  1. well, i was tinkering with her a little bit today and i just couldnt get the hood to close after a carefull investigation it turned out that the airfilter sits too high...the same airfilter/carb combination i snatched from the partsbox (see what happens when you cut corners?) so i guess i will paint up the kit supplied pieces and then see if that hood wants to close properly
  2. looks good Jonathan this is one of my all time favorite muscle cars: a MOPAR as for the exhaust, i would see if anyone has a set of the pro-street mufflers found in the 70 pro-street superbees they would look great on there
  3. i use regular sewing thread it takes a while and it brakes rather often but it works very well, just wrap a bit aroun each index finger and run the thread back and forward over the panel line. the thread will slowly cut through it while following the panel lines
  4. what is that....a hotwheel ?
  5. can i buy a vowel please ?
  6. like greyish white to me looks like a cool project
  7. The wheels are a lot larger then I like them on a classic car,now if you were builing a 2008 charger that would be a differnt story. But that's just my opinion....who knows, once the paint is on I might like them. They will set the the car off for sure. Asfor the decals, shoot me a PM and we'll work out the decals
  8. i will see your supercharger hemi..... and i will raise you 3 cams and 2 turbos
  9. engine looks great allready rich personally not diggin those wagon wheels, i liked the steelies better but if you do go with them you need a flashy paintscheme maybe a high gloss electric blue with the kit stripes ? (or if you like what i did on mine i can whip you up a set)
  10. Seems to me that if your going with those deep dish steelies a high gloss paint job would be mismatched. If I were tobuild it I would keep the steelies and go with a flat black paintjob (ever seen the deathproof chevy?) I know not everyone likes that "unfinished" look but I think it would work well with those times (As a matter of fact, just mail me the kit and ill build it for you)
  11. thanks flat black with steelies and poverty caps ? oh, and put straight pipes on it, make that hemi roar
  12. its a great kit and i think box stock would be nice aswell now, if you want to spice it up there are plenty of ways to do it i have one on the bench where in trying to replicate a hotwheels car i scanned those yellow decals and turned them into marbled panels then i painted the car duplicolour metallic black (with a german silver belt) the interior on mine is red and the wheels are porsche i wouldnt change anything on the engine , it comes with a nice set of headers and a great hemi only one i have ever seen with a ALTERNATOR BRACKET
  13. "girlfriends nailpolish" youre not fooling anyone...thats all yours (on a side note, i have more nailpolish myself then my wife does, its cheaper then the tiny testor bottles and great for those showrods)
  14. better get used to it andy, unless you marry for money this is the story of our lives one a more serious note though, if i could make a suggestion, walmart has thier 97 cent paint cans i have a few models i painted with those and though they are not showroom qaulity not every build calls for a showroom quality finish does it? just the other day i say a 1:1 mustang (think it mighta been a 66) and it had a nice shiny red paintjob on it i thought it looked perty cool but a day later i saw a similar stang in flat black primer and that ride looked menacing i think this might be the time to build one of those "couldnt afford a paintjob cos i spend all my moneys on a hemi and blower" type builds
  15. kia has a car out called the forte which i wouldnt mind owning at the same time hyundai (who shares a lot of parts with kia) has a few cars that look great , the 05-08 tiburon and the genesis for instance these two companies are trying to do to lexus what lexus did to to toyoya 20 years ago having owned a huydai (with kia components) i can tell you the quality is there
  16. i dabbled with it a bit but ended up getting photosoup instead i didnt like the controls off gimp and like you had a tough time finding tutorials on the web im sure they are out there but not in the abundance that PS tuts are
  17. i will put ti back on my to do list hopefully i can get the wifey to help me by giving me some time to work on it right after i change the oil cut the lawn fix the weedwhatcker whack the weeds fix the drain and im sure she can come up with a few more ideas
  18. one thing i often notice on weathered builds is that the story calls for a car that has been sitting in a barn for the last 32 years but somehow it has brand new tires on it (even my regular "showroom builds" often have to shiny tires on them) any tips from the masters on this ?
  19. ja, Fahrvergnügen (im sure this seems out of place, but it was part of a VW comercial here in the US and its about the only german some americans know)
  20. welcome about neighbour i remember being a teen and jumping across the border into Kleve to do some shopping and eat at the "kochsloffel" so how bout some pic?
  21. you can just use watered down black acrylic paint for the wash aswell as for the rear tires, get yourself a bolt with 2 nice big washers and a nut sandwich the tire between the washers and tighten the nut then put the whole thing in a drill and run it in reverse (otherwise the nut will loosen up) now all you got to do is take a piece of sandpaper to it and those tires will be good as old in no time
  22. and my VW bug, converted to a front engine RWD pick'm'up truck (ill finish her one day) engine is from a VW GTI with a custom turbo (yes i know its hooked up wrong)
  23. you know this will moved to the "under glass" section right ? well, here is mine by the way, is there a limit on how many 4bangers i stick in one car? there is also one in the front but i cant find a pick of it and remember that ford 4banger i showed? well, it belonged in this here focus, but it has been replaced, i hope that doenst disqualify this (ex)4 banger
  24. i get mine from ebay (cant remember the seller right now) in packs of 10 for about 12 dollars shipped it comes in both clear and white you need to consider a few things before you make a choice on which one to use here your printer can not print white so if there is any white in the decal you need to print it on white paper OR paint a white panel on the model where the clear decal will go the main downside to white paper is that you need to be very carefull when cutting the decal or you will get a halo effect here is a model im working on where the decal is printed on white paper and there is a slight halo effect, the white outline of the decal) on the other hand you can use clear decal paper IF there is no white in the decal BUT clear decals only work good on light coloured models or the decal will not show, just like trying to paint light colours over dark. so you need to ask yourself what colour your model will be and if there is any white in it if you have any other questions feel free to PM me
