  5. Now wait a minute , Model Round Up sent out e-mails telling us we had to get the "Colored " kits from them . Since i don't nessesarily buy from Model Round Up, what DO I get anyway ? Not that it really matters Greg , I painted the one I bought back in 1967 anyway and I'll probably wind up painting this one too. Ed Shaver

  11. I built the coupe back in 1966 when this kit was an I M C kit . The objections I had with the kit were a smallish V-8 engine and some of the fiddly parts that had some objectionable gaps in them . It looked so so when I completed it and comparing this to one of I M C's GT-Ford kits , hey you could put this one together ! Testors when they aquired the I M C tools never to my knowlege did the J- Car or the origional G T Ford . I think they did the later GT-40 Ford . The 46-48 Ford kits went on to be come part of the Linburg tool collection . Hey, build it for Nostalga sake ! Ed Shaver
  12. I have to go along with the NO STOCK TIRE , NO SALE comment . Not al builders want to do Getto-mobiles .............. Ed Shaver
  13. For what it's worth, someone here about three years ago had one of the ORIGIONAL kits . He took the molded engine and cut it out . It was replaced by a Big Block 454. He too made a decent wrecker out of what he had . Meanwhile . I had a 77 Model G MC , myself with a home made bed and an electric winch on it . It was small block powered as were most wreckers in that era . So , Christian , uh not every wrecker had large block gas engines in them . I was building some wreckers for both Holmes and Centry . Most , if not all were inded small block powered . This much I can tell some of ya to reinforce my story, a Big Block gas job dosen't always equate to a great wrecker . I owned a 89 Ford with a 460 in it . It passed everything cept a gasoline station ! In fact , the conventional wrecker I had , a 1979 had a 351 in it . it did everything the 460 did and then some , so displacement aint everything in the towing business ! Ed Shaver
  14. I second all of Skip Jordans suggestions on re tools of former Revell 1-32 and Pyro kits , ie , 48 Lincon , 33 Auburn , 32 Cord and Revell's 56 MK-2 Lincon . With what I see in the Hudon, I was thrilled to say the least ! The Chrysler looks to be just as stunning too. Oh , I too would like a Tucker too............. Ed Shaver
  15. Happy Birthday to a REAL Gentleman !!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  16. Somehow , this subject reminds me of the time Mr. Obsessive and I were mailing one another on the old I M C Cougar II. Yes, it's currently a Linburg kit . Still, the lack of engineering that went into that kit is it's biggest flaw . Bill did one hulluva job correcting and re- engineering to make a shining example of that car. .......... Ed Shaver
  17. Too bad they don't seem to do the renowned P- 1800 sportwagon ............. Ed Shaver
  18. Classic Trucks Rod and Custom - on occcasion Street Rodder- on occasion Collectable Automobile M C M when Chuck Most does a story Ed Shaver
  19. That said , the "Chevron" manufactured bed was actually made AFTER holmes discontinued the winch they have in the kit . That wincg was Holmes's entry into hyrdalulics back in 1975. A very curious mix of parts indeed .............. Ed Shaver
