  1. That's a cool looking ride, the interior reminds me of Burger King, I like it. I really dig the wheels. Your going to get that hungry feeling everytime you look at it. Here's some usless Cliff Claven information. FACT; yellow, organge, and red trigger our feeding instincts, how many food chains can you think of that have at least one of those colours in them if not all three? Most.
  2. Ah man these had me laughing, now I don't feel like such a clod. Especially the June bug ( ) and the exacto knife . What about when your stripping chrome, and when your rinsing the parts you forget to put the drain plug in and you loose the front grill, mirrors, and antena. I managed to get the grill out of the trap but lots the rest, doh.
  3. Ken, your current situation of corruption sounds like a typical situation in the State of Florida. This grass roots example of dishonesty and corruption just adds fuel to this preverbal fire down there. More then one investigate reporting team over the past 20yrs has done documentary reports on the corruption of the State of Florida from local county elections to the police to the federal and state voting system, why should a model contest be any different. I mean no disrespect towards you personally with my statements, but as Harry asked, why bother?
  4. Nice looking parts, did you cast them?
  5. That's some incredable work Bill. As for the fabric issue, has anyone tried light weight spandex or the like? I used to be in the business of manufacturing and designing body armour for Motocross there is a ton of materials out there. Search the net, contact a supplier and tell them you need a very thin stretchable material such as pantihose yet it can't be translucent and ask for a sample. In most cases they'll gladly send you a good size sample. What about using spring steel for the framing, or maybe tungstein?
  6. Very nice work on the paint, pretty wild stuff. Great under hood detail also. Bravo.
  7. This is awesome Peter and a real insperation, something I can aspire towards. Congratulation on the success. Man you work fast, I really dig all aspects of this WIP. Your future ideas sound very cool. Like Harry said, scratch building at it's finest.
  8. Looking good CB, how 'bout a dying single flower wiltting?
  9. That's pretty sweet looking, I love the big a$$ rear wheels.

    Corvette Z06

Beeeutaful paint. Who make this kit, or is Jada the kit maker. I really dig those wheels I'd buy the kit just for the wheels.
  11. Wow that is some serious quality there. The packaging is a nice touch too.
  12. I too agree with the other comments nice build, kit should be build.
  13. While searching for pics of my recently identified 1937 540k Mercedes, I found this page. it might be usefull for some of you. carblueprints.narod.ru Just as a side note, I remember someone on here is/was going to scratch build a Bugati tank car, this site has a drawing of that car.
  14. Welcome to the site, George is right this site has a wealth of knowledgable builders. If your build straight out of the box or OOB, then you really just need the basics. - glue - a small set of cutters, for cutting parts off the sprus - an exacto blade #10 and or #11 - 400 and 600 grit wet sand paper - some emery boards of different grits - tweezers can be helpful - crazy glue, for those hard to set peices - and of course brushes, a small one for detail work If you want to get into doing mods then a set of small files will come in handy. As you progress you'll end up making tools that work best for you. Take your time and prep all the peices and test fit parts as you go. Pick an area on the build that you want to pay close attention to i.e. detailing the interior and practice your skills. On the next build add another part and so on. Read through Mr. Obsessives thread on one of his latest builds he has gone to great length to detail what he is doing and added alot of good tips in there that will help ya out. Good luck

    rat rod

Neat look JT, I'm going to have to give that try sometime.
  16. Thanks for the help guys. Yep it's going to be a street rod of sorts, when ever it makes it to the bench Yes it is a Monogram and molded in silver, great eye and knowledge. Interesting scale, I have three other cars as well, I would guess they're all from that series of 1/22 then? Thanks again for the info. Curt
  17. Hmm, interesting perspective.
  18. As per the title I bought a huge parts box from my LHS and this body was in it. I know it's a Mercedes but that's it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
  19. Plus I'm practicing using photobucket, man is my PC ever slow, it's a Dell from 2001 running XP.
  20. First off let me say there are some real nice work spaces here. My work area is a make shift area until my renos are done and we move. Since I'm pretty new here and have spent more time posting words then work I thought I should post up my work area. Plus I just figured out how to use Photobucket. My work area was a sauna up until a couple months ago. I don't work out side in the winter any more so I don't use it and it was just to ###### expensive to heat. I decided to convert it into my work room. It's only 7'x7' but being that small is surprisingly spacious. It was originally done in pine (why I don't know) by the original owner. I slapped on a coat of white primer installed electrical, a new spray/photo booth (an old cupboard) and my little heater/dryer, carpet and shelving. Just before I started the new room my compressor gave up the ghost, the reed valve went. So I had to fine something else, I found a used Delta 2 gallon compressor, super quite Anyway here's some pic of the new mess.
  21. This is a little something I've always wanted to try, it's been chopped a scale 5". As you can see in the 3rd pic it's pretty rough inside. More pics to come as I progress. The last pic is where I am now, I need about another 3-4hrs before it's ready for casting.
  22. That's awesome, nice work on the seats and I really dig the hauler.
  23. I was surprised as well with how many different kits were on ebay in that scale. My LHS has a couple; one is an older Lincon and the other is an older Lamo. Revell has done a WWI bi-plane series in 1/28 I'm not sure how many but I have three.
