got a little work done today fixed up the rolling stock, worked on the frame and made up a front grille for it the grille is made out of the front fenders of the 32 ford i vaguely remember seeing a section on this on sesame street by this feller right here im not pleased with how far the wheels stick out but those are the tires i wanted and i dont really wanny fix it...maybe ill slap on some fenderextenders
-
that thought has crossed my mind too, maybe not the entire grill but definatly the fenders i started this build mainly so i could free up the driveline from the viper and this looked like a good idea
-
and a quick shot of the cabin its a viper GTS cab that has been narrowed by about a a scale foot and a half looks like im gonna have to scratch the interior aswell my main hangup is coming up with a front end that looks right on the car
-
looks good and the good news is...its totally rebuildable

its not a matter of not put any clear on the decals, the issue is clearing the entire body INCLUDING the decals all at once i would suggest clearing the body BEFORE you aply the decals, but shoot some clear (preferedly dullcoat) over the decalsheet that way the decals will stay well and not look like part of the paintjob

hey guys here is the introduction to my newest WIP its some sort of rod though im not sure on the exact term, street or rad rod or something (not really my cup of tea but why not) the whole idea came to life when i picked up the main body in europe for 9,95 euros (a revell of germany kit) its a great car but slightly boring OOB and ive been wating for a way to harvest the driveline out of it for a muscle car well, it finally came to me, ill make it into a rod of some sort after scowering through the partskit i found a 32 ford frame that i will need to Z to make the body sit right but it had both axles so it will do the trick i havent figured out rolling stock yet but im thinking this might be a good chance to unload some of those hideous centerlines they put in every muscle car kit (if only i had some wide white walls for the rear) since this project wont have a hood on it (though i will build a grille for it) it will be perfect for the 392 firedome i build ages ago that come in the modified stockers ford truck heres a shot of the firepower

looks great the only suggestion i would have for a ralyl car is to add the decals after clearcoating it especially the "rally of monte carlo" plaque is a plastic plate or a sticker that is not part of the paint job and only stays on there for one race (to be replaced with the next races name) so it would make no sence to clear coat over it

looks nice harry i was listening to moody radio doing a live broadcast from foundersweek and the speaker was commenting on how ample parking was today -
though at 5 dollars a kit, i would take all i can, the ones i didnt like i would save for that occasion when something i do like shows up on the trade section and offer them up then plus, at 5 dollars a kit, i could stand ripping the engine and wheels out without feeling bad for a bash

well, i woke up to about 20 inches of fresh snow this morning (with drifts up to 4 foot tall) i got up at 4.30 to clean the driveway, got that done by about 5.15 i cleared a path to back the cars out and then i figured id run my passat in the track the wifey would make with the charger no dice, the charger got about 5 foot and by then it had rode up on the fresh snow and lifted all 4 wheels of the ground so i dug her back out and told her to call in a snow day then i put on my hunting clothes and started my 3 mile walk to work made it about 3/4 of the way there when a coworker picked me and let me drive the rest of the way in the bed of his truck -
Another Hobby Shop Closing
diymirage replied to Towmaster Dave's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
its really to bad but at the same time its understandable its very hard for me to drive 30 miles to my local hobby shop to buy a kit for 24.95 plus tax when i can order the same kit for 15 dollars shipped to my front door from the comfort of my living room having said that, you just can not replace the people who work there and have all the know how i love going there just to get some good advice and ideas so everytime i do go there i try to support them by spending some moneys -
thanks once i find my slodering gun ill get to work on the headers these pictures really dont do the paint justice, in the sunlight is sparkles like crazy

got a little work done to the GTX over the weekend BMFed, detailed, cleared and polished the body afixed all for wheels and started work on the engine here are some shots of where she sits (should be able to put everything minus the engine together tomorrow after the glass dries i wanted the engine to look new, but not factory, like it was rebuild by a speedshop, so i went with a nice racy (non factory) red

this is a great place for paying it forward because there are so many people who are good to deal with on here i do enjoy hearing that whatever i send out got there well, i know i sent out 2 sets of decals 8 days ago, im sure they must have reached thier destinations by now but i havent had any conformation from iether recipiant but we are not alone in this, even our Lord went trough this in Luke 17 when He cleansed 10 lepers and only one came back and thank Him so were in good company

-
depending on the year of the model put some blue or yellow paint in there, just a tiny bit to make the lens look more real

Hello & Pro Street Question
diymirage replied to jwood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
as Eric pointed out, there are actually parts in the kit to build it iether way, as a street hemi or as the expirmental DOHC heres a shot of one i build with some boost on it if that is the one with the red box art car, be carefull, ive heard several accounts of this being a stock kit that has been mislabeled and does NOT contain a pro street chassis or drivetrain
