  1. spray it with silver first to seal the red, then shoot your primer and paint.
  2. I don't know what brand or type of paint was used as it was a kit that I bought that was already painted. The ambient temperature was probably around 80°. I plan on getting some purple power and seeing if that will remove the remaining portions of paint.
  3. Well, my conclusion is, this stuff sucks! I was trying to take the paint off of a small pile of parts that had different colors of paint. There was red, light blue, gloss black, and flat black. It had no effect on the light blue whatsoever. On the red it only took the top of the paint off but the part was still stained red. It removed most of the gloss black but did not touch the flat black at all. This was even after scrubbing with a toothbrush! I applied this product as suggested by coating the parts but not soaking them for a long period of time. I poured the ELO over the parts three times before letting them sit overnight. Looks like this was a waste of 15 bucks!
  4. You still need to use the wheel backs from the MPC kit. His wheels nailed the look perfectly! Way better than the kit wheels!
  5. The set of four wheels with tires was 15.00 plus shipping.
  6. Yep, I bought two sets of those Vector wheels and BFG tires from Joseph! Great stuff!
  7. Does anyone here know if the Slixx General Lee decal sheet is the same size, as far as the flag, numbers, and words, as the MPC General Lee decal sheet? I have a General Lee that has the decals applied and they have been cleared over. All of the white areas, on the decals, show the orange bleeding through. I want to take the Slixx decals and overlay the kit decals. Any help would be appreciated!
  8. Well, I just put a bag of painted parts in a metal basket, put the basket in a bowl and poured the whole bottle of ELO over everything letting it wash over all the parts. I then removed the basket and poured the ELO back in the bottle. I noticed it's now marketed by Testors. I hope they didn't weaken the formula.
  9. Thank you for the replies! Coating the tires with dull coat does interest me but isn't the dull coat enamel based? If so, I would think it would react to the vinyl the same way the white enamel does? Is there an acrylic dull coat that would be better to use? as far as the cracking, I intend to assemble the wheels into the tires before painting.
  10. I thought there must be two different decal sheets for the Super Boss! I have noticed them built with a slightly different decals. The one im building now has the countries on the side of the hood.
  11. The thing I'm wondering the most is, will it dry properly?
  12. I have a lot of small parts I need to remove the paint on. I wonder if I can dunk them in the ELO and then pull them out and set them aside while the paint dissolves?
  13. OK that's good to know, thank you!
  14. All of the decals, for all four trucks are available from Modeltruckin.com
  15. I would jump on that! But I think I'm good for now! That is, unless they issue them where there are two kits in one box! I would have to have those for sure!!! :)
  16. I don't think that one was in the fire. I know that it is in mint condition right now in the hands of a collector. The Boss Truck of America was in the fire and is in really bad shape right now! I save every single picture I can get my hands on dealing with Tyrone Malones trucks. http://public.fotki.com/lotso/tyrone-malone-truck-pics/
  17. I'm just wondering if it actually dries? I just bought a couple of the Bic, fine point, liquid paper pens that I was hoping to use, to letter some vinyl tires.
  18. I just bought a can of it, and I'm wondering if it's OK to soak the parts in it? Or will it attack the plastic if it's in there too long?
  19. I bought the 351 Cleveland kit from Scale Models by Chris. http://www.motorcityresincasters.com/motors.htm
  20. Rehashing this post. Has anyone used liquid white out to paint the raised letters on a vinyl tire? I think the white out is acrylic base? I just bought some Bic, fine point, white out pens but I was hoping to hear something from someone that has used white out on vinyl tires before and what the actual result was? Do you have to spray dull coat over the tire after you apply the white out? If you apply the dull coat, do you have to be really careful with the tire so that you don't crack the dull coat?
  21. I wouldn't recommend them if you paid me! Lots of people have had A very hard time getting their parts after they paid for them!
  22. The empty rack that he sells is only three dollars. The rack is 9" x 13" and he charges $25 to plate the entire rack.
  23. If you are thinking about having some parts chrome plated. Contact Charles at Model Car Chrome!
