  1. there might be some usefull information here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=517
  2. aftashock did a "how to" on hinges, it is in the tips tricks and tutorials section your making good progress i do not envy the detail painting your going to have to do to that interior are those raceland seats ?
  3. thats cool i really like the custom use of partsbox items
  4. its an interesting build but why the german insignia on the back ?
  5. if you need a control group feel free to shoot me a pair of these and ill test them for you
  6. i would love to get my greedy little hands on a few of these specially if you would be able to make these in a package deal being fronts, backs and irons hopefully once the wifey starts making some moneys next month (after 8 years of college) i can actually make some room for this kind of stuff in my budget im really excited about the idea of these being cast in soft rubber
  7. three are so many great ways to build this car but i think that the one thing that defines it right now are the rims those rims are great and they would make it a nice weekend warrior put on a small rake, two tone paint and some go fast parts without going all out
  8. looks like a great subject cant wait to see the model
  9. the paint and rims looks dead on for that car keep at it
  10. looks like your off to a good start i think i have seen these kits build before and they are a lot of work but from the looks of it you can handle it interesante keus in verf was je echt verknocht aan die citroen kleur of kon je hem goedkoop krijgen ? (ik mag natuurlijk niks zeggen over kleur want ik heb vroeger deze kadett gehad)
  11. very nice write up you know, if you would replace the solid mount with a second pipe you basically got a flip flop hinge theres a how to here for flip flop hinges http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28665
  12. guilty as charged i admit i have found out by trial and error that certain wires are great for radiator hoses and not so much for plugwires this turned out to be a better size wire
  13. hoi dirk, welcome aboard i hate to tell you this but i just seem two MR2s and i think one of them was a vielside (not sure since it wasnt what i was looking for) at toemen modelbouw in den bosch hoe dan ook, het ziet er naar uit dat je aardig op weg bent toemen specialiseert zich ook maar op radiografish bestuurbaar gerei maar er zaten zeker wel wat aardige japanse kits bij de intertoys in uden heeft ook een aardige selektie waar ergens kom je vandaan ? ik zelf kom eigenlijk uit noordbrabant maar ik woon tegenwoordig in michigan er zitten hier nog 2 or 3 meer nederlanders
  14. i got me a 1/24 yamaha YZR-M1 with the decals for the GP of france, 15 may 2005 im pretty impressed with this (its my first heller kit) and it comes with white, clear and rubber parts, waterslide decals and........valentino rossi not sure if ill build it with him on it or not or if ill use it as an excuse to buy a pickemuptruck to put it on
  15. thats too funny very nice model i dont think ive ever seen such a nice rendition of one, specially the inside
  16. there are two things you want to consider when building spark plug wire #1 what are you looking to spend ? #2 how important is it that this is scratchbuild ? if scratchbuilding doesnt have a high priority and you can stand to spend 6 dollars then your best bet (easiest way) would be to buy a pre wired distributor most people on here will tell you to buy MAD units they come with a distributor, your choice of colour spark plug wires (allready installed) a length of black wire that goes over the spark plug wires as booths) and (i beleive) a photo etched loom kit these will came with step by step instructions which are easy to follow and are pretty simple: drill a hole for the shaft and install the dizzy then drill hole for the plug wires where you would screw the plugs into the head cut of the wires a little long and cut the booths install the wire looms slide the booths over the plugwire and slide the plugwire into the hole (make sure the hole in the head is big enough for the wire but to small for the booth) put a little drop of superglue on the whole and install the wire this is the easiest way to do this but if you dont have the budget to spend on this you can make them pretty simple yourself (though generally not as nice as the premade ones) what i do when i make my own is use a section of 1/8th styrene tube that i drill out then i use beading wire (i think its 32 gauge) that i gleu in and follow the same steps as in the other example my bst advise is to get an old model engine and go to town, just get your hands dirty and try it
  17. dont worry about it i do apreciate you apologizing but really, its no big deal hopefully you can join us for the next build and get a chance to redeem yourself
  18. my best advise is when using a brush hold it almost paralel with the surface that is being painted normally you would hold the brush under a 90 degree angle but by keeping the angle at almost 0 you can controll the flow of paint much better (im having a hard time describing it but give it a shot, you'll see what i mean)
  19. come one, we've all seen leelo and stitch
  20. i considered that because i agree with you but not everyone is on every day or even once a week so, i give it a whole day and then posted the poll as people post thier work i will ad them
  21. i added a poll of all the cars that have been posted in this thread (that were also in the origenal post of course) i will ad others as thier cars are posted i also took the liberty to cast the first vote, my vote went to brizios 69 wild bee because it has the ultimate musclecar engine in it (hemi) and it is twin turbod plus, all the custom work didnt hurt either
  22. the tires are just generic muscle car tires, i think the rears came with a revell charger the spyder rims came with a firebird i build (cant remember the company or year) i have a slightly miss matched set in my parts box (two and two) shoot me a PM with an offer if you really want them
  23. that is exactly what i planned to do and this is where i want to keep them http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31712
  24. whenever you get them done just post them right here and ill set up the poll (didnt want to set up a poll with only my car in there)
