height in the rear. The drawback is that I've got to re-scribe the door lines - I've made a start on them but it's a job I hate as they're never as good as the original ones. Anyways a picture is worth a thousand words as they say !. Thanks for looking. Andy
  7. As we're blest with sunny weather over here today just a couple of better pictures of the body in primer Thanks for looking Andy
  8. Hi Tom, I did think about getting the Jimmy Flintstone body but his stuff is pretty hard to find in the UK so I decided to get the razor saw out & have a go at the chop myself. Thanks for the comments everybody. Andy
  9. Well after a fairly long break from modelling I've finally picked up a kit & started whacking plastic again with a Kustom Hornet !. Here's where I am currently with the body : Still need some more shaping & sanding on the body mods - I'll try & post progress as I make it. Thanks for looking (sorry for the picture quality) Andy
  10. Well after the coldest winter for 30 years over here, spring has finally sprung so I've make a start on these 3. 32 5 Window Chopped top, Modelhaus resin tyres & Halibrands from the 32 Roadster kit. I'm Tempted to use the Replica & Minatures Eddie Mayer set up in the 36 so it may end up with the Mill City heads & aircleaner from the 40 Ford kit instead. 32 Sedan Chopped top, rims from the California wheels Chevelle kit, smallblock engine with R&M Weber card intake. 36 Coupe Chopped top with Model Car Garage 38 La Salle grille More progress as I make it. Thanks for looking Andy

    2009 Builds

Change of job & a bad case of modellers block meant I only managed 4 models this year Happy holidays & best wishes for 2010 Andy
  12. Shucks Lyle, you beat to it lol ! - looking good. Regards Andy
  13. Thanks Bernard - forgot to put chanelled in the title but yeah the interior did see some razor saw action ! Cheers Andy
  14. Not sure if this one falls neatly into any particular time period hence the newstalgia tag. It's the Revell kit pretty much OOB except for the following : - MCG grille & Edelbrock dress up kit, rims are from the spares box coupled with R&M resin tires & the paint is Vauxhall Arden Blue Pearlescent. Thanks for looking Andy
  15. Thanks for the replies guys Joe - oldscool was spot on - the rims are from the 32 Roadster kit Cheers Andy
  16. Haven't built much recently as had a serious dose of modellers block but have managed to find the enthusiasm to build this one : Thanks for looking Andy
  17. Thanks for the comments guys Cheers Andy

    32 Ford Sedan

Sort of similar in style to the 3 window I did awhile back - chopped top & body chanelled over Z'd frame. The tires, 37 truck grill & Eddie Mayer intake/heads are all from Replicas & Minatures. Thanks for looking Andy
  20. Hi Jody The intake is from thE "Eddie Mayerr" hop-up kit from Norm @ Replicas & Minatures (FH-82) Thanks Andy
  21. Just a quick update on a few "bits & pieces" Front axle : A bit of a mixture of parts - I've used the brake backing plates from the Revell T bucket together with the inner rims (yellow plastic) from the AMT 36 ford. The rims have been sprayed Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red. Rear Axle: Due to the chanelling I've had to extend the width of the axle with plastic sprue (the stock axle pictured for comparison) and again the brake backing plates are from the T bucket kit together with inner rims from the AMT 40 Ford kit (white plastic). Wheels & Grill: Just a pic of the completed grill - the chrome strip is BMF and I've added a thin wash of matt black enamel between the grill bars. The trim rings & hubcaps are from the T bucket kit. Engine: I've added the carbs & aircleaner & used the MCG Stromberg p/e detail kit for the carb & throttle lingages - not entirely happy with the results (my eyesights not what it used to be!) but it saves the carbs from looking too "bare". Thanks for looking Andy
  22. Just a couple of pics of the partially completed flathead : not sure my eyesights up to the p/e for the carbs Thanks for looking Andy
  23. Thanks for the comments guys - haven't made a great deal of progress but here's a couple of shots of the frame on it's own - I'll be able to reduce the height of the rear if necessary by cutting down the air bags on the axle : and just a couple of the "cut down" interior : Cheers Andy
  24. Thanks for the comments guys - I've given it a quick coat of primer and mocked up the engine - it's the kit supplied flathead with the heads, carb intake & air cleaner from the Replicas & Minatures Eddie Mayer hop up kit - the pulleys & generator are also from R&M & the Carbs are from the Model Car Garage. Still lots to do but I'll post more progress as I make it. Andy
  25. After a 6 month layoff I've rediscovered my modelling mojo and made a start on something !. Going to be similar in style to the 32 3 window from last year & as you can see it's just mocked up withtape holding everything together at the moment to get some idea of how it will look -sorry for the poor night time pic. So far I've chopped the top, Z'd the frame front & rear & cut down the interior panels accordingly. The 37 grille, stock firewall & tyres are all from Replicas & Minatures and the steelies are resin ones of unknown origin from the spares box. Haven't made a final choice on colour as yet as still a long way to go but thought about flat black with red steelies & grille insert - I know it's an overused combination but think it would work. Thanks for looking.
