  1. Here's what I'm thinking on the finned wheels in the A-Team van kit. I'm thinking of stripping the chrome and then shooting the wheels with a bright red enamel. Then, after the enamel cures, I could brush paint some flat black, acrylic paint into the recesses and then, with a damp Q-tip, wipe the top surface of all the spokes clean, exposing the red paint.
  2. I'm actually asking this, not only for the vector wheels, but also for the finned aluminum wheels found in the A-Team van kit. I'm really not wanting to paint the red over black, as it would need to be thick to be bright red.
  3. Very good ideas guys, I'll think about each one. Thanks!
  4. Hey guys, does anyone here have a trick for painting the vector wheels with spray paint? I know they can be painted with brush but I would rather have a smooth even finish that is produced by spray. Just wondering if there is a way to mask them off?
  5. I wonder if anyone is offering resin copies of the Eckler wheels found in those AMT Corvette kits? Even still, I really want to use those Vectors that Joseph sells as they are just cool as they are with the separate Lugnuts at all! Not to mention very accurate!
  6. I just saw today, that archer transfers has a new sheet with all different sizes of confederate flag decals I know this is terrible of my Ben...but do you have a link to acher...love your Idea and it will turn out great.I like most of the rest of us watched the dukes. but I've never really wanted to build the general lee.I didn't like the tires or wheels and the antenna, an push bar.I'm going to build a street version of the general lee...same decals, paint color...but a street version.so I'm interested in the decals and where to get them from?..take care dude....Chris http://www.archertransfers.com/

  8. Already talked to Joseph, his wheels are 1/24th rather than 1/25th scale. They may look to big. Thanks There's a picture of a Revell Charger built as the General Lee, using Joseph's wheels on Google images. They look perfect on it! I'll be using them on mine! The next best Vector wheels I've seen come from the AMT Eckler Corvette kit.
  9. Looks like slixxs is about to release a brand-new set of decals for the General Lee. I'll be using those if they do.
  10. Hey guys, I know, I know, everyone is tired of hearing about the General Lee. I've never really been interested in that car very much, but for some reason, it has currently peaked my interest. I would like to build one but I would like it to be as good as possible. My question is, would the Revell 69 Charger be the best kit to use to build the most accurate version? I plan on using the really nice Vector wheels from Fireball Model Works and some aftermarket decals. With this build an accurate General Lee?
  11. Very nice work! Always loved that car!
  12. Hey John, I'll check into that! Can you post some pictures of your builds I would love to see them!
  13. I'm a stickler about replicating the real thing when possible. I really love the little MPC Zingers kits but don't like how they have the wrong rear wheels. I was wondering if anyone has found a source for a deep Cragar wheel that will fit the Zingers rear tires?
  14. Tires do look a tad bit small but the truck does look good.
  15. Now you just need one of these slide in campers to go with it!
  16. This trailer just keeps getting better and better!!! Outstanding work!
  17. I did get a reply from Heinz and my order is still in place. Thanks for everyone's help!
  18. Those Spin Welder sets were cool! I have the 7up dragster in a bottle kit.
  19. What I don't get is, are the people complaining about recent kits just building them straight from the box? Basically wanting them to fall together? I see kits as "a big help or a starting point" to the model I want to build. If it has inaccuracies, I correct them. That's my job as model builder. It's like being a mechanic. If you can overcome problems and figure things out and then fix them, your a mechanic. If you just open a box and install a part, your just that, a parts installer, not a mechanic. If you consider yourself a "model builder" then consider each obstical as a challenge to your modeling capabilities and overcome them.
  20. Still no reply from Heinz and I can't find the kit anywhere on their website (Modelltruck.at) ?
  21. Cool, I'll check into both! Thanks!
  22. I had sent him several emails over the past few months with no reply. I sent another email today. Hopefully he will reply?
  23. Does anyone offer the F100 dog dish hub caps to use with the Moebius kits?
  24. For those that have this kit, how did you go about getting it? I placed an order for mine over a year ago and have not had any word from Heinz on it?
  25. I placed an order for that Scania 8X4 kit over a year ago and still have not heard back from Heinz???? How are you guys getting this kit??
