hey guys i am working on my christmass list and i have my 12 year old nephew on there he is just starting to get excited about sports and i'd love to get him a NFL jersey my heart belongs to the lions but i want to instill more then the just the love for a team, the spirit of the game so i cant very well give him a Suh jersey because i dont want him to think it is cool to be the most fined player in the game this brings me to a man whom i greatly respect and who's skills have been heavily critised under all the scrutiny he has displayed to correct attitude and on top of that he's a Christian who doesnt hide his faith so this is the man who's jersey i'd like him to have (and being 5-1 as a starter doesnt hurt either) well, to the point, i want to get him a Tebow broncos jersey but i cant find any online that are affordalbe i have about 20 but 30 tops to spend on a jersey. would anyone in the colorado area be able to get one locally and ship it my way? (id pay for the shipping off course) thanks guys

What is this?
diymirage replied to MikeMc's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
i just never heard anyone coll it a hemi before...i mean, ford had the "semi hemi" but i always figured it was a poor marketing plot trying to get a piece of the mopar action -
if you had posted it at any other time it would most likely hasve run its course, but like i mentioned in the origenal post, we had just (within 24 hours of your post) closed a 4 page post that started out on the same subject and escaleded into all sorts of stuff regarding big box stores, goverment consiracies and just plain old sillyness so the moderates probably thought everything that needed to be said had allready been said don't take it personal, it was just a mather of bad timing

educate me here, are these hemis like the mopar 426 hemis? somehow based off the 2 prototype DOHCs mopar cooked up in the late 60s eatly 70s to compete with te ford 427 cammer? i thought there were only 2 of those ever build? -

well guys here are some pics (dont get too excited, really nothing to see but still) as you can tell Alan's rims are coming in nicely i sprayed a TON of allclad today...pretty much the entire interior tub looks like it is bare steel (its a tubbed rear end and the rear seat has been tore out), the rims and the injection system i also did some small assembly to the engine and the chassis oh, and some mudding to the front and rear panels to get rid of those terribles ALL cuda models seem to have on a side note, dont you love those round taillights? we dont see enough of them so, what would i be looking at for interior colours on a moulin rouge cuda ?

Can I see some crazy Drivetrain swaps?!
diymirage replied to Jesse D's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
it started life as a (i think) maisto remote control 2010 challenger i had gotten a superbee in on trade that was allready missing the drivetrain so it was a perfect candidate after i removed the chally body and made some blocks for the 'bee to sit on which (after radiussing out half the rear quarters) dropped right on -
i clean my airbrush on the same schedule as we do maintenance on the presses at my job...when it breaks down seriously though, i run a cup of laquer thinner through it when i first fire it up, when i change colours and when im done that is about the extend of my cleaning i have a paasche H series and it takes the abuse. i used to have a badger 150 and it would not put up with that type of treatment AT ALL

i got a handfull. here is a mid 50s or so VW bug, converted to a front engine rear wheel drive custom turbo the engine is from a type 2 gold and the rear axle from a toyota supra this is an acura type S 8 cylinder im working on (almost done too) it runs the stock engine in the front and a civic engine in the rear which makes it AWD (even with two engines it still can't keep up with a blown mopar) heres a ford focus with a blown 572 big block from a bigfoot monster truck in it (first swap i ever did) and finally the all electric dodge superbee MPC body on a RC frame. i build this for my son, lasted about a week -
its pretty simple Doc. first i scanned the origenal decal and opened it in photohop then i started browsing the internet looking for a picture of a nice marble print i wanted to insert (i think i found this on a flooring website) back to the photoshop i highlighted the jellow and cut that so i just had the red outline left then i stretched the marble picture so it would fit within the red outline and dropped it in the outline thats about all there was too it, then it was just a mather of printing a few quick test prints on regular paper to ensure the size was perfect before i printed it on white decal paper and dropped a few coats of clear over it from there on it was a mather of cutting the decal out nicely (so i didnt get a halo effect) and aply like and other decal

i used to have a dual action badger 150 and i was a great airbrush...but the clean up was very important, not something you could slack on now i have a paasche singe action (siphon feed) and i love it it is just engineered with clean up in mind, it is still an internal mix airbrush but the needle is way different from that in the badger (im sure with it being a single action that helps) i would definalty recommend my paasche H

find a fellow member on here with a stalled project of his own and exchange projects you finish his and he finishes this...that might be cool ?

thanks alot guys i am quite pleased with the way it came out the marble grapix was really not in my origenal plan, the hotwheels only had a red panel line, nothing else so thats what i tried at first i painted and stripped the body twice because i had bleadthrough in my 3 tone paintscheme and then decided to use the decals from the kit these decals were yellow panels with a red line so i used a Xacto knife ti cut the yellow out and then tried allying just the red border but as soon as the decal hit the water it fell apart then i decided to print my own decal (using a scan of the origenal) but becuase the car was black i needed to use white decal paper instead of trying to cut just the border out and have a repeat of the first try decalling i decided to try and find something to fill in the panel and thats when the marble came in but like i said, i like the way it looks, almost seems better this way

hey guys, a while ago i started a CBP in which we took a 1/25 model kit to replicate a hotwheels car the only person to enter and finish (or even make decent progress was our very own Jairus Watson i finally got some time to build and i made sure i finished my entry the kit i used was revell's 2n1 67 GTX the engine is the kit supplied 426 HEMI, one of the nicest ones i hav ever seen, it actually has a alternator bracket the wheels are from the VW streetmachine bug and appear to be early porsche units exhaust pipe are custom straight pipes painted with model masters gloss black and then had allclad brushed on (couldnt be bothered to fire up the airbrush for just two pipes) the grapixs are decals i made after 2 attempts at paint and one attempt at modified the kits decals all failed so, with no further ado, heres the car (comments are welcome)

-
wont be untill the weekend, the wifey is working nights and i use her phone to take pics but there is little progress to see there is some black paint on the chassis and the engine is halfway build (no paint yet) the rollcage is assembled and the wheel centers are tacked to the wheel backs so i can start sanding the rims down to make them fit i also went ahead and removed the molded in tailpipes from the rear panel since the exhaust wont reach that far anyway
