  1. not a problem, this place is a treasury of information i do love that pro street bee and the DOHC hemi doesnt hurt iether
  2. hi Jesse, welcome abaord i went through my stash and i dont have a 55 belle aire but i do have a 57 the best fit i could find was AMTs 1970 superbee chassis all you would need to do is trim the back end and make a small connection between the front and the engine bay it even fits without cutting out the back seat (that is asuming the 55 and 57 are the same) i tried the pro street nova but that one would require a lot more work and doesnt even come with a hemi
  3. there ya go i love it
  4. DONT do any research your building YOUR dream model, not Ma Mopars dream model so if you like the 68 tail with the 69 front panel, go for it dont put on anything you are not 100% pleased with, if you have a set of rims in mind get THAT set of rims, dont get something that is close, era correct or factory stock, build it the way YOU want it
  5. when i told the wifey about this she said (and i qoute) "ive seen what you can do in 24 hours: there is peices missing, everything is scatthered on the dining room table and my dishes are dirty. there is no way you are doing this" so i guess im out
  6. looks like your off to the right start as far as the camber goes, i think it looks ridiculous and if it were my build i would set the wheels down normal having said that, its not my build its yours i know that often acuracy is our goal, but its only plastic and easthetics are just as important so in the end, those are you choices
  7. i would have to go with the AMT 74 GTX the first time i bought the kit i only got it because it was on sale for 7 bucks or so i was very impressed when i opened the box and found not just a stock GTX but also a nice set of speedline rims, a superbird wing, the most chrome dress up parts i have ever seen on a kit engine and my all time favorite street tires (cosindering M/T sportsmans a pro tire) i have one build and one building but i wouldnt hesitate to build a case of them, if the price was right the one that is done (some of the engine chrome) the one thats in progress
  8. off the top of my head 69 dayclona - working on 74 GTX - working on deora hunting camper dio - working on VW bug converted to front engine RWD pickup - no excuse 37 ford hotrod - no excuse corvette concept - stuck on interior color daf 95 SSC - messed up the paint, put back in the box 8 car trailer for the daf - put away with tractor 75 dart - waiting on resin parts L-700 - forgot to paint small parts - stalled chevy belair - its a chevy, i just dont care to build it 56 ford victoria - messep up the paint and melted the body in the pond im sure there is more but it seems i have a much larger group of models UNDER the workbench then ON it
  9. definatly round seems to have more character if you ask me
  10. i would suggest cutting a thin strip that you glue to the inside of the cab, creating a lip then you place a piece of however much wider you want the cab to be on those lips and your all set you might want to glue in one section at a time, start on one side, let it dry and then move on to the roof . once the roof is dry glue in the other side you can use regular model glue or something more "suitable" like tenax
  11. allright guys, i will raise the whole thing up a bit you know, i used to use the regular picutres but for some reason they always show up at 98% on my computer and i cant see a darn thing on them cos i would need a screen 4 times the size i have i sure will, but when i got the body the nose was allready grafted on i will get to the headlight thoug, i just gotta keep on keeping on
  12. got a little work done on rusty today got the rolling stock figured out, put the wing together and figured out the stance what do you guys think ? real car model
  13. go over to the wallmart and buy yourself one of those "for sale" signs, you know, the red and orange ones that go on cars its a little thicker then what would be perfect but it will do and is very affordable
  14. just chop it down and make it into a inline 4 turbo or put in the radiator sideway, or udnerneath it
  15. by that logic you should go all out and slap a japanese inline 6 turbo in it something found in a supra or a nissan
  16. missed it by "that" much but no ford engine will roast those hides what you need my friend is a desoto hemi that would be perfect for the feel and power of this baby
  17. im pretty sure i got a inline 6 from some import in the parts box supra maybe?
  18. i know, but with me living in michigan i have to for the home team which is the lions sides, if the keep up next season like they did the last 4 games it will be just like 88 again
  19. i know, i thought for sure they would have em man, after the lions, i really had the bears pegged for this year
  20. dont forget to sing up for email updates and coupons for micheals and hobby lobby, both of them frequently send out 40 or 50 % of one item that will definatly soften the blow to the old wallet on that brush and compressor, even if it means making two trips so you can use two coupons
  21. seems to me you just need to find the pattern and then print a decal if the model has enough detail molded in you should be all set
  22. the thinner it is the more flexible, but then its also less strong you can manipulate it with heat though, warm it up over a candle and press it over the existing cab first time might not look too good but keep having at ti and youll get it
  23. welcome aboard james most people will tell you to buy a second cab and use that to make the stretched version but if you insist on using just the one cab i would suggest sheet styrene, they should sell it at your local hobby shop or you can use the for sale signs you would put on a car as for the bondo, thats the same i use but there are many people who do not like the 1 part because it shrinks and cracks and can ruin the paint job underneath
  24. got the daytona in the mail yesterday it was partially started as a pro street it looks like so i will have to replace the interior tub and the chassis by those from a superbee the motor will also be from a superbee (got one in the partsbox) a 440 looks like all i really need is the hood and the glass ill have to check the partsbox for usable units later aswell as rolling stock from the looks if it it runs steelies up front and cragar SSs in the rear
  25. how about model masters turn signal amber ? the bottle looks like this but sprayed over model masters german silver (also a metallic paint) it looks like this id imagine you can get a more warm reddish colour by spraying it over a red basecoat
