oh, i thougt you said "pool chalk" must be your accent but that enough kidding around i have an interesting story about mold it musta been 4 years ago when me and the wifey were looking at houses we came acros this beautyfill split level ranch it was a foreclosure and they were asking 75K for it in a neighbourhood with 200-250K houses we walked in, up the stairs and into the kitchen wood flooring all around and a complete stainless steel kitchen installed every room was spotless, the backyard was great and it had a nice deck me and the wifey couldnt imagine the bank only wanting 75K for this house and we were ready write a check for it but we decided to check out the lower level first when we got to the bottom of the steps we couldnt believe our eyes spotless white tiles flooring with no furniture what so ever except one piece a stainless steel table which the wifey recognized as a discetion table (she worked at a morgue for a while) all around the room there was about a 4 feet tall collar (from the ground up) which looked like black mold the whole thing was so morbid we didnt dare stay in there any longer or even make a bid on the house a few months later i saw it went to auction but i dont know if it ever got sold

Good deal or no?
diymirage replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
hold on Andy, i can think of a great use for something like this (as a mather of fact, ive seen people on here do it) if you are fixing on building a dioramama of a resto in progress and you need something that is down to bare metal (say a whole fender) this stuff might be just what the docter ordered -
well, i got about 3 more minutes of work in on the 'cuda and i've made some desicions, the engine will be a fuel injected hemi, hilborn style the rolling stock will be keystone mags, i have a set left over from the 67 GTX that will run on the front and a set of custom deep dishes for the rear that i got from Ma's Resin the hood will iether the a resin AAR hood (the wifeys favotire) or the stock supplied prostreet hood (the boys favorite) determining factor will be the clearance needed for the injection stacks now...does anyone know the model masters code for moulin rogue ?
-
you know what i would like to see ? deep dish cragar SS or similar rims (deep dish spiders would rock) or really any nice looking aftermarket rims that would fit into the mickey thompson sprtsman tires i just get so sick of the flat solid rims revell puts in thier kits and what about a nice set of headers with sidepipes for B bodie mopars ?
-
allright fellars i decided on.....the....cuda its an old PMC so probably around 75 parts ? i figured i could get it knocked out easily still have a lot to decide on rolling gear and engine set up...(for the egine, should the hemi be dual carbs, injected or blown) but at least i got to work on it i got my table all set up (had to work on the kitchen table since the wifey is at work and the boy was sleeping) and i had just glued the two halves of the engine together when my boy woke up looks like thats all the progress for me today
-
i might join in on this...having a hard time decicing on the kit thought it will iether be a 71 duster with a 318 with a shortened viper intake (pro touring style) or it will be an old MPC pro street barracuda...iether way it will be iether panter pink or moulin rogue

diymirage replied to scubadiver411's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
i think it was about the same my LHS doesnt charge me to order stuff, only when i pick it up -
i wouldnt suggest melting the suspension, there have got to be better ways then that look into the tabs Rick mentioned and if that doesnt work well think of something else

diymirage replied to scubadiver411's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
is that the re-issue allready ? or could he be looking at an origenal? the reason i asked is because i stopped in at my LHS (riders in grand rapids) and i pre-ordered one of the re-issues and they told me it wasn't due out untill mid december -
hi Jacob, welcome aboard there are a few tricks to get the front (or rear) end of a car to sit just the way you like it there are many guys on here who tinkle with it instead of using the kits ride height, depending on the type of car they are building ive never build the kit you have so its hard to give the best anwser but if you post some pics of the front suspension components id be more then happy to give you my opinion on it

this is perfect for me as you may have noticed, i havent been online in a while because i just havent had time to model but lately ive been having the bug again and with winter at my door (winter, right, 50 degrees and its the middle of november, im in michigan....maybe there is something to this global warming nonsence) anywho, here are some of my "under the bench" projects my dodge 3-3-8 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46847 as you can read in my last post i had some plans for paint, well i went ahead with them and they looked hideous so for this project to restart i will need to strip all the paint and start over...which is what has kept me from getting going on this one again larry/s new outdoors vehicle http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=38980http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=38980 no real reason why this one stalled, nothing im waiting on and i should be able to buckle down and finish her up some sort of rod http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40797 not sure why this one stalled, just not my cup of tea but i would like to see it come to fruition 75 dodge dart http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=38061 this one was going well untill i decided to order some resin parts for it and it sat for a while awaiting those parts of course, by the time the parts got here i had lost interest in the build...shouldnt take much to finish this one and finally, my hotwheels GTX http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45030 not sure why this one stalled, i guess i just run out of modeling time also shouldnt take much to finish this puppy up so, there you have it, a short and very inconclusive list of my stalled projects, i am now taking votes on what you guys want to see finished
