  1. if you know the diameter of the circle heres what you do put a nail in something solid, a piece of wood, the vice, you name it then tie a peice of string to that nail at a distance that is exactly half the diameter you tie a pen put your styrene under the pen and make a circle keeping the string tight there you have it...make shift protractor
  2. hey guys, my son ran off with my bottle of turle wax and dropped it, splitting the bottle the good news is the floor has never been so shiny the bad news is, i have nothing to wax my models with what do you guys suggest ? (i've allready polished it)
  3. unions should be oultawed they are the reason americans get about as much productivity out of a 50 week year as europeans do out of a 40 week year not too mention what they did to the big 3
  4. its all good like i said, i only had it happen to me onces but it happened to be a decal i was making for a fellow modeler that was going in the tail end of a superbee and had to be colour matched to the (allready painted) interior) so it had to be close to perfect
  5. if they hadn't seen the way i ride it that might fly
  6. no problem one last thing to mention (and this has only happened to me the one time) but there is a shade of aqua blue that every time i printed it came out fine, but when i clearcoated it it changed hues on me. depending on how big a deal (and decal) it is i would suggest printing the right colour, one a tad lighter and one a tad darker. that way you should be all set (or if close is good enough one decal will do)
  7. i thought that was a band?
  8. i agree...but what would make it really work is if you welded that escape hatch shut this oughta be good for a "what is a general lee car" debate
  9. lets see how many of those version we can get a build up posted from i'll go first, mine is the modified stockers kit (with trailer) it has the flatty in it and for good measure here is the firedome engine aswell
  10. thats right, i've been riding the weedwhacker to work for weeks now my coworker dubbed it the weedwhacker because according to him his weedwacker has a bigger engine then the bike...at 50 CC i dont dare argue (back on topic) theres a orange lambo diablo that runs around town here word on the street is that it belongs to a person selling ilicit material who won he lottery with the winnings he bought all sorta of stuff including the car at some point the feds got a hold of him and took everything he had...except for the lambo cos he put it on his grandma's name probably the only part true about the story is that its an orange lambo
  11. a second option (inferior but an option nonetheless) would be to cover it in BMF im no good at it myself but ive seen builds by Nick Winter that had valve covers wrapped in BMF that looks great
  12. the idea is right but you still wrong, you see, when you print the computer makes the assumption you use white paper to print on so it mixes the paint to look the colour you selected based on a white background thats why you can print a nice deep orange decal on clear paper and have it almost disapear when you apply that decal to a windshield...it is missing the white background the computer presumes is there
  13. i only have two the orange one is a very old buil OOB nothing added the tan one is a little different custom high rise AAR hood, hilborn fuel injection from a 396 firedome, a set of spyder rims and a superbee wing (i dubbed this one "chicken of the sea" and a shot of it coming of the line hard over at thunder alley
  14. looks great but if i could make a suggestion...take a little drill to the exhaust tips it will make it look even better
  15. you know, i was readin the "under glass" post for the demon and this duster shows a lot of improvement on your skills allready i find little things go wrong with my builds almost every time so dont get too bummed out by the glass issues, you're definatly moving in the right direction
  16. well, if we're including dealers in this, verhage got a 70 AAR cuda for a cool 60 grand
  17. paint looks great rims...not my first choice...or second or third. in the first picture it look like the frame is sitting to low....is that an optimal illusion (yes i have been watching lord of the beans) or does it still need some work ?
  18. arent you glad those guys dont run NASA ? the moonlanding would have taken place on mars
  19. look closely and you can find a linnen closet underneath the seats thats where all the sheets are untill night time (would you believe i had to read through the entire thread twice before i got that)
  20. i went in there the other day to send a small decal to a fellow member i usually use the padded envelops but this one was so little i sandwiched it in between a sheet of cardstock and figured a regular envelop will do, just like a birthday card so i handed it to the girl and asked her to weigh it for me to make sure a regular stamp would do she weighed it and confirmed my hopes that all it took was a regular stamp so i handed her my carefully counted 37 cents and she looked at me like i was crazy so told me stamps now cost 44 cents i was absolutely flabergasted...mumbled something about obama, the economy and prisonrape and handed her another 7 cents 2 days later i got a PM saying the decals got there
  21. i spy with my little eye....a section of garden hose
  22. there has been a yellow king cobra or mach one or some type of early seventies mudstank on a lot for as long as ive lived in this city (8 years or so) the suddenly, last week....it was gone i wonder if it sold or just colapsed or what
  23. thanks for the reply Ron all the interior parts in my camper came from the open road camper/racers wedge kit the fridge is actually a widdled down cabinet it had two chrome plates on on side (most likely a fridge and a A/C unit) that i cut out due to lack of room im very pleased with the way it all fit but i did a LOT of sanding allready
