  1. This is pretty much box stock with the exception of turning it into a convertible. The only mod I did was to the rear door panels to reflect the fact that it's a convertible. The boot was out of my scrap box, lengthen and widen to fit the GTX body. Don't remember what it came off originally. Its painted Dupli-Color Chrysler Metallic Burgandy. The interior is Camel. The only thing I added was the fender turn signals, and antenna. Thanks.
  2. It looks like a good match to me. Its the closest match I've seen yet out of a bottle. It's a hard color to come up with. It took me forever mixing paint till I finally got it close. I couldn't do it again as I lost track of parts I put in. But I'll keep that Pacific Blue in mind when it comes time for another 383 build. Next time I'm over in Medina at Hobby Lobby I'll grab a bottle. Thanks for the info.
  3. Thanks for the comments and welcome. When my brother saw the model he couldn't get over it. He knew I was making it like his, but didn't think that much like his. His Bee was one of those rides that he is still kicking himself for getting rid of. He thought it was pretty cool that I had it down to the license plates. So I ended up buying a nice display case for it and giving it to him as a gift. He currently has a 64 300K with cross rams. One day I'll get lucky and grab a kit off Ebay and make another one of his rides. Until then, I got the new 68 Charger kit coming that I plan on building like what I had many years ago.
  4. Thanks, its the Mopar turquoise used in the 60's. I mixed it myself, shade is based on memory of the 383 in my 68 Charger. I used a combo of white, blue and aqua acrylic by Apple Barrel. Kept mixing it until I finally got what I thought anyways, the correct, or close to, color. The Hi-Po orange wasn't used till 69 on the 383.
  5. Thanks. The 68-69 B bodies, in my opinion, was some of the best looking Mopars produced in the late 60's era. Now 50's, for me would be the 57 300, 57 Desoto, and the 58 Fury. Those were works of art.
  6. Thanks for the comments, I'm kinda partial to the 383's. It's what I grew up with. My dad loved the 383, and when done right it was a pretty potent package. Almost every car my dad owned was a 383, except for his Windsor which was a 354, and his Dart wagon with the 225 slant six...that wouldn't die. I'll post a pic of the GTX convertible later. I don't want to hog up the board being new and all.
  7. This one is AMT's 68 Road Runner, you know, the kit where they gave you a 69 GTX body. So I set about making it a 68 383 Road Runner by removing all the GTX emblems and trim. I reshaped the rear wheel openings and filled in the tail lights and deck lid to that of a 68 Road Runner. I bought a set of Keith Mark decals to finish off the kit. I kept it as plain as possible, keeping true to the Road Runner nameplate. Did some under the hood detailing like adding the 68 Clean Air package. That's about it.
  8. Here's mine an 06, it doesn't see winter, I have a 93 Daytona for winter. It's a work in progress. I just got a set of 4:10 gears for it. I have a S&B intake, GT Muffler, run Diablosports 91 octane tune. I added Silverhorse Racing sequential taillights. Next year I'll probably add Silverhorses quarter louvers and would love to get the teardrop side mirrors so I can lose the truck mirrors. I don't know, with the economy the way it is, it might be a looong work in progress.
  9. New guy here. I came over from the dark side, aka the other board. I thought I would post a couple of my builds. I haven't been happy with the dark side, less with the new changes. So I hope that this will be a place I can hang my hat, and make some new friends. So here I go. This is the Revell kit, modeled after the 383 Bee my brother had. He found a couple of pics of his Bee, taken about a month after he got her. So its pretty accurate down to the wheels. He took it to the strip every weekend and bracket raced it. His Bee became pretty well known around town. There weren't many white with a red stripe like his. The side scoops are resin. The red bee stripe I made by scanning the kits black stripe, putting it in Paintshop Pro and changing it to red. Then printing it on Testors decal paper. The hood I made by combining the kits six-pack hood and a resin power buldge. The fender turn signals are scrap chrome sprue, shaped. Well thanks for looking.
