  1. seeing how im Dutch this is a mill: but it is also slang for engine, which i what i ment in this case, just curious what engine is in the kit
  2. maybe we should make a monte build thread...we could call it a montage (slightly off topic, but does anyone know what mill is in the class action/wheeler dealer? )
  3. to be honoust, i kinda backed away fom this one, partly because of the subject matter but mostly because of the date, pretty much anything over 6 months is too much for may attention span so i figured id let it run its course for a year or so and then jump in who knows, i might even come across an affordable kit by then
  4. you know brandon, you pick the most hated version ever kitted of the charger (if im not mistaking is based of the number two most hated and yet most sold general lee kit) and im afraid that is whats keeping the charger lovers at bay then again, this is your build and quite frankly, you dont see to many 70 chargers so i think its cool and you should build it however you want if i can give you a word of advise thoug, rescribe the door panels and maybe ad a little trim line around those wheelwells because it seems you polished it up too good and there is some detail missing any thoughts on interior colour ? i really like that blue you picked and i think an off white with wood accents would really make it pop
  5. is that a tire swing in the back ground or a flotation device ?
  6. nope, but styrene floats so build one
  7. looks pretty good are the pegasus rims aluminum ? ive build modele like that where the rear end was too wide and a lot of time it was easier to remove some material from the inside of the wheel rather then to section the rear end regardless, it looks good
  8. thats a cool build always nice to see people enjoying thier rides once its done you should make a little video of the roof opening and closing
  9. not a trumpeter but i started fiddling with the AMT class action monte today (repop of the old wheeler dealer i think)
  10. looks good dont forget to give the front grille enclosuresome weathering aswell i like the matched rims a lot better as for the first engine , i think that is a repop of the old 392 desoto firedome hemi but by putting the generic valvecovers on there revell saved itself from having to license it as a mopar product IMHO that is the only engine to put in any rod that doesnt have a hood but the 426 definatly screams power
  11. if you are truly willing to donate it i will follow your instructions on how to build it...honostly....ill stick to the 454
  12. looks great love the extra rubber on the fenders got any underbody shots ?
  13. maybe its a ford problem :>
  14. i might have a later model mustang engine we could trade but to awnser your question considering the size of the engine bay in truck of that era you should have no problem fitting 2 of em in there
  15. coming together nicely Mike i would keep the bed full lenght if it were my call, i like how sleek it looks that way and im afraid if you shorten it it will become more pudgy (almost like it would take away from the visual effect of chopping the top)
  16. looks like another kit to ad to the "been there done that" list
  17. several things, but in one word :trimming when you cut the part from the tree (also called sprue) you want to leave a little nub on the part the you use you exacto knife to trim that nub of and make the part look nice you apply the same trimming to what is called "flash" flash is when the molds dont perfectly close or fit and you get a little rim of extra material on the part these are also called mold lines with a knife you can trim all that off and get a nice clean part, though you might want to hit it with some sandpaper to make it even nicer
  18. looks like a morgan to me, reminds me of the car the dad drove in the cartoon "Jan, Jans en de kinderen" (ill try to find a pic) (EDIT) nevermind, that one was a 52 MG midget
  19. it kinda depends on what and why you are building it sometimes i like builiding kits out of the box where glue paint sandpaper and a knife are all i need other times i make something that requires more scratchbuilding and you can ad styrene, a hacksaw, a lighter, Q tips, 30 gauge wire, ink, pastels and polishing materials
  20. you know thos ebay listing that say "junkyard lot" ? there ya go
  21. seriously ? a year and a half ? that seems a bit overkill there is no way im gonna remember by then not with my attention deficit oooh shiny
  22. feel free to donate it to me, ill build it for you
  23. well, i like the styling on it better, the spoiler, hood and sidepipes plus, i like the cragars on it (not sure whats on the AMT 70.5) its just one of those things where if i have a choice id rather have the BM version
  24. thanks Dave i always enjoy stocking up the partsbox and im no big fan of chevies so if i toss a SBC in there it will probalby stay there untill i decide to build a civic or something but if i toss a 454 in there at least there is some hope of it ever seeing a decent build (im planning on building the camaro with a DOHC hemi for that perfect blend of camaro looks and hemi power)
  25. i stopped by the local stores today but all i founded was the new AMT 70.5 camaro and id like to get the baldwin motion OR a 2-n-1 kit that would fill the partsboxs
