  1. one a related note, i wathced inception the other day its a great movie if you are one of those people who like to watch the first 20 minutes, sleep for an hour and the catch the end and not feel like you missed a thing but i digest there was a hummer in there which was clearly based on the pugeot from taxi 3 (for those of you who havent seen inception, nor taxi 3, it has small tracks on all 4 corners to navigate through the snow) that would be a cool subject too
  2. if you really want a good anwser scan the instructions for the front suspension and that way we can tell you how to desing this
  3. honoustly, i dont like the looks of those sidepipes and ill tell you why: the collector is showing, it isnt a clean look if i were to build them (or better, when i build them) i always put the collectors in the engine bay or under the frame so that all you see on the outside is a nice clean uniform pipe as for how to build it , really the question is, how much of this are you scratch building ? if you have a set of headers all you need is a nice piece of styrene tube or rod to make the pipes out of if you are scratchbuilding the headers as well i would use solder for that, then use aluminum tube for the pipes and heatschrink tube for the collectors
  4. well, i made it halfway through the first drawing before i had to deviate from the instructions the instructions tell me to paint the entire engine blue with the exception of the valley cover, that is alluminum well, i checked the box and sure enough the engine in the car on the box has a BLUE valley cover
  5. i was hoping you would say that (insert evil laugh here)
  6. i opened up the box today so quick recap we can ad paint, plugwires, change suspension what about BMF ? and am i trying to build JUST by intstruction or also trying to replicate the box art ?
  7. iether clear or dull coat will work fine (just remember to cut close the the decal) acrylic or laquer doesnt really matter as long as you allow everything to dry properly
  8. you know what woud look good ? if you were to make a few puddles with that clear glue to make it look like the roof leaks
  9. thanks Jim the flat one just didnt look right to me and the prostock scoop that was included was just too much this worked out well plus it let me run the paintscheme across the front of the car aswell
  10. seems to me most of the times a carefully polish with micromesh followed by a coat or two of future does the trick
  11. keep a close eye on his builds and you will spot one every time (one of these days ill print him out a sheet of vietnam ribbon license plates to make his life a little easier, its the least i can do) as for the car, i like it nice details with the updated brakes and such my only suggestion would be a little bit of detail in the console, i mean, if the owner went through the trouble of installing it there has got to be something to it right ? maybe ad a playstation ?
  12. is that the one with the V8 and the straight 6 ?
  13. i wanna say ive seen them on ebay maybe search for 1/25 diorama
  14. tiny little update got the decals done and a little detail painted but not all yet got the clearcoat on it (the primer looks pretty decent actually) now im ready to put the glass in and the interior until i get the speed parts in i dont have much more i can do
  15. looks good thats a nice garage you got there too as for collectors, i would use some heatshrink tube and a piece of styrene tube for the pipe
  16. never quite got the math on those kits 3 sets of rims for 1 set of tires but they do have different spoilers front airdams and rear difusers
  17. get a hold of alan raab from ma's resin, not only does he sell those massive mickey thompsons (for a mere 2 or 3 bucks a pair) he is also in the proces of casting not one but two sets of rims that fit them other then that, i have found that its pretty simple to make rims yourself (if i remember correctly) i used a 3/4 inch section of 1 inch tubing once for the barrel of the rim then i found a wheel i liked the heart of that i super glued in the middle and them i put a tiny 1/2 round ring of styrene around the very top and bottom to make the beads that keep the tires in (ill try to find some pics later)
  18. i almost always brush mine (also because of the size) all the parts that need to be the same colour get glued and cleaned up, then painted as a whole (engine halves and sometimes heads) then the intake mani is usual aluminum so that gets painted on its own before it gets gleud on
  19. you're really pounding them out (i counted 4 in my class of '10) its cool to see how your skills are progessing
  20. that looks great im just gonna go ahead and let you know i put it one on the top of my Christ mass list you know, i used to work in a place very similar to it, the 3 foot tall cinders were poured concrete but other then that it looked the same i loved running my 1:1 in there to get those picture you speak off any word on what you are planning on doing to shield of the light in this scenery ? (seems like cars pictured in these settings need a very low light background)
  21. quite a bit of work went into that one half of the detail is in the paint, half in the decal not to mention getting the hinge perfectly lined up so the hood looks good open and closes well
  22. thanks after seeing your class i feel like such an overachiever
  23. thanks i just finished foiling and clearing the R/C superbee last night so there is a good chance that one will be done this year the bug im having issues with the interior with i had it pretty much done so i put in the glass, firewall and floorpan and then the dashboard and steering wheel came undone so im not sure how to fix it now
  24. almost forgot this one its a dodge dually converted to one single rear rim per side with a mickey thompson tire on each its a curbside so i added the shaker to make it look like it runs a hemi and custom build the toolbox
  25. i love that kit i have 3 of them in my stash, 2 me and and my nephew are building side by side, im making mine as a regular 426 hemi with the cross ram intake and he is building his with the DOHC hemi i did get some different wheels for it since i am just so sick and tired of the centerline (though i like the way CJTORINO did his) the other one i have im making into somewhat of an overcharged DOHC and that mill is the only one i actually have pictures off my only other suggestion is to look at the two cars pictured above and check out the front panel between the headlights the yellow on is colour matched and the pink one isnt IMHO the yellow one looks better
