  1. I like the site itself but it's just dead quiet on there. And the other red site is like Juvenile Hall....... this one here is JUST RIGHT!
  2. So how is the quality, where does it fall between say R and R and Modelhaus? It's desirable subject matter, I would build it if I knew it was at least R and R quality, and since it sounds like it's NOT a copy of a copy of a copy, it may be good news then.
  3. Is AAM up and running again? These look like the ones he was selling yrs ago AAM Resin Kits on Fee Bay
  4. You take a kit from Jeff, have Bob do the chrome..... it's going to turn out much better than any styrene kit out there. And thanks for the nice words. The wagon is stunning, absolutely a birdie as far as us mainstreamers are concerned. Or...... a Q-code 4 speed wagon! Juha Airo did at least two of those Rancheros, one was red and I forget the other.....maybe yellow. Jeff, was it you that just released a Hornet S/C 360? Or mastered it, don't remember which.... It looks very very good for our hobby, never been better! Thanks again to all of our heroes, Jeff B, Model King Dave, Steve Kohler, Jack at Roundup, Parsons, about 70+ resin casters and photoetch czars.....You guys and gals (supportive spouses included) have brought us a much stronger and brighter hobby!
  5. OK I'm only mildly retarded. I haven't started mine yet, unless someone tells you specifically, and it looks like it's going together as intended.... leave it and see that it looks like it should. You are right about the instructions, I think the Florida statutes regarding prison assaults makes more sense than those do. Mine look like they have extra springs. They could be for the milk trailer (not included).
  6. What kit is it you refer to?
  7. GMC had their trucks out for the public to see and buy. You'd see them at big dealerships that had other lines like White, Volvo etc. Going up and down the interstae meant you would see the heavy GMC's sitting at the truck stealerships. Not so with chebby. They acted, and still do, like they don't care if they sell or not. They have their mediums at the chevy dealerships like kodiaks and snowbird hotshots and whatnot but you still don't see those big Chevies parked under your nose ready to sell. They have the pickups, work vans and Korean cars. They always had profitable car lines, I don't think they ever put that much effort into it.
  8. I have been hearing this more about him lately. My last order was 2 yrs ago..... they used to take about 10 weeks to fill an order and sent out a great casting. I was very happy with him but haven't ordered for about 2 yrs. I won't order anyting else until this clears up.
  9. Thanks for the reply. If mine turns out decent, maybe I'll make molds. I love the Pete with tanker. I like old school Petes with the big old adjustable lights.
  10. Where are you getting a 12V Screamer from? I'm about to scratch one, but if a decent version is for sale somewhere I would prefer to swipe my card.
  11. The "Buzzin' Dozen" no less! I'll bet that sounds good with the jakes to the wall.
  12. The 1st Stage for GM's white Diamond is GM Code 40 white. You should most definitely be able to get that in Duplicolor or something like that.
  13. If it went on wet, it's etched and you need a new one. If it's not etched you would probably be able to carefully rub it off with compounds. The question... is it etched?
  14. Ford had Sterling for a while, now they are owned by diamler, along with detroit, freightshaker, fuso etc
  15. Been asked about this a few dozen times.....the Revell wheels from the 70 runner are a step in the right direction, but have no shape or detail. Part of this is beause of the flat shallow hubcaps they made to be used with them. I gave it a shot, using a more tapered center spyder, correct shaped slots, center mound with better lugs and hubcap ears. Maybe someday I'll have time to do the little hubcaps with the tiny holes. ........ and maybe not.
  16. There was just a Mercury C Cab n FEE Bay, it either just ended or is still there. I was browsing the other night in my Motel room, can't sleep when I'm not home. I was surprised to actually see one of those. I believe I was looking under old wreckers. Those Merc pics would be right up your alley.
  17. Mack also used the same cab as the old Ford C for some years as both Mack and Ford bought the cab from an outside company, forgot whom though. There's a firetruck here in the keys that is a Mack but people think it's ford with mack nameplates
  18. Don't feel bad, you really can't usually tell just by looking. You can spot stuff that gets you within range but they changed stuff on class 8's in mid year, or emission stuff changes from year to year. I have an 08 Freightliner I got Nov of last year, and in that same order I got one that was an '07. I've seen weirder stuff than that, but many aren't changed year to year, or they get glider kits, front end stuff, wreck repair etc. Those are a conglomeration of parts more than a car would be. You have about 60 different companies working to put a truck together. I agree with your point, the model kits are who-knows-what. It's even worse when you factor in the incorrect parts, slight changes between re-releases etc.
  19. UPS and Kroger come to mind. That was quite a while ago.
  20. Unacceptable. Period. When you're two years behind in filling orders, an honorable man would fill them all before making further sales, and cashing more checks. Long before two years. Two months is common, borderline but common. Two years is just plain theft.
  21. I think that had the "X" frame with the driveshaft passing through it.
  22. FYI: Modelhaus has the big flat cakepan center caps like so many of those mainstreamers had and they would look so good on that, especially in Brown metallic.
  23. I remember a H/T promo, but it has been years since I've seen one.
  24. Jeff's 72 Wagon is one of the best things to happen to this hobby anytime recently. When are these available? A word to those who have never bought from Motor City before, the bumpers are so clean they barely need any prep for chrome. The last two I got I just wet sanded with 1500 grit and westleys and shipped them to Bob. They came back looking better than most kit chrome. Also, looking at your photo you have a very accurate body on that. I can't wait to get my hands on a couple of those wagons!
  25. I have built 3 of Jeff's creations, and they are awesome quality! I loved the Ranchero That wagon is a must have! You're a GOD, Jeff! Thanks for the great work!
