  1. Kaleb, the wheels you are looking to replicate are a very close match for Pegasus Hobbies 'Beemer' style wheel. Unfortunately, the Beemer is a 19" wheel with NO lip, so you will have to make a front lip for it.
  2. Thank you Chris, 1971 still bore the 440 in Street Hemi Orange, and the 400s got the Chrysler Engine Turqouise color (both colors still available from Ma' Mopar by the way). Hemis (last production year for them and the 440+6) still wore their Street Hemi Orange coloration.
  3. To those who responded, I really do appreciate your honesty and perspective. As what I do for a living calls for a high level of attention to detail, so goes my hobbies. I do obsess terribly over the small stuff, even for my 'hobby', and I believe that is what is my major downfall. I will have to learn to dial that back some. Thank you all for your thoughts. Mike; you know me too well my friend. I have some snappers that are curbside and I even obsess over the little things on those! I just need to FINISH something without thinking about it too deeply!
  4. Very clean, smooth, understated. I like it, as it is not flashy or gawdy.....it just looks 'right'.
  5. Get everything together in subassemblies first, then prime them. As to length of time to topcoat; some can be topcoated in an hour, some will take days before topcoating. And will you sand the primer smooth or topcoat over the initial primer surface?
  6. I am at a crossroads of sorts; I have started a build that will be for the contest table, and have scratchbuilt many parts so far (with quite a few failed attempts). The failed attempts (quite a few in nature) and their location on the vehicle have me wondering; just how far do you go detail-wise for a contest? I know the underside of the vehicle will be looked at (and am building a display stand to do just that) as well as the topside/interior/engine bay. But in that, just how far should I go with the engine? The timing cover/crankshaft timing belt pully/counterbalance shaft plate/pully will barely be seen when down in the engine bay, yet I have 5 attempts in the above mentioned items and am still not happy with it (well, the pullies haven't been made yet, but everything else has been attempted). Am I just being THAT picky, or will the judges be looking at it? I know a lot of it comes down to product knowledge, and I know a lot of judges won't/don't know what the front of a Ford 2.3Turbo looks like without the belt guard.......but I do. I just want to know where you guys take your detailing level too and if I am just being a little too picky with my work. Thanks for the thoughts/opinions.
  7. Are you looking to change it in any way? Do you have the stash of Evergreen/Plastruct to do it? Do you have the time? All of these questions need answered before I would think of dropping coin like that. Skill isn't a question.......I have seen some of your other HO scale builds, you can do this as well.
  8. That's what we're here for, and for build support when he/you start on the kit. Who knows, he might just build a few of them!
  9. I have actually seen them still on shelves here in Ohio. What generation Lightning is his truck, as it will make a difference in kit availability? First gens (square body from the mid-late 90s) are harder to find kits for, and may take some searching. emodelcars, ebay, modelroundup, and even an add here in our wanted section could turn something up fairly reasonable for you.
  10. Root Beer Brown or Turbine Bronze with a black vynil top/interior would be cool.
  11. Well Cristian, I have over 1100 kits in my collection with more than half started. But that is why I love looking through this thread; to see what everyone else has started/almost finished and the ideas that were put into plastic. This gives me a sense of both 'wow' and belonging to see that others have done/are doing cool things with their kits.
  12. So far it looks good. Any thoughts as to color and options?
  13. Wow, just...wow. There really is some super stuff here. Inspiration can be taken from some of these stalled projects.
  14. The 351s were carbed if I remember correctly, and the 5.0Ls were still SD SEFI.

    my 89 lsc

As the later MN-12 interiors? Somewhat, as they were far more upscale than the basic FOX. Howeevr, the MKVII did have a lot in common with the 87-88 T-Birds (moreso with the TurboCoupe versions) and Cougar XR-7s.
  16. Looking good Cliff (hope to see this jump-start you back at those killer Bees again).
  17. Those are stock taillights for this car......................... Great looking R34.
  18. 4 years, and with the 5.0 OR the 5.8, depending on options level selected. And you did a great job of capturing the car.

    my 89 lsc

Thank you Chuck. Not to knock the info here, but the real LSCs were FOX chassised, NOT MN12 chassis. Being that they were FOXes, the 1994-98 Mustang offerings from both Revell/Monogram and AMT will work, especially the 1994-5s as they were still 5.0L powered.
  20. Kind-of the same way I did mine. Thanks for sharing this with us!
  21. My garage. Seriously, being that I am a FOX Mustang guy, I build models of them. I have 4 real FOXes at the house right now. If I want mid-60s Mopar B-Bodies, I ask dad to send pics of his cats. I have had good luck with Google Images for a lot of my other searches (including an 87 Thunderbird TurboCoupe).
  22. Yes Dan, it is. But it just came off the 'stalled' list today as I got the front wheel sleeves back from the machinist and patched the body back together.
  23. Every day. I try to convince work that it is cost-effective for them to pay me to keep my toolbox shut!
  24. Very nice examples Mike. I had some made to 'span the gap' between the Pegasus 19" sleeves and their 23" sleeves. Mine scale to 21" and have less of a dish to them.......they look good paired with the 23" sleeves from Pegasus (versus the 19"/23" combo that just looks too 'Big'-n-little.
  25. There are some REALLY NICE stalled projects here that would look good (done) in the light of day! Awesome, and thanks for sharing in this thread with me.
