  1. Matt, if I commit to doing this, it means that I have to finish my Mustang convert for my CBP AND the 1983 Levin for the Japanese car CBP first. I also need to get to work on my KW W900A and trailer. IF, and that is a BIG IF, I do this........I have some Pete 359s that will collide to form one, and a 48' dropdeck airride that will tage along behind it (I will not mention the tarped load yet).
  2. Jimmy, that turned out beautiful! You do some killer work. Can I ask you a favor; send lots of pics of Oki, I have Marine buddies there and I have heard it has a pretty wild car culture.
  3. Wow, the 3 valve 4.6 is down in D/fuel Injected Automatic? I guess so, given its weight to power output. Nice job on this build.
  4. Looks like a good turn-out. I apologize for not being able to make it; work seems to be taking more of my time (and my soul) lately.
  5. sinister....I like it with the big-inch poverty wheels!
  6. Scale Equipment Limited, Grandt Line, Tichy Train Group..............just a few of the detail suppliers I can think of at the moment (for diorama stuff and building hardware). Evergreen Styrene, Plastruct, K&S for your plastic/sheet metal needs. List can go on for some time, but it will need others to help flesh it out.
  7. Thanks for the info Mark......I will squirrell that away for future reference.
  8. 24 hours to build huh? I couldn't do that nice with 24 MONTHS to build it in!
  9. Very nice trio of Hondas. If all real 'tuner' builders built their rides as cleanly, there wouldn't be so much negativity attached to this style of car.
  10. Welcome back to modeling; and if you finish one you will be doing twice as good as I do!
  11. Dave, my 65 Dodge took FOREVER to wash, with 5 acres of sheetmetal, and that was 6 years ago! Heck, my 1991GT takes a while, and it is small compared to your 03 or my 65!
  12. Excellent build. Given your detailing style and companies/products used, I am going to venture a guess and say you also do/did model railroading at some point in time?
  13. Great Jeff! Glad to see a finished FOX come out of this CBP. I have more done on my 1983 vert, and I am hoping to have it done by New Years! The 1991GT conversion I have going will be FAR from done at that time. Thank you all for participating in this build, I hope to have some more progress pics up soon.
  14. No disrespect Jimmy, but 'Super Duper Long' isn't exactly a great reference for wheelbase differences. This looks like a very ambitious and well thought-out project. I look forward to seeing more of it.
  15. Thanks for the info and links on the newer trailers. At least I (and others) will have the info when the time comes to start building/updating these kits! (Yes, this is an admission that I NEED to start building/finish some projects again!).
  16. Looking good so far, and I like the idea for the paint. One question I do have involves the prototype; as every other trailer has expanded in length, has this real trailer been made in a 48'-53' length? I was looking at combining two of them into a 48'er to throw behind either my stretched W900 or my stretched 359.
  17. most everybody takes 1/16th of an inch off the springs and adjusts the arms accordingly to set the ride height down where it needs to be.
  18. That's cool, as I didn't know what size sleeves you were using I just wanted to give you a heads-up. I found this out the hard way and didn't want you going through the same 'Oh, Poo' reaction I did.
  19. If you're going to stick those wheels inside Pegasus 23" sleeves, be ready to cut the inner fenderwells out unless you are going for a 4x4 look (just talking from experience here).
  20. Man, there are some really nice unfinished projects/concepts here! I feel like I am in good company. P.S: You're welcome Dan! Maybe seeing some of these will get some of mine done.
  21. Dave, I thank you kindly for the photographic evidence that I am related to you! I have about 400 stalled projects, and for the same reason as you; I like the 'Mock-up and Fit' era of a build. Once I can see what it is going to look like finished, I lose interest. Keep the pics coming. Believe it or not, this is cooler than an 'On the Workbench' posting any day!
  22. So what is it about the vast majority of modelers (be it armor, ship, aircraft, or scale auto builders) that lends them to more than one project going at once and the inevitable stalling of some projects? Is it a slight case of A.D.D or O.C.D? Do we have a need to tinker versus actually finish? Is it the newness of a build wearing off and the siren call of the next possibility calling us from the current project? I ask partly out of curiousity, and partly out of knowing my problem (and wishing to confirm the fears I have in myself/my abilities). What do you all think? Photographic evidence would be cool too. my below pics are but just a SMALL sampling of stalled projects. you could call this FOX Row......as they are all FOX Mustangs by MPC/Revell. Boxes of FOX kits. , , , , I have so many it is sickening. Not counting the threads I have here, I have hundreds of pics of stalled projects. Maybe this coming year I will pick up some of these forgotton builds and get them to the 'Under Glass' section. Feel free to join in with pics of your stalled projects (I don't want to be the ONLY kid in this camp!).
  23. Guess I'll throw my hat in this ring. Do I know how cars work? I learned to read/write/count with tools in my dads shop. He is an ASE certified Master tech in all 8 fields of auto, 6 of heavy truck, Fleet Diesel certified, Chrysler Gold Star certificate winner for 15 years running, MOOG chassis school certified, Viper/Viper Coupe certified, NHRA member since 1956...........and I grew up with him in the shops/at the dragstrip/behind the wheel of a 150" FED. Later, I bought a 1965 Dodge Coronet500 convert and stuffed a 440+6 from a 1969&1/2 SuperBee into it and drove it through my last two years of High School. Now I still own the 'vert, but I also own and modify FOX chassis Fords. My career field; A&P aircraft mechanic with a list of qualifications a mile long. Do I know anything about how cars work............maybe?
  24. Well; I have a spare body, and I got a 1961 Impala at the IPMS show this weekend. Looks like the spare and the roof from the 61 will join forces to continue this build-up. It won't be done for the December deadline, but it will at least be back underway.
  25. Hot shot intermodal/container trains are awesome. Big power, multiple units, and long stacks. Grain trains here are also sweet; 100+ hoppers of all shapes riding behind Dashes and big EMD power. Until GM shut down the Moraine facility, along with the DMax plant and most of the Delphi plants, we had some nice auto carrier trains as well as boxes of auto parts.....sadly most are gone now.
