got the truck in today and imediatly started working on it (of course) the plan for this truck is to make it a race bike hauler so it will be a work truck but more along the lines of the truck in this comercial im not sure if i am planning on cutting the hood open (its a curbside kit) and installing an actual engine or not yet what i have done so far is take the front suspension and lower it about 3 scale inchers i also took off the rear dual tires now i know you might be wondering why i wanted a dually so bad and then the first thing i do is convert it into a single wheel truck...well....its pretty simple i can iether fit two BF goodrich radial long trail TA tires on the rear hub or one mickey thompson sportsman tire this is my progress so far future plans for the truck include a custom hinged tailgate that swings to the side a ramp that slides under the bed so the bike can drive up onto the bed a tool box that spans the driver side of the bed and custom paint/decals to somewhat match the bike im thinking of getting some custom rims and painting them the same bright yellow as the bikes rims but im not sure if i like that idea or not (input needed)

How to fix the steel wheels in the Revell '32 5/W
diymirage replied to RatRod's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
thats a nice tip and the best part is...it would work on other kits aswell -
i think you posted this on the bench when i first started lurking around here this build was one of the most compelling reasons i stuck around

i have a few things on my computer let me know what you are looking for and ill try to print something up (or if you have a good image i can print that for you too) as for the under hood decal sheets i printed two of yesterday (one white and one clear) that are going to Rommel (aftashock) so you guys can expect a review of them in a few days
-
now that you mention it i used to work as a machine operator forming sheetmetal with brakpresses and i build this body kit for my car there
-
i just printed some test pieces and they come out in scale on a full 8X11 (regular letter) sheet of paper i dont have decals for the filters right now, i might make some later once i get my programs installed (if im not mistaking #5 on the white decals sheet is actually a AC oil filter decal, so there might be more in there somwhere) as for pricing, i normally charge 5 dollars for a decal large enough to cover the bad of a full size 1/25 scale truck these sheets are a lot larger but at the moment the quality is a little less. to be honoust, not all of the decals came out perfectly clear (as a reference point, i printed out the white decal sheet and #s 38, 39, 40, 100, 101 and 102 seem to fuzzy to use some of the others are also a little fuzzy but i think its clear enough for the scale it is in keeping all that in mind i think 6 dollars per sheet is fair given the size and moderate quality if you would prefer to try and hamer out a trade feel free to shoot me a PM
-
i dont know yet ill try to print some trials tonight and ill let you know (havent tried printing them yet) but since the have the scale and license plates on them they should be easy enough to resize if needed

someone posted them on here ages ago and i saved them for a rainy day

got one to print on clear decal paper and one to print on white decal paper
-
let me run the deal by the wifey, i think once shipping is added this would be about the same price as a brand new kit would be and she might not approve as for the tailgate, i was planning on hinging it sideways and having a ramp that slides out from underneath it like you see on a trailer i want this to look as profesional as possible in case your wondering, this is the progress on the bike im very impressed with the casted detail on this kit i think i have only once before had a kit with valvestems and then there are brake lines, revell doesnt even have that on thier 1/12 bikes
-
let me check my desktop i think i have a file that you can print if you cant print decals yourself let me know and we'll work out a trade for a sheet
-
you know what else would be a good idea? to cast some of those tires revell uses on thier tuner series cars you know, the ones that come with 3 different set of wheels but only 1 set of tires
-
i saw they had the 69 superbee online (the revell kit) its a 2n1 kit, is this any good ? i mean, does it have nice wheels, tires and such ?
