Just wondering if any of the guys out there, that own a Sherline lathe know if there are jaws available for the three jaw Chuck that will reach up and over. I want to Chuck up some aluminum wheels that have very fragile lips on each side so I want to reach over the lip and have the jaws touch the center of the wheel. Very similar to the picture I am including but they don't need to protrude so far out. The jaw contact surface, where it will touch the wheel only needs to be 1/8"-3/16" deep.

Who would be the best person to contact to buy their full resin kits? I want to buy a Pinto and a Mustang II pro stock kit. I have sent two emails through the SMBC website but have not heard back from anyone?

Yes, the Frosted Ultra Detail is the most expensive but produces the best finish and detail! I just ordered a set of 1/24 Cat D9T bulldozer tracks a friend drew up for me. They cost 225.00 with shipping but I found a coupon code online for 10% off. Ended up only costing 203.13 including shipping.

Competition Resins makes that body. You can buy them through SLIXX or from Competition Resin's directly. I just ordered three of them.!

The main drawback with having things 3D printed is the surface finish. It's going to have a very slight "wood grain" appearance. I have had quite a few things printed by Shapeways in their FUD (Frosted Ultra Detail) which is their highest level of print and they all have a very slight grainy surface from the machine printing in layers.

Rules for mailing Packages in December.....sorry Gibbs
Ben replied to thatz4u's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Pretty disgusting that you can't send anything any more without some lazy, non caring worker throwing your package, kicking it around! You put "Fragile" on it and they do it just for spite! Insurance is a joke!! It could look like a dozer ran the box over and USPS will still fight you on it! Funny how fuel prices have been dropping for while now but shipping prices keep increasing! Sounds like plain old greed to me! -
Great to have you here Cliff! Thank you for all your service!!!

Hey Dave, do you have a picture of the Orange Palm scene version? I have the HotWheels one but I have never seen a real one like that? -

I didn't like those two front dips in the ramps either so I fixed it! I also made it to where the two loading ramps will slide up under the deck for storage. I still need to build the box to form the loading ramp storage " troft" and then I will be completing the back portion of all the storage boxes. Not sure if I'm going to make the storage doors open yet or not? I also rotated the last two cross members of the chassis to clear the loading ramp troft. Yea, it might not be totally accurate but hey, it works! LOL -
Yep, took them with my Ipad. I can't take them again as I was taking them as I was building and most of the work I had done is covered up now.

I hope this is the right section for this? When I post photos in a thread they are right side up in my folder but when I attach them to a message they end up upside down? Is there a way to correct this?

I wish I knew how to fix my pictures? I have a lot more to add but no sense in doing so if they are going to end up, upside down?? -

Trying to figure out why it's putting my pictures on here upside down? -
One kit that I've always wanted for a long time is the AMT Richard Petty ford race car transporter kit. Being that I already have several versions of this kit I never wanted to pay the high price that they were going for. Now that Round 2 has reissued the transporter and the Dodge dart stock-car I figured I would go ahead and build it as if I had the kit. But as usual I can't leave things alone and made some changes to the transporter bed. I never liked how the ramps had the recesses for the front wheels so I sanded off all the raise detail cut a single piece of diamond plate plastic to fit in between the walls of the bed and glued it in place. I then cut two new vertical walls to place on the sides of the upper portion of the bed. Then I just assembled the bed as per the instructions. Something else I plan to do is, complete The storage boxes under the body. I haven't decided if I'm going to make the doors open or not. But knowing me, I probably will. :-)

I have one of these that I disassembled and stripped all the paint to highlight the detail so it could be cast into resin. I want to cut the cab off to make an RV or a little Ryder box truck! Ya know, it sure is funny that Moebius released a wheel and tire set that has TEN wheels and tires in it and it costs just about the same as what the AMT Gasser wheels parts pack costs! The Moebius Lonestar and Prostar kits run about 65.00 so only 17.00 for the wheels and tires is much more reasonable! If Moebius can do it, why can't AMT?
