KFS NOTEBOOM TRAILER.
Ben replied to Andrew Howard's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yep, just looked, it's another run of the trailer he had a few years ago. I was just talking to a friend about possibly buying his from him. -

Are you referring to the Nooteboom modular low loader trailer Howard has listed in the TQ section right now? -
Rising price of our hobby
Ben replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The deals are out there. You just have to do a lot of comparing. Everyone was going on about how they were getting the just rereleased, AMT Super Boss kit at Hobby Lobby for just under $26.00 using the 40% off coupon. Trouble is, you can only use that coupon on one item. I just bought four of the Super Boss kits from Tower Hobbies for just under $28.00 a kit. Free delivery to my door! No running around town wasting time and gas not even knowing if the store will have that kit! -
Any chance the AMT Mach Won molds are still intact?
Ben replied to Monty's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
One of my favorite kits! I have two but they're rebuilders. They were built nice enough that restoring will be easy but it would be great to have a whole new kit!!!!! -
Yeah, I was speaking with Jim all thru the transistion to the new ownership. The last thing I saw, from the new owner was that he was going to work on slot car wheels first and then go back to model car wheels but I haven't heard anything since? It's been a good while. There's not even any posts on their Facebook page?

Has anyone heard anything about Micro Nito's current status? I haven't heard anything from them in a while and there's nothing on their Facebook page? I don't even see the website online anymore?
-
For some reason, during that era of kits, Revell used a plastic that became very brittle over the years! I have quite a few van and pickup kits of that era with lots of broken parts! One of my Sneaky Pete cans broke into about ten pieces!

I think Micro Nitro is your best bet for real aluminum wheels now!

Yeah, it's a really informative DVD! It tells how to use brass bushings in certain areas of the engine kits, proper lubricants that won't attack the plastic over time, etc. -
Beautiful build!!! I would display it with his hat sitting on top of the CB antenna like he had it in the movie when him and Frog were doin who knows what! LOL

i feel the exact same way Bill! On my chassis kit, I painstakingly inventoried each and every piece and any piece that was missing or the slightest bit damaged, I replaced with a new piece from a seller on Ebay that had parts kits for sale. I also bought his DVD that has hundreds of tips on building the Visible kits! -

It would be very hard to crack open one of my mint, factory sealed, AMT Kenworth/Challenge mixer kits as well. Too rare and can't be reissued due to tooling modifications. -

LOL, "a kit"????? How about hundreds! I won't live long enough! Probably the main one would be my big Renwal Visible Chassis kit though. Way too big! Nowhere to put it if I did build it but hey, I have that sucker though! i also bought the big Testors Visible Hemi to go with it just for fun. -

Why are 1/43 Scale Models so Pricey
Ben replied to Skip's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Because in the beginning, when they first came out, someone went ahead and paid way more than they should have! -
Any decals for the Monogram F-150 Stepside?
Ben replied to oldcarfan's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Contact Jerry Reeter at Modeltruckin.com he can copy the decal sheet into different colors. -
nope, they won't have a spot for them till they get them in. I spoke to two different stores here today and that's what the girls that work in the kits section told me. She knew exactly what I was talking about when I described the kit.

Those are just pics I found on Google.

I'll be buying four kits minimum and i've been doing the math between driving all over town to different Hobby Lobby's to use the 40% off coupon for one kit or just order from Tower Hobbies and have them delivered to my door. Super Boss prices Hobby Lobby 4 kits (using coupon 4 times) 95.96Hobby Lobby 2 kits (using coupon for one) 57.98 x2 115.96Hobby Lobby 4 kits (at once with one coupon) 125.96Tower Hobbies 2 kits (15.00 off and no shp) 58.98 x2 117.96Tower Hobbies 2 kits (15.00 off with 9.99 shp) 68.97Tower hobbies 4 kits (15.00 off super saver) 132.96Tower Hobbies 3 kits (15.00 off super saver) 95.97
