  1. couldnt find any pre wired dizzys
  2. i am actually doing a side by side build with my 12 year old nephew who is just getting into modeling (think this is his 6th or 7th model) of 170 pro street superbees we just started yesterday so we have the engines somewhat put together and painted (mine is a dual plane hemi, his is a DOHC hemi) so no pictures yet but i have a 3rd superbee kit whose engine and underpinnings i will match to a 68 charger to build the "surcharger" no pictures of that yet but i can share a quick glimpse of the mill that will power it...the doomsday machine its the DOHC hemi from the superbee with a supercharger and custom twin turbos
  3. exactly the airfilters arent hooked up yet and neither are the exhaust this is almost like having an engine with just the headers on there
  4. those blowers are a pre-production run of shucky's (mike deluco) more information is found here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=32401&pid=326659&st=0&#entry326659
  5. maybe one of these ? triple blown DOHC 426 hemi it should scoot along nicely
  6. why thank you hard to beleive thats a chevy
  7. for those of you wondering about the turbos...here are a few quick mock up pictures of the small ones bolted up to the doomday machine...a DOHC 426 HEMI with a supercharger (and now the twin turbos offcourse) it will also have a 75 shot of nitrous for that little extra oomph at any rate, this is how the turbos look with no effort what so ever, i only glued on the manis and made the charge tubes, then painted everything i didnt clean up the castings or fill in any sinkholes, this is how the units look straight from the mold (keep in mind these are B quality pre-run units and im sure the final product will be even better) one more thing, i did trim the impeller shaft down to save room so the two snails sit a little closer then straight out of the box. and one shot with the charge pipes removed to show more detail
  8. ive only painted one model with nailpolish it was a 99c bottle from meijer called pizzaz frost or something i thinned it out with laquer thinner to the consistancy of milk...in this case it was closer to 3 parts thinner to 1 i used a grey primer, german silver base coat and about 11 (eleven) coats of nailthinner (admitted i may have watered it down just a tiny hair to much) havent finished the model yet but here is the body
  9. very true try the LIL forum wouldnt surprise me if thats where the first one came from there at any rate, if you do find one thats PG13 i would gladly print it for the going rate (which reminds me...you dont have a tab running you know)
  10. i can only imagine the search you would put in with google
  11. you can check with romell and see if he is willing to put one up and post it or...for only 6 dollars you can have your very own sheet or...if you wanna talk about doing some mopar specific decals like you asked before we'll work something out and ill see if i can toss in some of those pinstripes for free
  12. that really sucks about the decal i guess not everyone delivers tht same quality i would be more then willing to work on you with a replacement decal but you know there will be some more clothes involded
  13. i think you misspelled UofM on the tank no biggy were all spartans here anyway
  14. seen a dodge ram once with a sticker on the rear window that read "its a jeep thing, nobody give a fudge" i thought that was funny
  15. hi andrew i would say make sure you pick a model you like if you are into muscle cars and your a mopar guy dont start of with a model of a chevy escalade do some window shopping and once youve found a kit you like come back here and ask if it is a good one (even though most kits are good there are a few that are just more trouble then they are worth to make into decent models) keep in mind that the main thing is to have fun my first model didnt look anywhere near what my last one looked like and im sure the next one will be better still a lot of these skills only come with practice so dont get discouraged if you dont get it right the first time and NEVER hesitate to ask if you have any doubts
  16. that looks like a great candidate for a rebuild....not a lick of paint on her and you say it came with a boat ? very cool
  17. i mentioned i got it from here in post #6 just didnt know his screen name and if he made them himself or not thanks having seen the details in your builds it means a lot coming from you
  18. maybe we should pin this thread and be pau with it its amazing how often this question comes up
  19. thats quite a job you did there those wheels look like they belongs on that truck
  20. i heard licorice was involved
  21. do you think you could cast some nice classic rims to go with those drag radials ? i am so sick of centerlines, its not even funny anymore i would love to see a set of deepdish keystone classic or cragar SSs or dare i say it...spyder rims like i said before you should consider selling the rims and tires as a set
  22. its an interesting build for sure im converting a dually myself at the moment but that will be a mix between a work truck and a race truck did you know BTW that we now have a special segment dedicated to pick up trucks ? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showforum=35
  23. its my first one too yay
  24. i got mine in the mail yesterday and they are awesome even though i got them at a discounted price because they were B quality casts they still look great i should probably order a set of those drag radials he is casting to put on the rear of the car that will get these snails i cant wait to get my hands on a full catalouge of his castings and go to town
  25. that is assuming they dont leave you at the zoo sounds like a fun day
