  1. Let's see I started when I was 5 years old in 1977 when my older brother gave me monograms snap kit of a 57 chevy in blue and silver plastic, since then I have done everything from cars to train set to starships,to wooden boat kits and all the way to wargaming pieces from games-workshop! So yea I still go strong on my cars thought and for giggles I still do a sanp kit for the memories.
  2. I recently bought a house off a retire electrician and between the shed and my house I have tons of conduit piping in all shapes and sizes.and spools of wire.also a pair or moose antlers and elk antlers that were left in the shed if I wana add bone trim to anything.
  3. First off I have seenn people who have been building for over 20 years every so often turn up junk and call it a work of art. You have only been doing this like you said for about a year and what you have done has most definitly been a steady improvment compard what I have seen here and else where. Even the guys who do all the shows and win awards turn up junk ever so often,so dont sweat it. You keep going the way you are and try a new thing with each build before you know, you will have much to show for,so dont be ashamed or upset by your earlier progress, just keep trucking and building. What I find usful is a model journel,In which I keep notes of what I have done so I will learn from my mistakes and how I can Improve from them. When I first started for the first few kits I did nothing but build and after awhile I added a color or two, then a full painted kit, maybe some wiring, maybe some photoetch and resin add ons. just keep going and you will be fine. Good Luck on all your future builds, and if you screw up which everyone does you score two ways also, extra parts and practice material for the next one.
  4. well i sealed up the top and bottom of the body and some how im going to make them hingeoff the frame, i am going to strip the chrome off everything, I havent decide to wire it up yet since this is my first dragster i just wana work on building it before i wire it.
  5. I did the hot rod 57 version back in the early 90s and didnt have any problem with it that I remember.
  6. im not new to models but this is the first time I have ever done a drag kit and since this kit was givin to me im not really out any cash if it turns out crappy, that being said it does have a legit chassis for drag cars in it. my question's are has anyone did this before, and has this chassis been used in any other kit cause im finding extra parts that dont go to this build??? Also what are you impressions of this kit besides the goofy looking body.

  20. I am rather disapointed in this years selection guys,a few years back you promised a 87 cutlass but that was a no go, and this year its pretty much more of the same blah. I know the industry is suffering like everyone else but how about repoping stuff thats in demand? You guys in the company surf the sites and see what people have been asking for in your older kits and maybe some of the newer stuff,I mean really how many 57 chevys,Mustangs and impala' plus camaros does anyone need?? Heres a concept you got to major model magazine company's for car models out there how about sumitting a poll or a questionaire and ask what they would be more than likely will we spend our money on?? Also don't make the box art so toy like think back to the 60's and 70's with stuff that was catchie not boring, and 2 for 1, or the 3 in 1's from back in the day when a kid could make all types of versions with everything in the box. I knw somethings are cost prohibitive but to make money you gotta spend some to see what we really want. Thank you.
