  1. An thank goodness dey did ! ya ever tried to keep a Ford Flat head runnin in 120 degree heat , or in traffic ? Ed Shaver
  2. That's good to know Darrin. With Revell's short wheel base and the more common Long wheel base from A M T , we'll have all the Chevrolet vans from 1974-77 covered . Granted , the Revell van will take a few modifications to make it back to a stocker , the wheel houses can be made to look factory again . Ed Shaver
  3. I wonder how long it will be for an enterprising resin caster to finially produce a wagon ? Thats one I certainly would buy. Meanwhile , I'll be waiting for a hard top . The car has all kinds of possibilities for a diorama subject ........ Ed Shaver
  4. Most interesting ........................... Ed Shaver
  5. That front end is a killa !!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  6. Dave , all I have heard about this kit is just the usual whinnin an negativity bout this an that. Heck , You overcame all that an then some ! I'm really impressed by all the tiny details you involved in doing the job . Ed Shaver
  7. Iv'e always been curious as to the look of this body, now I know . I see that it would require a sizeable amount of work in order to do an old Ford Flathead powered machine . Meebie I need to convert an old Revell kit to what I want to do eventually ........ Ed Shaver
  8. Hey Cranky, yer in Florida , wheres the next Van happnin , or er ole Polock Joe , pinstriper ? I bet he'd know ................ Ed Shaver
  9. Indian motorcycles to me are the sexiest bike out there . Ain't nuthin like an old Indian Twin revin up .............. Ed Shaver
  10. I'll put a word in for ya Mr. Bastedo. I volunteer in a Nursing home and yes, I'm all too familliar with terminal illnesses . Ed Shaver
  11. The A M T Mustang is kind of a "Modified " re- hash of an old Promo/annual kit where detail was minimal within the engine bay . I suggest you start learning how to scratch build non existant pieces as this kit offers several opportunities in which to experiment . Ed Shaver
  12. Nice idea, however , I bet the accounting department is watching how many sell off this run .................. Ed Shaver
  13. Now there is one truck you never see. Dodges built during that era had a problem with the front ends being too light . I remember having to install a extra heavy push bumper to counteract the weight differential when I was sub contracting Holmes wrecker bodies . Meanwhile ,nice work on the wrecker . Ed Shaver
  14. Funny David . Ed Shaver
  15. Ain't nuthin wrong with the wheels in the kit . See how muddy ya can make them ? Ed Shaver
  16. Da Joker is no fool , he never says nice things unless it's tight work , I sez it's tight too! Ed Shaver
  17. I had one as a Cab driver . I wasn't too impressed by the lack of a real trunk in the thing . As Danno said , they rode nice , especially considering the streets of Houston . Ed Shaver
  18. Most interesting subject and nice out come too. I used to have one as I bought it new and leased it out to a couple of Cab drivers in 1886 . Ed Shaver
  19. Gee, lemmie dig out an old Revell Gowland and Gowland kit I got someplace ...................... Ed Shaver
  20. I won't miss this previous year . Spent most of it in either a hospital or a Nursing home . The economy sucked , the politics sucked bigger , Heck, there was seldom anything decent on T V . Yes , there was the usual silliness on this forum as to whom whose ego was bigger , The usual trouble makers , minus a couple finially quit posting , one came back though . There were on occasion a few great posts and some fine looking models though . You know who you are as I took the time to tell you about why I did like them . O K , time for pizza ..................... Ed Shaver
  21. Keep the wheels .............. rest of the car looks fine . Ed Shaver
  22. Then you just applied the foam onto the Particle Board ehh............ O K, that could work . I wouldn't recomend particle board as it's already too heavy and dimensionally somwhat unstable . I would sooner recomend veeneer plywood . Ed Shaver
  23. Wayne , quick question , I'm curious as to what kind of a release agent one may need in order to spray the foam such as you did and be able to place it on a board like you did ............ Im wanting to do a slope like down to a lake from a road . Ed Shaver
  24. To try and answer all yer questions , uh yes Impallas could have had a 230 six with a manual , 235 with an automatic . The closest Block you're going to fin is probably an A M T 1960 Chevrolet truck as the 51 Chevrolets had a DIFFERENT valve cover . All Chevrolets used a DRIVER'S side exaust and intake . ALL Used the same power steering unit mounted low at the steering box from 1959 on . The color was a Slate Blue as in Testors Blue Angel Blue from 1958 to 64. The air Cleaner HAS to be either scratch built or purchaced from Ken Kitchen resins . They were painted a semi Gloss Black . The OPTIONAL oil filter was also painted in Gloss Black . You can also make a small Gold slash on the top to designate the A/C decal often seen on them . Also, Fram oil Filters could have been purchaced as an "Aftermarket " accessory. They were a medium Blue with a bright orange top. they mounted OFF the intake manifold using two 2 /1/2 "U " bolts . Two transmissions were avalible , well, actually three. You could have had a Cast iron Power Glide , later Aluminum , or a manual three speed syncronized 2nd and third gear . Generally , these were commonly painted in semi gloss Black . For exterior colors , I suggest you go to Auto Color Library.com Oh I owned a couple of these cars , worked on several more .................. Ed Shaver
  25. PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE- PLEASE , what ever ya do , PLEASE don't use those wheels............... AKKKKKKKKKKK.......... Ed Shaver
