  1. ill do you one better, buy the special edition 32 ford and the mags will come with valve stems molded in
  2. id say model because of a feature that i have only seen in real life on alfa romeos with a very specific front end
  3. forget the 70s and get yourself a revell Z-28 twin turbo instead i just finished mine (and it came with 2 cool hoodscoops) otherwise i would say get the baldwin, more car for the moneys
  4. hey guys got this kit a few days ago from a fellow board member and decided to knock it out of the park before years end no major mods on this one, changed the ride height , different wheels and a different engine is all the front wheels sit in the kits highest position and the rear has been lifted about 2 scale inches i used the spider rims and read tires from the revell twin turbo Z29 so i had to raise the rear suspension to clear the fenders (gotta love those old MPC kits) i just got a piece of 1/8th styrene tube and glued it on top of the stock rear porches interior is bone stock and pretty much done (just added flocking) i decide to toss the stock engine in the parts box and finish up a allready half assembled 440 from the 69 charger the exhaust is curtousy of a 71 superbee not sure if ill be able to clear the subframe with the pipes on them (they would end halfway past the door anyway) or iff ill just run headers and call her good im waiting on a little something something from ma's resin to really make this 440 run for once i actually like the kit supplied decals so i will be painting the body a twotone to acompany them any suggestions are always welcome
  5. not a lot of pics at all i wouldnt hesitate to put on more if you want i like it, really like the combination of green and black accents my only concern (and this might be my eyes going bad) would be that it appears the tires are on backwards ?
  6. thanks steve:) im quite pleased with the way it came out have a look at the pics in the showroom, she has all the chrome parts on it that are missing in these shots, really make it snap
  7. holy flash batman is the whole kit as bad as that sprue ? this car is near the top of both my want lists (1/24 and 1/1) looking forward to seeing it done
  8. what engine comes with that ride ? either way, id say save that for when you build a boat (you will need and anchor) and slap a 426 hemi in there now that would be cool oh, and dont forget some sweet custom decals
  9. speaking of closing the gap...how do you like this peice ?
  10. ive had a badger 150 dual action before and that was a great brush then i got out of the hobby for a while and when i got back in i bought a paasche single action and to be honoust, im not missing the dual action plus, (and this is what i love about it most) the single action i have has basically a "paint head" on it and that is the only part that needs cleaning (just have a look at this picture) https://www.airbrushbodyart.co.uk/shop/images/h-airbrush-only.jpg you only take out the small part that comes off off the ball and that contains the needle and it was about half the price of the dual action thats just my 2 cents
  11. very nice build, i espicially like the detailed interior when i first saw it it brought to mind the comercial for the dodge challenger "a car made by people who love cars for people who love cars to pass by people who dont really love cars" it gave me a flicker of hope that even though i missed the haydays of american muscle maybe i could witness a small revival afterall
  12. moved her to the showroom today
  13. went to the hobby lobby a while ago with a 40 % off coupon and came how with a 69 Z28 pretty much a straight OOB build, i just added plug wires and changed the rolling stock setup (different wheels on the driver and passengerside to match the paintjob) about the paintjob...when i was young i scooted around town on dirtbikes, i went everywhere on those things and i was always getting into trouble with the cops (something about needing a license, registration and all that nonsence) usually i would just get some rattle cans and paint my bike a different color when the cops got to know it too well one day me and my buddies were sitting in the bar and we had this great idea...what if we painted one side of the bike blue and the other side red? that would cut our changes of being recognized in half so we did and thats where the idea for this paintjob came from my only gripe about the kit is that it didnt come with radiotor hoses, something i plan to fix before putting her on the shelf for good as always, comments are welcomed
  14. little trick that i picked up over time is to make a test print on regular paper then cut out a peice of decal paper just a little bigger then the decal and tape that over the test paper this way you will know exactly where the decal will print and you only use what you need
  15. that does explain why you only wear one sock always wondered why that was...now i know
  16. a second thing that is often overlooked is the panel between/below the headlights that should be body colour but since it is part of the chrome bumper a lot of people over look that when painting the model in fact (just to show your not the only one) if you were to look at the box art of the 71 pro street superbees you will see that even the modelers who build the model model overlooked it really, thats the only thing i can complain about that and the fect your building it the same colour as im building my RC version (body is from the same kit)
  17. hi Henry, welcome aboard there really is no set way on doing things i let the model dertermine the amount of sanding and primering i do rather then follow a "formula" there are however a few good guidelines if you are going to paint the model use a primer that works with the paint you are using (and you do want to use a primer) i would suggest giving the primer several days or even a week to dry (same thing with the base coat if you are doing a clear coat over it) that way you know for sure the primer is cured and it wont crack the base coat later the only other advise i can give without seeing your build is test fit every part before and after the paint dries the paint will ad a tiny layer to every part which is sometimes enough to make it not fit you want to fix this before painting it so you wont ruin your paint job other then that, just have fun, build it the way you like it and you will pick up the tricks as you go also, make sure you ad a Work In Progress thread so we can follow your work and give advise that pertains to the very thing you are doing
  18. im pretty sure i have a corvette in 1/20 scale with a bunca extra parts make me an offer
  19. found a few minutes here and there over the past weeks to work on her and i felt it was time for an update the engine is wired and installed (i figured this ride was baller enough to pull of the purple plug wires) the interior is done and installed i origenally planned on keeping the back seat and adding a rollbar but the best way i could make it sit in there required me to remove the roll bar that consequently left some holes in the backseat so out that went...consider it a weight delete option looks like just about all that is left is installing the exhaust and doing some minor paint touch up/detailing as always, im open to suggestions and comments are welcome
  20. looks like your off to a good start this is what mine looks like with mickey thompson rubbers on it
  21. looks great i really like the two tone my only concern would be that it appears the license plates are swiss but the country sticker is austrian ? (i could be wrong, its been a while since i was last in that neck of the woods)
  22. as long as they are mickey thompson sportsmans i dont mind
  23. as thin as that spoiler seems to be it should be possible to build it out of sheet styrene
  24. well here is my entry : 1968 dodge charger R/T (bronze metallic) with a 440 magnum i will be building this from the revell special edition kit that i just bought at meijers for 11.99 i hate them for no longer carrying the models as a main item but i love it how they bring them back every Christmass
