Well, Bernard beat me to it, but yessir Raul, this thing is absolutely gorgeous!! Really like how you built the car up around that Hemi
-
Rod-NEY! stop 'playing' with your gasser and finish it !!! Love them headers! and those 'period' wheels & tires That engine is totally awesome! Get 'er done Zuk! oh yeah, you gonna hafta come up with a name fer it
-
That is some beautiful paint-- love that color! Looks like it's gonna be a real looker with those widey whites
-
Huh, Matt.....I never even thought of runnin' period type wheels & tires on her Might've looked a little more plausible, eh? Oh, and I's findin' out a lot of them 'shes' are kinda mean lookin, and jus' plain mean
-
Figured dat whiles some dem other parts weres settin up I'd see bout getting them headers attached to dat 'Big Ford V8' outa that FF'Stang (dat red plastic is sure horriblse fer taking pics ) Wellsirs, turins out I'm agonna hafta start paintin' coz them there quite cool headers gotsa slide in and aroundy bout the front suspensions and betwixt the frame rails and dat 'big Ford V8'. Actucally lookin' forwards to losin' that red plastick look anyhows Really wasn't ready for to make big painty decides yet so....... As I said befores, feltd like doin' some recycling todays. Way back when I done wacked these here lugs fer attachin' the stock chassis to the body of this here Merk, I saved 'em thinkin' they'd come in handy like, and sure enuffs!- cool collectors fer them headers! I's goin' paintin'....

Got some work done on this here Merky... ... .....been raiding parts outa couple Mustang kits-- these here weewee bars camed outa AMT 66 Resto Rod 'Stang--I done buyed it just for the cool mags inside--don't know where they gonna wind up. I aints goin' crazy details on this here-- I gots to get back to them bigger scales fer dat dere, so's everhow, I was gonna try & cram the roll cage out the FireFighten 'Stang into this here, but felted like doing some recycling todays. Them there kitty cat nail clippers does a good job of cutting sprue, so's I started snippin' and a fittin... ....and it aint lookin' that ugly-- goes purty goodly with the homermade Hurtsy shifter I made out some sprue too. Couldn't resist a queek li'l mockem up of dat interiors wit them wee wee bars hangin' out back & dat big ol' 'wedge' up fronts
-
Man, we gotta quit encouraging you Zuk! Wait! I didn't mean that! This thing keep getting better 'n better every post! Is them the right number of header pipes? 5 for a straight 8? I'da thought 6, or 4, but....... I thinks they look good as is, but with a nice big collector pipe on the end. Might look groovy hanging down outside the frame too, but with them 4 bee-you-teefull stacks , it might just be too much (not that the whole buildem up aint 'too much' already )
-
Well Ed, if'n anybody wants 'down right Dylousional' buildem ups, I's just who they wanna see Just cruisin' along I opened up the hood so's them big ol' 4barrels could breathe...... ...and added some stacks for to see how it look. Hmmm..... I don't know..... Decided to go with a scoopy thing instead. Fabbed one up outa some 'sheet metal'-- mo' pics of that process here: http://public.fotki.com/V866/sparky-awb-merky/page2.html Can't wait to start sloppin' paint. Ol' SPARKY is comin' along

Dad'S 53 Ford Extended Cab Updated 2-3-10 interior and color.
CB replied to Jason Vandergriff's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Very cool project your Dad has goin' there Jason. Reminds me of the 1:1 52 Chebby 4door pu that I saw in a Truck Trader mag years ago. It had duallies under the full size bed, and a big Caddy engine under the hood. It was all in primer and the owner in Florida was selling it for 10 grand because of health reasons. I sooooooo wanted it! I could just see me driving it around town! Might hafta build it in 1/25........someday Lookin' forward to seeing your Dad's in paint. -
Yeah! More pics of dat C cab! That's one cool li'l truck!
-
So cool that we have this here 'On the workbench' so's we can eyeball all the WIP pics That frame is awesome lookin'! Love the body too, as is I do wonder, tho, what it would look like if'n it was sectioned a bit hmm... might hafta try that myself Keep up the good work! Lookin' forward to seein' more of that frame!

Safety Alert About Methylene Chloride Use
CB replied to a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Never thought I'd be saying this here, but God bless you Gramps! Guess you's an ok guy afterall . Seriously Bill, thanks fer sharing this. I put 33 years in a steel mill. Worked as a bearing repairman in the roll shop where we serviced the rolling mills and bearings. Used to use live steam mixed with some nasty acid type degreasers and you could just feel it destroying your lungs & sinuses whenever anybody used 'the steamer' (kinda like a self service car wash). The company finally had to deal with some of them hazardous chemicals they were pumping into us, and along the way we got us some more even nastier ones. I got involved with the safety committee and writing safe job procedures, etc. Big help when we got 'MSDS's--Material Safety Data Sheets-- which listed all the stuff that was in whatever came in the doors. Lists all the hazardous chemicals and what kind of personal protection device you could wear when using it. Kinda natural to think of hazardous stuffs in places like that where we used to work, but I guess we need to be aware of any possible hazards with any of the glues, paints, etc what we use in our hobbies as well. Once again, way to go Gramps! Thanks -
Ya know Chuck, this here buildem up is dang near 'museum quality' IMHO, and how cool would it be to donate it to some museum, and that there '5 years from now' thing would be so cool-- a li'l exhibit pertaining to the great swiney flu epidemic of '09. Mebbe a li'l card with the exhibit could say something about 'they' believe the swine flu thang started from somebody eatin' Scary Jerry's pork what was cooked at 45 mph

Got the parts outa the de-chromiumin' pool and had a purty rough time gluin' the de-chromiumed engine parts .... musta beend the shellac or whatevers. Anyhows, here be the chassis-- shore looks kinda toylikes, but... "You IS gonna be runnin a BIG ol 427 SOHCammer innat rascal, ain'tcha???" Well, George, I aint much fer knowin' engines anymores-- I be usin' the 'Ford V8' out'n the FireFighter 'Stang pro storker kit, what the chassis be out'n too. Finally got dem 'Ford V8' parts to stay togethers and did a li'l mockin' up-- looky like I gonna havta modifry dat hood opening. Tain't sure yet if'n I just gonna put a couple stacks on them toilets or fab up some kinda scoop....hmm... mebbe both? Still lookin' kinda cool likes. They was a ton o' chromiums on dem bumpbumps fer the Merky Plan is to paint the grille aluminumimn and them wheels some kinda steely look, but as with all my builds...we shall see
-
ManoMan Zuk! I wants whatever it is you're on! This thing is just too totally outrageously cool! Looks like it's gonna fall over! Go man, Go!
-
Did some 'sheet metal' work on the interior of this here Mighty Merk... ...using some paper for scrapbookin' (hee hee-- it's a FOMOCO big piles o' scrap, so...) Ya'll can't see it, but put some insulations underneath. Looks like I's gotta put a li'l more in there on the sides, then I'll try and fit the roll cage outa the FireFighter 'Stang in there
-
Finally slopped some paints on this here funky tubby twuck... Figured dat tubby body woulda beend black, so we's gonna start from thereabouts.... ....I be strainin' me brain as to what final colors will be WHOA! I gots to stop doin' dat!
-
"MIGHTY MERK"? Wowser George! I loves dat! SPARKY, the MIGHTY MERK! Got a chance to do a wee bit to it today... robbed the frame and some other parts outa the FireFighter 'Stang-- guess SPARKY gonna be mostly FOMOCOCO Done drilled out them nice chromey headlights off'n the Merky grille/bumpbump unit-- gonna be dechromiuming it. Also, tossed the coat hanger frame rail idea coz I couldn't get any glues to stick to it some weird kinda plastic....anyhow, done did a big buncha cutting up of the interior and 'frame' from the 66 Merky kit-- not much of a back seat left Gonna cover dat up with some sheet 'metal'. Gettin' all excited again-- the typical start of another one
-
well then quit yer yappin' and get to snappin' Bro! Geezoman! We gottsa tell ya everthing? mebbe I'll pm ol' Gramps & sic 'im on yo' arse
-
Ok, George, ya done it again! .......but next time, you wanna post up a differnt picture yep, practise makes perfect, but they's all the same--even tho' they's differnt
-

Strange how we (well, some of us anyhow ) gets inspired I had done me some shoppin' fer Christmas gifts-- got my 4 year old granddaughter a dress (?) (aint sure what it is, but her Mommy sure liked it)... andyhow, I's gettin' there-- it came on a hanger, and as I was gonna toss the hanger I saw frame side rails there-- on the hanger! Cool! So I dropped all that gift wrappin' and started hackin' on that hanger, makin' a pair of frame rails and slidded these here cool rims & skins off'n a diecasted Cobra in then started settin' bodies on. This here 66 Mercky ended up as the winner, specially when I seen it weres gonna be an AWB! I did some 'image adjusting' of this here pic and like the color-- aint sure if'n dat's how it gonna wind up, but........we shall see I been havin' a bit o' troubles postin' pics hereabouts since we gots the new forum, so if'n anybody wanna see more, here be the clinker to me Fotki: http://public.fotki....arky-awb-merky/
