  1. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up of the floor!
  2. @butter @Deuces ll @Dave72 @Tortuga Kustomz Thanks for the good words, guys. If you haven't seen it the following link is for the finished pictures and description...
  3. It's interesting how no one ever used this Tamiya "Light Red" then all of the sudden in the last few months 4 or 5 of us all decided to! LOL The color really works well with the lines of the '49 Ford and the gray and white interior compliments it quite nice. I like it!
  4. Any finished model is worth posting here. I dig the Willys. I also dig the '02 Trans Am. GM with the help of SLP really nailed the look of those cars. Way better looking than the sister Camaro. Years ago a friend had a silver '00 WS6 modified with headers, full exhaust, pulleys, Jet chip, 4.10 axle gears and Eibach springs. Sounded good. Ran good. Looked good.
  5. I've already commented on TRaK but another pat on the back here couldn't hurt. Nice group of models, B!
  6. Thanks, Tim! It truly means a lot to me that you think enough of my models that you'd feature any of them in your old column if you could.
  7. Thanks a bunch, buddy! I do have a few project plans for the new year which include completing a couple of projects that landed on the back-burner. But, first priority will be the Tim Boy tribute '29 Pickup(s).
  8. Thanks so much! And thanks for following along!!
  9. Thanks, Alan! It seems like "traditional" is a pretty loosely applied label these days as it means something different from one person to the next. I was going for a "Rodders Journal Traditional" with this one. Like something you'd see come out of Brizio's shop. I also didn't want a predictable paint scheme so I took a chance with the yellow and black. Honestly, I wasn't sure I liked it even as final assembly was coming to completion but once it was done and I leaned back and saw it with all the trim (the grill, lights, handles, wipers, etc.) I feel like it came together and I'm happy with my color choice.
  10. Wow, you had a productive year! Lots to like here but I especially like the '30 Coupe and '34 Pickup!
  11. Great project! Love the color! Before Revell issued their ‘32 Roadster HiBoy kit in 1998, cutting the fenders away from the old Monogram kit was the best way available to build a decent looking fenderless ‘32 Roadster. I did two that way as a young teen. As for the plug wire color, I’d personally go with gray.
  12. Very cool! The stance is right-on as is the fit of the slicks to the radius'd quarters.
  13. I just love the custom ‘34 Pickup. So we’ll done!
  14. Excellent line up for the year! Your Satan Vicky is one of the best uses of that old AMT I’ve ever seen. You nailed that one big time! I also really like the ‘29 Roadster. Perfect stance and proportions not to mention totally period correct.
  15. I dig it, Alan. The Offy engine looks right at home in there being in good proportion to the T. This looks like something that would have been cooked up in mid-late 1970’s and to that end I think the wire wheels suit it best.
  16. In the 5-Window? It’s the complete Y-Block from Revell’s ‘57 Ford Wagon Gasser kit. Comes with dual Holley carbs and beautiful Edelbrock script valve covers. Was a tight fit! The shape of the exhaust manifolds causes clearance issues at the firewall that were tricky to overcome.
  17. Thanks for the nice words, Steve! The wheels were finished with Duplicolor dark gray sandable primer, followed with Tamiya TS30 Silver Leaf topped with Tamiya TS80 Flat Clear. That process has become my go-to for an as-cast finish.

    My 2020

Wow, you had one hell of a good year, Roger! Half of these i hadn't seen before but they all have a finished style that is unmistakably You! I just love the '48 and '60 Pickups and I'm really digging that little Falcon!! But I also find myself really enjoying that Beretta with BIG rally wheels and cowl hood. Great imagination there!
  19. A great way to end the year is to finish one more model project. Today I did just that with this first issue Monogram 1937 Ford Sedan. Originally released in the late 80's this model represented a (for the time) very contemporary street rod with Boyds wheels and other simulated "billet" parts on its Chevy small block engine. The only thing that was out of place was the old style dropped axle/wishbone front suspension which Monogram/Revell remedied in their Convertible With Trailer follow up kit with a full aftermarket-style independent front suspension which I went ahead and used for a more consistently styled chassis. I decided to do a "retro" build of the kit by leaving the modernized chassis and small block/auto trans and backdating the details for a surface-level traditional-looking car. To accomplish that I changed the following: Halibrand resin wheels from Drag City Casting Vintage resin hot rod tires from The Modelhaus Corvette valve covers Weiand Drag Star intake with 6 Stromberg carbs and chrome helmet air filters Rams horn exhaust manifolds mated to kit exhaust with tails shortened to tuck the tips under the body tail pan Spaulding dual coil distributor with scratch built coils, wired Brake booster and master cylinder moved from firewall down to chassis Large, clunky headrests removed from front seats Standard tube column and banjo wheel replacing kits tilt column and Grant wheel Hot water heater unit mounted to firewall Kits optional louvered hood Deleted bumpers Filled simulated fuel filler door on left rear fender and installed stock style external chrome cap. Tamiya TS34 "Camel Yellow" and TS40 "Black" with their clear, polished and waxed
  20. Very cool. I like the weathering and the facto that it's not black like every other stock Model T.
  21. Thanks, Tim. I’ve been wanting so bad to have bench time. Should be back to my regular Sunday afternoons now. I can’t take credit for the ‘26 door panels, just copying what you did! ?
  22. UPDATE! Time at my workbench has been basically non-existent for the last month and a half but today I finally had some free time so I put in some more work on the closed-cab. I shaved the FORD oval emblem off of the grill and filled the notch at the top for the radiator cap. I filled the hinge notches in the bottom of the tailgate and removed the hinge halves from the bed. I then added 4 tabs inside the bed to support the hard cover made from .040" Evergreen sheet. With the smoothed grill and bed... I smoothed out the insides of the doors (people familiar with this kit know all about the 4 giant ejector pin marks on each door!) and then cut down the Revell '26 T Sedan door panels to fit. I also repurposed (from an abandoned project) a Revell '37 Ford Convertible dashboard that I had added material to and then shaped to fit an earlier cowl. I also selected the Lecarra style steering wheel from Revell's '40 Convertible and tilt style column from Mongram's ZZ Top '33 3-Window.
  23. This is rad! Always enjoy your creativity. To look at a Subaru and envision something like this takes a special eye.
  24. That’s bad ass! Excellent work.
