  1. I've been a lurker there for a while and finally broke down last night and joined up. My forum name there is Cpt. Bondo. -Scott H.
  2. I would like to know this too as I happen to have one in full scale and wouldn't mind making a replica of it. -Scott H.
  3. I've driven wreckers off and on for years myself and will agree 100% on this one. The only thing those are good for is scrap weight! His other comments are right on the money too. -Scott H.
  4. Ed, The gas station is looking good! Now I'm going to have to work over time on my store just to catch up with you! The good news is it shouldn't be too long before I can actually sit at the work bench again to work on it. -Scott H.
  5. Nice build! I have the plastic version of this sitting in my collection. I too am interested in what you used to make the ground cover, could you please let us know what you used for it and how hard it is to work with? -Scott H.
  6. I went to the Model Show today that the club I belong to puts on every year with the intentions of only looking around and supporting the club. Weeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllll, that didn't exactly happen the way I planned. I glanced over at one of the vendor's tables and saw a model I have been wanting for a while now. Yep, that's the IMC 1948 Ford Convertible for $20.00! It has been started, with a couple of parts painted but that doesn't bother me a bit as I'm going to build it anyway. I also couldn't let this poor thing sit on the bargan table any longer... A 1968 El Camino for $5.00 that was a built up, but definitely workable. After a quick work over and a bath in the stripper, it'll be ready for the rebuild. -Scott H.
  7. Mine came in today also and I enjoyed looking at every article. Thank you and Congrats to everyone that helped to make it 10 years! May the next 10 be more enjoyable than the last! -Scott H.
  8. Could go either way. I voted real on this one. -Scott H.
  9. They can't write you a ticket for not having a front license plate if you live in a state that doesn't require it. If the above is a real incident, the officer needs reported because he is over stepping his boundaries and going against federal law. As for the other, unless it's a major safety issue the state has to follow the laws and regulations of the state the owner / vehicle is from. This comes from both a local police officer and a lawyer I talked to a while back over a similar issue I had (in Virginia no less) over the window tint on my truck that I let go because it wasn't worth the money & hassle of going to court over. -Scott H.
  10. The biggest things I have learned lately is patients, my limitations, and the fact that I have to let go of things that are beyond my control. The main reason for this is my injured lower back. I used to sit down at the work bench and start going at it. Now that I can't sit there for too long without causing myself to be in major pain (my limitations and beyond my control thing), I actually plan out what I'm wanting to accomplish and stick with it instead of getting part way done and move on to another project I have an idea on (the patients thing). I guess there is one good thing that has come out of blowing out the L5 disk in my back. If there is anything else good that has happened from it I sure don't know about it though! -Scott H.
  11. Clear shelf paper. You'll be able to see through the windows and the shiny white panels will still reflect the light you need to see by. Hope this helps, -Scott H.
  12. Ah, KO. I was hoping they were gonna let you stay there instead of sending you to the sandbox! May the Lord watch over you, your family, and all the people serving in the military and keep everyone safe from harm! -Scott H.
  13. Clay, Be careful over there, we want you to come back safe! While you're in Germany, you might want to check out the castles and churches on your days off. When dad was stationed in Wiesbaden, we would take day trips to different ones and enjoyed it. Some of the older, smaller churches were the most interesting to visit as far as the old architecture and such go, just make sure to take a camera. Oh, Octoberfest should be coming up too! -Scott H.
  14. The Model Roundup has the Grumpy's Toy Vega body in resin that uses the kit you have for a donor. (click the name to go to the resin section of their site) 1972 Vega 'Grumpy's Toy' 1/25 resin body donor kit = AMT 38482 1978 Vega Sportsback Pro Stock RK-142 $24.90 The Vega Sportsback Pro Stock is the same kit as the Twister Vega. Hope this helps, -Scott H.
  15. I just LOVE our Postal System.... When you Positively Absolutely have NO IDEA IF it'll make it there, much less in one piece! Let me look and see if I have another set. I still haven't gotten the pictures of the way I used plastic signs to build the missing parts of the walls for you yet. I got my camera back finally, but now it won't work! Isn't it funny how well family will take care of your stuff when you loan it to them??? -Scott H.
  16. Nope, wasn't me. I'm not that lucky! Although it is something I would do if someone needed the helping hand. I do believe you're on the right track with who it was though. Didn't they stop at a hobby shop and she bought him a model but she got to pick the colors or something? -Scott HH.
  17. Russell, Didn't you receive the set I sent to you a while back? -Scott H.
  18. I would also add that the house and barn need some separation to them, as in the house on one side of the board and the barn on the other. There is a reason for this. In real life the more space between the house and barn lessens the chance of the "natural fertilizer" smell from reaching the house. Trust me, barns with livestock in them can get pretty ripe on a warm day! -Scott H.
  19. It was sent to me in an e-mail and I had to share! -Scott H.
  20. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=317246 I just don't understand people some times... -Scott H.
  21. Lyn, There will be vender tables there too. As far as building goes, I can promise you that there will be people there that would gladly answer any question you have. -Scott H.
  22. The person with the loaded gun in the back window of the truck they're driving! Then it's the Teenager either talking or texting on a cellphone. (Like they would have actually stopped for the stop sign in the first place). In all seriousness, when it turns into a standoff, I usually give it a couple of seconds, cautiously start out, and if no one else jumps I'm outta there! -Scott H.
  23. Wayne, Thank you for letting Lyn know about our model club's show! Hopefully we can continue to provide the show for a long time to come for everyone to enjoy. Lyn, This is the show that is put on by the model club I have belonged to for years. If you're interested in it, please let me know and I'll be glad to help any way I can. -Scott H.
  24. That's it... I don't care if I have to be carried into the building because of my back I'm making the next club meeting just to have a chance to see one of these in person!!!! Great work as always! -Scott H.
  25. Those look like Hurst (yep, the shifter company) rims. The kit I found them in is the Johan Cadillac Hearse, but they may be offered aftermarket too. Hope this helps, -Scott H.
