All those vehicles are available in 1/25 scale in plastic and in resin.

Try using hair spray instead, mist some hair spray on from a good distance back so you get a rough spray hitting the model. Let it dry, paint the model then rub the surface. Wherever the hair spray landed, the paint will come off.

Wow, so the kits are pretty different from each other than? I just bought the Gapp and Roush kit off Ebay (you don't wanna know what I had to pay to get it!) Now I need to get the Dyno Don kit. I had the chance to get one for 100.00 still sealed but passed on it. Kickin myself now!

Wondering if both of the MPC Pinto Pro Stock kits ( the Dyno Don Pinto and Gapp and Roush Pinto) are the same kit other than the chrome tree, decals and box art? Then, as far as the chrome tree, are the wheels the only difference on the chrome trees?

Fake model kit box arts
Ben replied to 57peppershaker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here's one that I had made by a very talented graphic artist here in the forums. I had wanted this box forever and was so happy to get it done that I overlooked the main truck in the picture had no wipers, mirrors or fifth wheel as it had just come out of the paint booth. I plan to have the box redone as soon as I can contact the owner of the Blue Mule replica and get some good pictures of the completed truck, from him. To make it more realistic, I placed the fake cover over an AMT White Freightliner Dual Drive kit so there would actually be a 1/25 truck kit in the box. -
Yea, I wrote Joseph at Fireball Models to see if he can make me some. That is one talented guy!!

How come nobody is using Future over the decals?? You can still shoot Testors or Tamiya clear over the Future. The Future will protect your decals from the hot clear coats.- 39 replies

AMT Mach Won Mustang funny car chassis question
Ben replied to Ben's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I broke the left rail into five pieces trying to disassemble it. Lots of glue! I was able to glue it all back together though. I just need to soak it in Castrol Super Clean to remove the rest of the paint that the Westly's Bleach White didn't touch. Just scored another one partially built with the box off Ebay. -
Very sad news indeed... All my prayers for him to have a fast recovery...

AMT Mach Won Mustang funny car chassis question
Ben replied to Ben's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi Mark, after looking at the Polar Lights, Gas Rhonda/Tommy Grove Mustang kits, the chassis in those kits looks very similar to the chassis on this Mach Won kit! It just needs to be shortened and the rear body pivots from the Mach Won chassis will need to be added to the Polar Lights chassis. I just ordered three of the Tommy Grove Mustang kits from Tower Hobbies. I broke the windshield in two on the Mach Won body so I'm hoping the Polar Lights glass will work as well. Here's some pics of the Mach Won as I got it off Ebay. It's disassembled and soaking in Westy's Bleach White tire cleaner right now. -

Polished aluminum look

Jim Littiken at Micro Nitro has those wheels in real machined aluminum! -
Does anyone know if the chassis in the AMT Mach Won funny car kit was used in any other kits that have been reissued in the last few years? I just won a built up Mach Won Mustang off Ebay that I plan to restore. I'm just wondering if I happen to have a kit that has that same chassis so I can build that from new parts.

I thought the term "funny car" came straight from the Fact of bodies lifting up??
-
From what I'm seeing the body does not tilt on this "funny car"??

Um......wow!!! I thought that was a real truck for a second!
