  1. Picked up one the hitches. Nice casting, a little warped but nothing some warm water and a clamp won't fix.
  2. scaledreams.com I know there's others but I can't think of tem right now.
  3. Actually it's a Mountaneer, but I think he's talking about the turn signal on the rear of the front fender.
  4. Great ideas. Now that I have a "shop" big enough to accomodate a booth I think I'm gonna try making one.
  5. Didn't get a pic cuz I was working, but I seen a 94? Ford Escort with a Chrysler 300C grille and UGLY flame paint job. Crack not only kills brain cells, it kills cars as well.
  6. I have the SAME project going, but I'm using the AMT Snapfast Chevy Dooley. The only crew cab or 99+ Ford Super Duty will be diecast.
  7. If they were kits of any significant value then it sounds like they knew what they were doing. Or like Carl said, it was a kid that had been in your house before.
  8. It's like looking in the mirror. LOL
  9. I was sitting in the corner rocking back and forth going through withdrawls.
  10. Take a look through here for lighting ideas. http://www.layitlow.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=485852&st=40
  11. No problem, that's what the hobby is all about, helping each other out.
  12. Double sided tape for the siding, from there I can use CA glue or the trim.
  13. I plan to use foam core for the garage itself, but I will be using plastruct for the trim and siding. I'm going for a modern look with "vinyl" siding. If I used ALL plastic I'd go bankrupt. Oh, and I think I have figured out a way to do roll up doors. Once I get sarted on it, if it works the way I see it in my head, I'll post a how-to.
  14. I've been watching this in silence absorbing all the great ideas. I've been planning a dio for a while now. Pretty much the same kind as this one. However mine was going to be a FULL 2 story with an office/apartment on the second floor. I've had the plans drawn out for a good year, just waiting for funds for all the plastic it's going to need. This one looks awesome and I enjoy looking at all the new updates.
  15. I went through and deleted a lot of my old wanted posts and stuff a few months ago. Can't seem to find the option to do that now.
  16. The only plastic I got, besides what I bought for myself, was the Monogram Ford F-250 from the LIL Christmas exchange. I did however get a Ryobi 4 in 1 Cordless tool set (drill, saw, vac and light), some clothes and Smirnoff. Although, like was said before, the best part was watching my daughter open her gifts.
  17. When it comes to resin, it's usually something that isn't available in plastic form. I would strongly suggest getting some plastic under your belt before attempting any resin. Resin kits can be very expensive.
  18. Got these in the mail today. The 57 is gonna be my junker/barn find.
  19. It's not what I collect, but my models collect dust.
  20. Gotta say real, the tires give it away the easiest.
  21. 1/24-1/25 kits are the typical scales. Anything smaller than that will be harder to work with for a beginner. There is no wrong place to start and practice makes perfect. I do not recommend Testors cement, but since you are a beginner that may be the glue to start with since it dries slow and will give you time to position the part where it needs to be. All paint is different, and over time you will find the kind that is right for you, just remember to prime the part before paint. Always test fit the parts before and after paint to insure the fitment is correct. There are a LOT of very talented builders here and they (we) are always willing to help out in any way.
  22. How about we make this the official Christmas music/show thread. What's Christmas without a little TSO?
  23. Looks good, should put a plow on it too.
  24. WOW, I think I need to go to Dollar Tree now.
