Liking the wood bed. Stain it in a nice Cherry and paint the truck a Dark Royal Blue Pearl........mmmmmm, tasty!

Last time I was at the Vet they gave me a clean bill of health! Besides, I really don't bite much anymore. I drive from Dayton to the meetings, and if Keriann (aforementioned fiancee) is not at work/in class (she goes by ClassicPlastic here) she will be there with me. Anyone is welcome....first Thursday of the month.

Looks good all finished up. Now you will make the rest of us look bad (but we need that to keep going!) when you bring it in. Thanks for sharing it with us Dan, and I hope to be at the November meeting to see it in person.

Looks a lot like my workbench.............. Bodylines look good with the drop, and from what I can seee the wheels will fill the wells nicely. Any ideas on color schemes yet?

Well, besides the not winning, it sounds like it went well for you. One of these coming years I will have to plan a vacation and go to the show (for no other reason than to see some old friends). Thanks for your replies.

Thanks for sharing these with us. As a prior member of T.A.M.S, it is nice to see that the club still going and putting on shows. In your personal opinion; 1) How did you like the show? 2) What did you like the most about the show? 3) What did you like least about the show? 4) How was the model/vendor turnout?

That's cool Mike. I have no doubt that whatever 'style' blower you cast, it will be a sharp piece and very welcome by quite a few of us. -
I had to take a double-take at the drive-in pic, as it looked quite real. Great build and killer diorama.

Almost there Dan. I haven't really touched mine since the meeting as I have been BUSY with work. I did get the front wheel sleeves back to the machinist to get the .040" taken out that was missed the first time. It looks like I will be building mine in my style all right......unfinished! You bringing it to the next meeting?

Also, check out RB Motion. Hang on to your wallet, but his stuff is NICE!

Good to know you're up and running strong again Mike. I know this is a silly question, but what prototype are you basing the scale centrifugals from? Paxton, Vortec, Procharger? -
I always liked the 'Jet Thrust' taillight treatment of these cars. The glowing red reflecting off the chrome, surrounded by what look like 'Turkey Feathers' (afterburner equipped tailpipes) just gave it a sinister look from the rear.

If you are going to N.O.B Norfolk, just inside gate 3 (or is it 3A) to the left is what looks to be a powerplant. Just before you get to it is a bowling alley. Sandwiched in between is a gas station and the MWR Hobby shop (it was still there in 2004 when I went for a visit anyway). It was well stocked and they had catalogs and were willing to order if they didn't have it.

Matt, I had this model a LONG time ago as well! Then I got the Con-Cor/Riverrossi unit and remotored it with twin Sagami cans. That thing would PULL. But anyway, I actually went through all the trouble to drill out all of the ashpan holes and weather the 4-8-8-4. It was destroyed in a move. Hobby Lobby currently has this on their shelves and I was thinking about picking it up and recreating my old build. Thanks foor the memories. And as long as we are talking big Locos here, the 2-10-10-2 is another monster, along with the U.Ps Gas-Turbine prototypes.

Are you going to NAS Oceana or to NOB Norfolk area? I know there is a Marine Detachment Base just down the street from NOB Norfolk on International Terminal Drive (across from the Railroad gates of N.I.T).
-
Clay, I was stationed in Norfolk for 3 years and was constantly down in the 'Beach. TAMS has their meetings (used to anyway) at the Va.Beach Library and there is (was, but I think he still works there part-time) an EXTREMELY knowledgable gentleman named Joe Miles who works at the Va.Beach Hobbytown USA.

Sorry about that Eric. Yeah, I will be doing the same as even at about $10 a pop, the T-Birds are getting expensive just to rob parts from!
-
And here I am still playing with the bodywork on mine! Look forward to seeing it with the foil and seeing it in December Dan.

Model Car Builders Of Florida
whale392 replied to Doug McCabe's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
I do believe this is/was the right direction to take (if my suggestion was of help, it makes me happy); both online and as a satellite set-up. A once-yearly gathering in one fairly central location could still work (think 'Sunshine and Citrus NNL') if you can get enough lead-time and co-alition for the time/place. I will continue to moniter this, as home (Florida) is in my future. -
Sweet, a new home! (settles into his comfy new bedroom and subsequently sneeks down the hall to raid the beer fridge in the garage)
-
Love the paint Jim, and is that the old 'Skippers Critter' kit you started with?
-
Nice rear-mount turbo set-ups.

Looks very good so far. The engine color looks good; and you can get 'Chrysler Engine Turquoise' at your local Mopar counter.
