, Some of the body....one in primer and the other in the Silver and sitting on SuperStallion wheels (which are the wheels I am using for this build). Again, pardon the junky build.

RamCharger vs regular D-series trucks
whale392 replied to whale392's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the replies guys..........I was thinking (and the instruction sheet for the bass boat combo states) that the Revell RamCharger was 1/25th scale (kit# 7242). I see it is also a 1979, maybe 1980 by the grill (which is fine by me). If I can come up with a dead Warlock or LRE truck, I think I can have my donor. I am using the 440+6 out of the MPC 70' SuperBee kit (as one is going Hemi) and the wheels/tires from the new Challenger SRT8 (yes, I know the bolt pattern is different in the real vehicles, but 5x5 and 5x4&1/2 are not distinguishable in 1/25th scale), along with some of the interior pieces. Thanks again guys! -
Correct me if I am wrong, but when Dodge debuted the RamCharger (in 1974), it was based on the D-series truch running gear correct? Reason I am asking is because I have a RamCharger kit and was wanting to convert it back to 4x2 versus 4x4 and was thinking of using a later Dodge pick-up kit for a chassis donor (I would have to aquire said kit) and was wanting to know if they were indeed the same basic chassis. Thanks for the info (in advance).

AMT 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT...restomod of a 44 yr old kit
whale392 replied to Marc @ MPC Motorsports's topic in Model Cars
just like the Falcon.....simply beautiful! -
Very clean and meticulous! How did you get the rim/tire combo to fit so well (I have a 61 Comet I am redoing as well, and had to stick to some lower diameter wheels/tires to fit into the wheelwells)?

I love the Fox Bodies, and would love to see this one shine again!

Same question as Cliff. Pacific Blue is a nice color......I shot a 'Ghia in that color, and cleared it with some pearl; color really popped!
-
Cliff; I am thinking that Dark Green Metallic Mopar had with a green interior and the Kelsey-Hayes recall wheels......but my '70 SuperBee and the '71 KPGC10 have to be finished first. Then I have the '30 Ford Woodie and a '79 Capri TurboRS to finish as well. She is in line, but it looks to be a long holding pattern.

MPC 70 Coronet question
whale392 replied to coolplastic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Never believe the instruction sheets.....ever. The air cleaner lid is Street Hemi Orange, along with the base. The seal ring is the only thing that is black. -
Very nice Roach!! I have a soft spot for Mopar B-Bodies, and this one hits that spot dead-on!

WOW.....just.....WOW!

Heck Cliff, I have enough stalled projects to fill the hull of the Edmund Fitzgerald (as a matter of fact, I think it would have been better for me if they had've gone down with the ship!). I got the Green I will use for my 'Cuda yesterday, and am scrounging around for a donor chassis (as I have a much better detailed 383 to go into it and the chassis plate is typical MPC of the time). Keep up this build; hopefully it will spur me on to actually finish a model this year (or any year for that matter!).
-
Well Cliff........thanks to your build of the 69 Cuda, I had to go overpay for a 'Cuda I already had in my collection (I think anyway; I am in Ohio and most of my kits are in Florida) just so I could build one. Of course mine will NOT be on the calibre yours is (mostly as I am building it fairly stock). Thanks for the inspiration to start but never finish yet another kit!!
-
I was given the kit in trade for some other kits I had and admit to parting it out for some of my other builds (It went to 3 different Fox body builds I had going). The engine is fairly nice, and the wheels/tires look good on a Capri!
-
So where's the engine pics?! I have a thing for the Z, whether it be in its' Fairlady configuration or in its' American guise. I love the 'L' series motor, and even moreso the S20.

The decals will be very fragile and will more than likely already be hairline cracked (mine were....fresh from the box). As for coloration, paint it anything but Fords Hokey 'Enviorn-car green Scheme' (the stock paint job on this car).

Very nice build indeed! Being born and spending 11 years of my life in Michigan, I knew who E.J Potter was (my dad was and still is a drag racer) and yes, some of the stories of his antics are legendary here in the mid-west. Your dad and uncle seem to be in the same vein as he was........crazy!!
-
I grew up Mopar.........and still have massive love for the Mid-60s B-Bodies, followed by the A-Bodies. These builds are looking great. Be proud....I sure would be.

I think I just messed my screen. Outstanding application of the paint and great attention to detail. Beautiful builds a pair!
-
I agree with the under-rating of this movie as a car movie (it somehow always gets labeled a teen angst movie....but it has so many cool cars in it). Good luck with the build.....now I have to go watch 'D&C' again..........anybody seen Stoney?!
-
Looks great for the kit it is! I used the chassis from the MPC (AMT re-issue) 'Class Act' 82 Monte Carlo for mine. (I will admit to buying the 70s Monte for the wheels and the 80s Monte for the CB750 Motorcycle kit!).

1992 Lincoln Mkiii - Full Built With Thunderbird Parts
whale392 replied to CustomFreak's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I just happen to have several of the re-issues of the TurboCoupe kit (even pirated the engine from one for my SVO project).....looks like I need to ferret out a Lincoln kit now! Your build looks great, and has given me yet more modeling ideas (bad but good at the same time!). Keep it up; my eye is on this build!
